WINDY ROCK HUNT | Hunting for Carnelian on the Delaware River

- Today we're hunting for carnelian on the Delaware River in New Jersey! Well, not quite today... This video was actually filmed wayyyyy back in December, but I thought it was a lost cause because the truly crazy wind wrecked my audio quality. I finally decided to take another crack at editing it four months later and was pleased to discover that it could be salvaged. I cut out the worst of the wind noises, but headphone users should still proceed with caution. Thankfully, I have since invested in a fancy mic for rock hunting that magically cancels out wind noise, so we should be good to go moving forward. Fingers crossed.
I did find a few fun things despite the cold and the wind. Take a shot (OF WATER) every time I say, "This one might be carnelian." I promise you will be well and truly hydrated by the end of this video.
Also if you get the Jenna Marbles reference in the middle then ily.

If you ever decide to do the typical UA-camr merch, you should sell reddish orange shirts/hoodies that say “it might be carnelian”
That would definitely be on brand 😂
I am absolutely enjoying your rock finding adventures! The potato one got me because I said it right before you did 😂
the hunting rock videos are the best!!!!
I think I was 12 the first time I picked up rocks I liked at the beach and took them home. And then more. And then more. I'm 35 now and I've taken them along with me ever since 😅
This is the first time I heard about rock tumbling and I am amazed! You mean to tell me my rocks are even MORE beautiful than I already thought they were? 🤯
Today I picked up a rock and threw it at a bigger rock and it broke and it was A GEO ❤❤❤❤❤❤
What good fines. Would have enjoyed walking along with you and enjoying the day. Happy rock hunting.
I have been rock hunting since I was little and I also really enjoy your channel, you are funny and I have been learning a lot. I love when you post.
I have an emotional support water bottle too. I never thought of it that way but umm I don’t go anywhere without it…oh my gosh maybe that’s what it is.
When Tervis discontinued the style I bought 5 to have as backups.
It’s spill proof and stainless. I can put ice and water in it and it still be cold that night if needed.
Can't wait for more of your videos.
Watching from metro Detroit. I LOVE your videos.
Also, this site you were at is beautiful 😍
That giant rock is called leaverte, unless you have a very strong back and lots of muscle and determination, I'm seeing some good jaspers, I think you missed couple nice carnelian just to the left of that big rock. You're fun.
I followed you here from the clock app. Your shenanigans have inspired me. I just put a huge chunk of trolleite in a tumbler to see if I can get it shiny. I also have some plans to (carefully) tumble some amber in my resin scraps and bad castings just to see what happens.
Aww, thank you so much for coming over! I’m trying to move most my content over here anyway. Let me know how the trolleite and amber go!! I’ve never tried either but I have some trolleite ready to go 👀
As a midwesterner, the wrinkled fingers during the windy day made me cringe. That feeling makes you feel like your fingers might fall off at any second lolololol
Hope you bring gloves out on future outings, I like using gloves where you can pull off the tips if you need to feel smthn
I really really like your videos and I am a subscriber
Omg I’m so excited I just ordered some of ur pastel emo confetti crystal mix and I just cannot wait to see what I get love ur vids 🫶🤩✨
I said sweet potato before you said it! I’m next to the Pacific Ocean. And I don’t know squat about rocks! Is it pruddy, I’ll keep it! I’m enjoying your channel❣️What is stag stone? Last winter we had big storms that brought us tons of wood❗️I collected some anyway. Peace out 🕊️🩵🪨
I might have some untumbled carnelian
where was this in nj?
They have said the NJ side across from Philly. Understandably I don't think they want to say publicly exactly where but if you're local and already beach comb/mudlark/rock hound in the area you can tell where.
Anywhere Along the Delaware are some nice rocks. I hear the further north you go you can find amber. I've found a lot of fun stuff in these areas on both the NJ and Philly side.
@@foxhoundp9949 interesting as surface geology of south jersey is super boring if you're a rock fan, it's mostly sandy unconsolidated coastal plane formation
@@Voujdjr that's not true at all.... There's books on books about all the rocks and gems you can find just sitting in streams and by the river. I've found tons of different stones. I think you need get outside and actually look. Maybe Google abit too cause you are just flat out wrong
Now I regret replying to you and being friendly. Thanks.
I live in jersey as well ..would l Iike to know your location at this site. Thank you
I don't think they wanna say their exact location but they said once before they're across from Philly. I'm in NJ too, you can find a lot of fun stuff along any shore line you can make it to along the Delaware on either side. I find gorgeous stones all along the south Jersey Delaware river front including these gorgeous black slabs of Mica!
I'm a shy mudlarker and often go at night but if ya see a red haired punky looking alt person say hi!
