@@ondrablahos4601 I was thinking of doing a big pedalboard showdown between those two shows. I almost have multiples of the same pedals just need a few to have both full functioning rigs. Other than that im not sure if it will be cool or not. 🤷
Hey Marco, awesome job. So you mentioned an issue that I've run into as I begin to record my work: you noted that the recorded tone is different from the tone in the room, and you attributed it to the fact that you are wearing ear protection. I also wear ear protection when I play, as my deluxe reverb with a 200w JBL cranked up is quite loud for my attic. When I mic it/run DI, I do notice quite a difference in tone, it's much more crunchy and trebly in the recording. Is this a common problem guitarists run into when dealing with hearing protection? Thx
Great video - love the attention to detail. On the pickups, isn’t the code number 016730 just Fender’s part number for the bobbin? I don’t think it directly relates to the wire, number of turns, or type of pole pieces used. My Player Strat pickups have that part number on the bottom.
@@Callisto1969 might be but I found a lot of USA strats from 1998-1999 with Texas specials with no stamp and the stamped ones these were the only other pickups I could find in the American standards. There is a run of MIM strats from that era that claimed to have USA made pickups and those had the same stamp. So if Dave Lee says that they were American standard pickups from that time period during the CALIFORICATION tour I would have to guess these are the ones They sound great I had originally had Texas specials that came with my strat they sound too twangy to be John’s tone, the SSL-1 pickups sound good but I think from at the very least btw threw stadium John had these in his strat. Not sure if the newer stamped ones are the same as the ones 20+ yrs ago I’ve never tried them.
@@MistaMahcosmy MIM Strat is a 2020 model I bought from new, and has the same code number on the pickup bobbins. I will say however that the way the number is moulded in to them looks a bit different on mine - a bit ‘cheaper’ looking.
