PLEASE KEEP IN MIND when you are watching my videos: I am demonstrating the least expensive, quickest "backyard", "backwoods"methods for repairing or servicing your lawnmower. Replacing all components such as gaskets and fuel lines is always recommended when rebuilding or repairing equipment. With these videos I hope you are able to fix and repair your lawnmower yourself with minimal parts, knowledge and tools. Remember to always work safely and follow proper mechanic procedures. Thank you for watching!
Jeff
Thanks for information just fixed mine today after watching this
Good job
Lightweight is good and what did I use it for it’s a lawnmower ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxTPN04aT-Qdjr_KS3ql7ng8wnU3wwsCqk also recommend Yes it is lightweight so hence not as robust as our old one. But if you take care it does the job really well.
Thank you. So glad this was here! Have this exact model. Spool came off easy, no spinning bolt issue. The cord the hardware store sold me was too short, but fortunately the original cord broke only about an inch from the knot, so just fed it back through and rewound it. Another tip for threading… wrapped the end and a wire with scotch tape with some excess at the end to make a little cone. Fed through easily, just cut the tape off, pulled the wire out, and good to go with the rest.
Just what I needed today after snapping my cord. Thanks a lot man! Not every hero wears a cape.
LOL! Good job, Glad I could help!
OMG, your video made this the easiest repair I have ever done on anything!!!!!!! I too had to re-seat the front bolt, that was essy! Once that was done I pulled the rope out and was able to fix what I had without replacing the rope. I could only rewind the wheel 5 times, but that was enough! After all was said and done, we tried to start the mower and it started on the first pull!!!!! Thank you again Jeff's Little Engine Service for providing such concise information! By the way I am 68 years old and this was a cinch!
good job! Thanks for watching
Thank you for making this video! I was cutting the grass yesterday and broke the pull rope on my mower borrowed the neighbors and also broke their pull rope too. Maybe I am just strong. This video helped me so much on changing both. I fixed the neighbors but ended up breaking a little plastic piece off mine when winding it up I accidentally let it go. I am going to have to order a new starter assembly for it but I am just glad I was able to fix the neighbors and now know what to do if it happens again. Great video!
Thank you. good job!
Our only guy in town is retiring so I went to this site. Many Many thanks for the info. You saved me a few dollars.
Thank you for this video. I had to loosen up the thing in the center for it to unwind. After that, it was smooth sailing.

Than you for this great video, you saved me lots of money today and I appreciate you.
Good job, that's a MTD powermore engine I thing, Honda clone. First vid I have seen using a similar technique as me with the wire to help thread it. I use a paper clip bent out.
thanks D Fields! I was wondering who manufactured the engine. I could not find any markings
Thank you, thank you, thank you so.......very much for this video!
Thank you, this video saved me today sir
I'll take your old ones! 😃 They made things " READY TO LAST! back in the days of older "GREAT, WELL MADE" tools.🙂 those "OLDIES but GOODIES" have a lot more life on them!🙂
P.S
Representation for that's commercial was FUNNY and got my attention in a good way. I'll have to check the pricing. Hopefully the product will last a bit.
THANKS for the laugh.🤣
Thank you, this saved me loads. I had the same issue with the third bolt just spinning lol but all worked good!

Good video man
Use a zip tie or a piece of solid copper wire as a twist tie
Sweet video Jeff. Amazing help.
Thanks 👍
I replaced my cord following this video before it snapped. But when I pull the cord it locks up or only will come out about 15 maybe 20" and stops. What did I do wrong ?
I wish the Briggs had the same setup as these
I have that problem with all three bolts. This simple repair is turning into quite an ordeal.
ahh crap
Looking for a manual Honda troy bilt mulch walk behind lawn push mower with big wheels this more is from year 2003
Somebody put one of these out on the curb, it’s just missing the pull cord. I took it home, of course, and plan to clean it up replace the pull cord and sell it.
I have this same mower and it is very difficult to start. It will start and run good with starting fluid sprayed into the carb. Have any idea what the problem is? Clogged jet in the carb maybe?
yes it needs the fuel system and carburetor cleaned. I have a video that covers this engine on my channel
ua-cam.com/video/kJSv5fW7mtM/v-deo.html
Jeff's Little Engine Service Thank you! I will check it out after I'm done typing this reply. There's another problem with the mower the paws don't engaged onto the flywheel cup. Think it needs new paws?
Thanks for the video. Mine currently does not wind. Is it easy to replace that whole component?
yes
Replacement pull rope came loose and was not retracting. Does this fix work in that case?
Not sure probably have to take it apart to see what happened.
I can't get the stud off. Which way does it turn? I can't tell which way your drill is turning. Thank you.
Not sure what stud you are referring to but everything loosens by turning it counterclockwise.
What does it mean if the rope pulls and recoils but the engine does not turn or crank? Seized?
How much do you wind the pulley in If yours spun out
What should i do if the rope doesnt want to retract?
Take it apart slowly to see whats wrong
My cub cadet pull cord is rubbing on the plastic cover and suggests to fixing that?
check that everything is mounted up correctly, or just cut out the section that is rubbing
Jeff's Little Engine Service did that i didnt wanna cut the plastic but what you gonna do
So what if ones hubby removed that silver plate and undid the metal thing too lol
So I was cutting my grass and it was pretty high and it would want to turn off while I was cutting it and then at the end it did and now won’t start Nd now the string gets stuck and won’t pull
sound bad, like maybe the engine has froze up
Where does one get a wire small enough for this? I’ve tried a close hanger, nails, floss and nothing has worked getting the rope through the hole. Help please
get creative! a hairpin/bobbi pin, chopstick, shishkabob skewer....etc
@@JeffsLittleEngineService Yeah I'll go to a hardware store for some wire that's a little smaller than a clothes hanger. Thank you for your help I greatly appreciate it.
Paperclip
What if those 2 little things doesn’t come out when rewinding the starter coil?
something may be wrong
How can high idle on toro recycler be adjusted it's too high on mine
idle adjustment screw on the carburetor
@@JeffsLittleEngineService that's what I figured it was the screw on carb. Some guy said these have no adjustment. . !
Rather have a briggs than a Powermore. But Honda over everything.
the 3 bolts on my honda quadra came stripped out and not cant be tightened.
I always do 7 turns. Put a little blue loctite on those studs. Is this a Kohler engine?
7 me too! Kohler or Powermore I cannot remember
@@JeffsLittleEngineService Its a powermore. These clones fool a lot of people.
Do you work on moped engines too?
I can but I don't @ my business
Those mowers out dated my G
LOL!
😂😂😂😂😂
My pull robe broke lol
my clips won't open and close....everything else is good
Good video; you are moving to fast thou
