Forgot to add you can use up to 4 springs and adjust the tension as you feel is necessary! This was strictly an out of the box experience, I will show you in a future video what you can do to increase or decrease tension.
Lovely Jeff! I've been out of the Flight Simulator business for a good 19-20 years now and I'm getting more and more interested to taking it up again. I used to do soundpacks for FS2004 back in the day. This Thrustmaster yoke certainly looks like a thing and made me even more attracted to the take up flight simulation again!
I used to do Flight Sim stuff frequently back in the day, but fell out of it as I got older. Now I'm older and want to get back into it, so I've got the new MSFS, but I have been holding off on playing it because all I have now is an xbox controller, unlike the stick and throttle I used to have. Today my wife asked me what I wanted for Christmas. I just sent her the link lol
Same friend. I used to be a pretty ok simpilot back in the day, and deep into, but not really into it as much these days. I'd love to get back into it, but the cost of monitor, chair, desk, and controls like this, are quite cost prohibitive for me sadly.
It's not really simulation if you are only using an Xbox controller. You have to have the right equipment to get the most out of a simulation experience.
Thats so exiting to see an actual 787 yoke! It looks wonderful! 787 is my favorite airplane to work on as an aircraft mechanic, its a technology beast and a very interesting aircraft to learn about! Thanks for the video Jeff!
This unit is so well thought out it is insane. I already have the Honeycomb but I think this yoke is a better option for the jets while the Honeycomb dominates in the GA category.
This has probably already been mentioned, but just in case it hasn't , the little pin that comes with the throttle is used to slide into the throttle handles to keep them sturdy, there is a tiny hole on the side of the throttle lever.
That is a slick setup for sure thanks for reviewing it Jeff I can honestly say I have bought products and have stayed away from products before because you give a honest opinion of things and I appreciate it thank you for always being you and being honest about the products
Thrustmaster still giving away tons of freebies to UA-camrs and I still can't get the full airbus quadrant. Thanks TM, you always make me feel so special as a customer...
I remember playing Chuck Yeager flight simulator and an early version of Microsoft flight simulator when I was a kid with just a keyboard and a mouse. I was not good at it. :) I would love to be able to afford all the right equipment and a powerful computer but till then I just have to dream and watch Jeff play.
Thanks for the demo. Like the yoke and its capability, but not very impressed with the throttle. It should have had 4 slots instead of 3. Speed brake, both throttles and a flap lever. Why no engine start switches ? A perfect opportunity to add them.
Wow, it hit #1 best seller, and #1 new release despite not being released yet or having any reviews. There must be one hell of a marketing budget on this thing.
the only thing i dont like is the throttle set... you need BOTH the flaps and speed brakes !, that Boeing edition throttle set should have been made to accommodate BOTH, and then have the additional add on unit just for another 2 engine throttles for those 747 fliers. so, ill be getting the yoke on its own and be using my honeycomb bravo throttle set with it instead of the thustmasters throttle, plus there is no trim wheel that is kinda silly since most planes have them but the big deal-breaker is the fact you have to choose between speed brakes and flaps, when both are vital to flying a plane ! come on thustmaster, lets see a last minute revision of this almost perfect set up !
agreed, it has to be the biggest let down on this product, it should've been done properly from the start with 4 sliders, 3 is just silly. The only other way around it is having the middle slider operate both engines, but that's no fun as it reduces the immersion and also then you can't do asymmetric thrust.
@@shaunweatherill6651 Yeah, i will be buying the yoke, but I will use my honeycomb quadrant and not the Boeing Thrustmaster unit…. There is a way around the Boeing quadrant issue, and that is to buy a second quadrant and link them… and that also gives you ability to do 74s since then you can put in 4 engines….. but, honeycomb already did that for us, so, yeah, I’ll be buying just the yoke.
I don't get why they make the flaps lever optional, I mean, is it that hard to make the throttle quadrant complete with all the needed axis??? also, it SHOULD be motorized because if you are on autothrottle and you have to promptly dissengage it then you may have your throttle levers in a position different than they should have been placed by the autothrottle and perhaps you suddenly stall or overspeed...
When you were unpacking and mentioned the words XBOX my heart jolted, I immediately went to amazon to have a look, I did not know they were working on a yoke that would be compatible with Xbox, it's expensive but I am so pleased to have found your video, also I subbed
Unfortunately no way around it without getting rudder pedals unless you get a side stick which has a twisting feature on it where you don't need pedals
Wrap some electrical tape around the base of those swapable throttle control levers until you get rid of the slop (increase their thickness incrementally)
Are you using the Heavy Division mod for the 787? Highly recommend. brings a lot of improvements to the FMC and other systems. worth checking out and is always being worked on
Man this is amazing i love the boeing yoke and all rn my set up isnt very amazing because i cant afford all of this expensive stuff but man wish my yoke had a phone holder😍
I think $500 is too much. That's the same price as the Honeycomb yoke and throttle which has a much better build quality and a lot less plastic. And I think this Boeing yoke looks very toy like. But I think the looseness of the levers and cheap feel of the reversers is unacceptable for 500. But great video! I like how upfront you are about sponsorships.
How far does the yoke base stick out from the desk? The ergonomics with it clamped to the edge look awkward. Those two little sliders look like they're practically in your crotch. And it looks like you're having to reach a bit to get the throttles full forward.
haha its funny to see that you have to push the throttle levers forward to increase the engine's power during reverse. doesn't work like that in real life.
So does the throttle work with any plane giving that it only is meant for 2 engines. Like for a fact will it work it’s small single engines and a380s or 747s
Hi Jeff.Thx for the videos.Big fan.The rudders are mapped on the left handle but they don’t function on mine.I don’t have pedals🤬.Can you do a video on the different bindings?
I've been looking for a replacement for my Logitech/Saiteck X56 Rhino an looked at this Thustmaster. A correction for you, though it LOOKS like there is the clipboard clip on the yoke, it is a solid piece of plastic, it does NOT actually function as a clip. Very short-sighted on Thrustmaster in that reguard. How many pennies would it have been to add that?! Disappointed.
This is a difference between an average video and a real added value video. We have a complete overview, unboxing and in game experience. plus we see the device and your good looking hispter face! good job! :D what about the tension as you mentionned a spring included in the box?
Thanks! There are two springs that are under the face plate, the spring was a replacement. It’s how the tension feels so strong in the yoke. I need more time with it but it’s really a unique experience
Forgot to add you can use up to 4 springs and adjust the tension as you feel is necessary! This was strictly an out of the box experience, I will show you in a future video what you can do to increase or decrease tension.

Super cheap looking for sure
Ikr the price point doesn't justify how cheap these are for how much you're paying it's almost a scam
It's a plastic shell regarding the yoke itself, the internals of it all are metal though
That is awesome
Hopefully they will make addons for the throttle quadrant.
How much fun would it be to place this on the seatback tray while flying any airline
