I’ve got a funny story for you two! British comedian and talk show host, Des O’Connor, used to visit Australia quite regularly and we always loved his sense of humour. Our most popular comedian host and all rounder was Don Lane, and he had Des on his show whenever he visited Australia. So Des told Don this story and I have never forgotten it! Des was in hospital, recovering from surgery. He was in a room with another fellow and the two of them would often get into conversations. One morning, as their breakfast trays were arriving, the Nurse cane to Des and said, “Before you have your breakfast, I need a urine sample from you, I’ll be back to collect it”, and she left a specimen jar on his breakfast tray. Des looked at the breakfast tray: cereal packet, milk, a sugar packet, a banana, some bread and butter and a glass of apple juice, the light translucent kind rather than the clear type. Des decided to have a bit of fun with the Nurse. He poured the cloudy apple juice into the specimen jar and put the lid on it. He drank the rest of the juice and ate his breakfast. His friend in the other bed saw what he did and said, “You’re going to stuff up the test you know!” Des grinned and waited for the nurse to return. Suddenly she breezed through the doorway, saw the specimen jar and picked it up, staring into it with a frown. “My my, it’s rather cloudy isn’t it?” Des grabbed it from her hands, swiftly removed the lid and said, “Well maybe I better put it through again,” and drank the contents. Des said itv was worth it just to see the look of shock on her face!
WILTY is An absolute staple show in our house. In case other viewers don’t know, this show is total improv. The ‘contestants’ don’t know the situation or statement in advance until they see the person or comment so have to think on their feet. Bob is a comedy legend in the UK and has had shows on TV for decades and he started life as a lawyer so clearly a clever guy.
You guys are seriously good fun to watch. So nice to see such a cool happy and natural couple reacting to great content in a real way. Seriously, keep up the great videos.
This section is called "This is my....." where a friend of one of the contestants comes on and the opposing team have to guess which one is telling the truth about his friend. There are many skits from Bob on WILTY. Truth and shrubbery is so funny. Watch the dentist chair on WILTY with Bob. Thank you for your understanding of our humour.
To say Bob has led a colourful life is the greatest understatement ever, the man has lived a 100 lifetimes and is a national trasure here in the UK. 😂 you must continue down this WILTY/Bob Mortimer rabbit hole, it only gets better. 😂😂
The "This is my ..." segment of WILTY always has all 3 panelists telling a story about how they know the person. The problem with watching UA-cam clips is that in most cases people have edited out the other stories.
Trustworthy face. You are so sweet. My wife once said I have a face like a bucket of angry frogs... I took it as a term of endearment until she told me it wasn't... cow! 😢 ❤ from Northeast England ❤️
Our national treasure...i loveeee Bob Mortimer....you'd never believe he used to be a lawyer... you have to remember Brits make jokes about everything and hes a comedian...
I'm not surprised this video has had 25k views (in ONE day), because Bob is a genius at storytelling... thanks for this (and thanks for liking our crazy humour)...
Bob did a name sale for a national cat shelter, so you could adopt your cat and pay for one of his thought up cat names. Examples : Gary Venue, Turkey Disturbance or Papa Handwash. I so want a vet to call out Gary Venue.😅 Bob is so unique and a legend
Hi you two, hope you keep safe and well with all that's expected in Florida. The era Bob was relating to here was the mid 70s with this story (he would have been 17 in 1976) when school life was vastly different
I'd forgotten about that damn hand lion! Bob is unique. The more ridiculous his stories are, the more likely they're true. Every episode of the show has one "this is my..." segment when someone comes out like this and everyone on one team has a story.
Hi Mike & Jess, in late 1968 when I was about 15, at High School, in England, we had a double maths lesson for the last two lessons of the day on a Friday, and we just wanted to get out of school for the weekend. So, In those days we used to get elastic bands (rubber bands), fold some paper up tightly and bend it in half and use the elastic band to fire the 'missile' at each other, but as some were bad shots they would fire up and hit the light shades, which would have a lovely ring tone. So we hatched a plan to get out of the lesson early on a Friday, if 6 or 7 of us got our rubber bands & missiles ready as the teacher was writing on the board, we would fire at one specific lamp shade, (we had practised this a few times) and it would go 'Ding ding ding ding ding ding' and sounded just like the end of day bell and we would shout "Sir the bell has gone" and he would say "O.K. off you go, I'll see next week". we would all rush out 15 minutes early 😂 and we kept this up for about six weeks before another teacher told him 🤣😂 oh the good old days
Equivalent to high school seniors. Bob is a qualified lawyer he gave it up for comedy, I think why the stories are quality. The stories are always true though 😂😂 he’s led an interesting life 😂
@@KGardner01010 Ha ha there’s not that many. He’s so good at making it sound like total BS. All the names he uses sound like he just made them up badly.
I think sixth form is the equivalent to both junior and senior years in high school which IIRC are the last two years of high school. The first two being the freshman and sophomore years.
