- Getting myself back into Vlogging after taking a couple of months off. I talk about SCW garage's upcoming projects to prepare the rides for an awesome year of riding and start to plan another Cross Country Trip to the South West.
yeah i couldn't offer any advice, just do what you want to do. Winter has been hectic here in jersey. Also had to get my FJR done on recalls, there was a big one issued on the 2016 model (transmission) so just got that done and also the brakelight switch, i believe its just Gen III's that are effected (6 speed transmission) though the brakelight i think is 2014 and up...just waiting for spring!

Hey Bob, I want to travel this year as well. Last year was a bust. I did none of the trips I had planned. This year, I won't be denied. I've also been looking at a camper with a bike on the back. I just can't decide if that's the way to go. I'll be interested in seeing what you decide. If you want company on any of your travels, let me know. Seriously. I'm up for anything and I want to get back out west also.
Hi Rich, Yup, 2020 was the pits, there were good local day trips though, hoping this year is better, we'll keep in touch and do a ride for 2021. I have been checking out that potential with the Camper. Seems like a good alternative but you loose the ride to and from which is part of the fun, but no big bulky bags in the back just need to worry about a single day at a time on carrying so.... don't know yet. 😉
I was just curious if you knew if the ZG 1000 and the ZG1200 are close to the same platform. Your fork rebuild helped me redo my front end on my 1999 Voyager XII. I love my bike but there are a few upgrades I to make it more pleasurable. Like brakes and maybe a gear swap if possible
The zg1000 is what i believe used to be called a parts bin bike. It has shared tech from several different bikes of those years. For example the eliminator and the water cooled ninja 900. With perfomance changes final drive of course. I Don't think any one bike will inter change all. Best way for research is to start researching part numbers. See what other rides share those numbers then you can map out a bolt on plan with different bikes.
@@SCWMoto I want to upgrade the front brake calipers because the late 90s zg1000 has two pot calipers and I want to see if I can swap gear sets if possible
@@garybaer4127 Im not sure of the fitment. Especially on the 1200. I know you can't put second gen calipers on the first gen forks the mounting points are different. It would require fabricating a caliper bracket. As far a gearing goes, thats way outside my wheelhouse. I wouldnt even hazard a guess on the final drive compatability of both bikes. If you looking for a taller gear, you could research a taller tire.