Hi Mike & Jess i hope you are safe from the hurricane are you in the path and are you ready to go to Jess parents keep your family safe best wishes from Glasgow Scotland
You could try reacting to a whole episode and then cut it down into several segments for transmission. The reason I say that is that sometimes something is said early on and it gets referenced to later on. It will also give you 5 to 8 reactions from one episode.
First time watching the channel, the fact you have the video clip filling the screen and Mike and Jess small in the corners is class. Too many have it the other way round, kudos, just subbed from tbe UK :)
The ultimate episode of Wilty, would have Bob Mortimer, Claudia Winkleman, Greg Davies and James Acaster as the guests - they never ever disappoint. Most importantly, I hope your family stay safe ❤😊
You brought the standing reactions back! ❤ I commented on a live stream that I had loved Jess having to physically turn away from the camera during Freddie Starr's Vincent routine! This is so cool!
When doing wilty look for the ones that are usually titled "this is my" so you get to watch all 3 stories so you actually have to guess, it will be so much funnier for you.
Hi RegenerationNationTV. Great reaction to WILTY guys. It's 10.30 pm on Wednesday here in London. I would just like to say Mike, Jess and family, I hope you are keeping safe there in Jacksonville and my thoughts and best wishes are with you at this uncertain time. Love from the UK. xxx
Bob is so funny. As I was watching your comments at the end about Bob bluffing etc , it really reminded me of "Carrot in a Box". I don't think you've reacted to it. (sorry if you have, and I missed it) It is a comedy, totally crazy and hilariously silly, made up segment in the already hilarious panel/game show "8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown". I believe they did the 'Carrot in a Box' segment 3 times. If you watch it, it needs to be watched in order from 1 to 3. Each "Carrot in a Box' segment is not too long, around 3 minutes. It is entertaining and really funny. Anyway, whether you watch it or not, I love your reactions. Thanks for them all.
WILTY has a guest on every show and each contestant has to say how they know the person, then after hearing the stories of each panel member, they choose who they think is telling the truth. You should do a lot more Bob stories. He is always hilarious.
My grandparents had an old mirror they were going to throw away. Around the edge there were dozens of little decorative square green mirrors which I was able to detach. Children in my class were eager to possess one so I gave many away. In some classes, the kids would place their mirror on their desk so that they would catch the sun. Lots of moving lights on the ceiling entertained us. The teacher never knew.
Loved the positive prank story! You should tell more stories like that, sometimes true, sometimes false, and reveal which it was in the following WILTY reaction!
My history teacher in 6th form used to write history songs and make us sing them in class (he called us The Supremes), so I can 100% believe the "hand lion" was a thing 😅
It just occurred to me - the classroom will likely have been used for different grades. If the "hand lion" was really a thing, maybe it was used with younger students rather than the sixth formers.
Split an apple in half is a great Bob one, as is the firework one! I’d say leave the toaster one, the egg ones (there are two stories involving eggs) and the dentist one until you’ve reacted to all of his other stories, because it makes you understand why everyone believes these weird stories so readily. I’d say the witch’s garden one is one of the most underrated Bob stories
The crazy part is, the "hand lion" is legit; they show a photo of it at the end of another edit of this segment (the full one with all three guests, presumably).
It’s Bob Mortimer, anything could be true!!😂
Thank god for Bob Mortimer … a national treasure ❤
totally!!
Hey guys please be safe with this storm coming. Love you from England xx
Yay! I'm so happy that Bob is back on the channel.
Bob mortimer gone fishing is awesome some scenes heartbreaking
Do “Gone Fishing” with two comedy greats and charming conversation.
'This is my brewing buddy' is another good one with Bob.

After a few stories from Bob, David said the next time Bob was on, "It sounds ridiculous, but it's Bob so it might be true."

I agree. Bob and “the dentist chair” is the funniest thing ever! They must watch it 😂🤣😂
This is the "This is my...." round. In each episode, only one team has someone come out, and they each tell a story.

I firmly believe, especially knowing how smart Bob is that he shouted WOLF as a reference to the Boy who cried Wolf.
As a former child you're right, these things we did in secondary school we found hilarious
How can the word wolf be so funny I forgot it's Bob 😂😂😂😂😂😂
“Who is mick?” Similar format and a new comedian for you (James Acaster) hilarious
I am so glad you are both nearly wetting yourself for Bob Mortimer, it means you are rational normal human beings x
Great reaction guys. You have so many more with Bob on Wilty and all are hilarious. Stay safe over the coming hours. All the best form the UK

I think you’re beginning to realise our dear Bob will never be too old to play pranks 😂 always a kid at heart.

As crazy as it sounds, the 'Hand Lion' is a real thing. Not sure if it would be used with 17/18 year olds, but the toy did exist!
I always wondered whether this was the inspiration for "Lickey Kickey the home security dog" on the Smell of Reeves & Mortimer
