Yep. I'm 14. I've got me a 1978 f250 4 speed, 4x4, and a 2 speed brown box. 12 valve Cummins, 200 hp injectors, tuned pump, and a 67mm turbo. 3.80 posi gears, Dana 60 front and rear, rolling on 16x9 helo rims, and 33" Toyo AT3's. Dual 6" stacks, straight pipe, and a self made header. its not done but that is my plan.
71 F-250, 390V8. 12th grade.
10 th grade with a 71 f250 highboy. 351w motor with 37s

Love those old F100s! Back in Senior year I had a '73 390 4bbl 4x4 4spd lifted 6" on 33s. dual straight pipes that each exited right behind each door, miss it so much! Now it's 7 years later... got a Civic with a fart can 😕

Kody Johnson Not gonna lie, it did look funky and surely could have fit larger tires like you said, tires were like new when I bought it so I never did change them out. And thanks! Don't ever sell yours lol the 68's had the best body style imo, I'm sure that 390 with cams etc. is killer! mine was bone stock.

i did this with my piece of junk firebird later in the day i was called down to the office and was suspended from driving to school so i parked next door at a gas station then i was called down again and suspended for a longer time

thecraig909 I Highly recommend the magnaflow super 40 series, I straight piped right after the headers on my 4.6L (bored out 4.3L) 305 and every head around turns xD top speed run 92.1mph in third out of 4 gears

Dakota Inman sorry I forgot to mention its a '85 vortec so yes it is a 305 inch gm motor, dont believe me google 1985 chevy astro 4.3L, when you bore out the cylinders/block ect you are also increasing the displacement when you do a few other internal upgrades since the motor has to be dropped to do anything other than basic maintenance.Obviously you understood what brand I was talking about and thanks for correcting that ;)

My first truck was an '81 f100 with a 300 straight 6 and a 3 on the tree. Loved that truck.

column stick shift manual with clutch. its the same as driving a stick with a clutch you just shift it on the column

all through school I had a 1993 k1500 single cab short bed 5.7 with straights. no cat, no muffler/glass pack just 2 3/4" pipe true duals. used to set off car alarms climbing in it leaving school hahah. those were the days

The problem you ran into is the reason I used shorty tube headers on a '64 F100 I built. Put in a 351W with a T10, left the 6 cylinder third member in it-was posi track/limited slip already. Missouri statues at that time were with mufflers, could stop at back of cab. Without, to the rear bumper. Ran mine out the end of Cherry Bomb see through at back of cab. Yours' is a sweet truck, keep it even if it's under a tarp.
i would love to do this with my foxbody but it has a good sounding flowmaster exhaust and i don't want to deal with taking it off and putting it back on but i want to get a 70s or 80s f250 with a 460 which would be brutal with open headers I'm a junior right now so it's a possibility

I remember when I was in high school I had a 74 K5 with a full top instead of the half top. I ran that truck for a while with open headers like that and people were always looking expecting some hotrod lol and it was just my old rust bucket. I took that truck everywhere... some places that I was probably lucky to make it out of lol. Enjoy your youth kid, itll be gone before you know it...

My brother had a 69 Caddy with a 472 big block. Last day of school Junior year he left auto shop (last class of the day) with open headers. I would have sworn it sounded like a B52 taking off. Before he made it out of the parking lot, nearly the whole school was outside their classrooms looking to see what the racket was.
He mentioned later that night that he had a lot of ringing in his ears. He was like that for a week or so.

Yup, for like two months I drove my '87 LTD Crown Vic 2-door with a 302 to school with open cats. It was loud and droned like crazy. I tried to scare the pretty girls with it when they'd walk past haha.

After I dropped my 351W into my 83 Fox I drove it around the block with it on open short tube headers and had this old lady come by later in the evening, totally thought she was gonna chew me out for no insurance, open headers, and no hood. Turns out I thought the complete opposite she said something like "I've never heard something sound so nice drive around the block, nice car young man"

I have a 75 international pickup with the 345 and glass packs... It's kinda slow, but damn is it LOUD. I pull up to ricers and rev it up right next to their window and see the looks on their faces... priceless. Both are very nice trucks, but I recommend you clear coat that before the patina turns into actual rust.

I get to go into school at 7:30 while everyone has to go at 6:30 and my principal said I couldn't drive my Nova with a 427 that was used in a Steve McCullen Nitro dragster in the 80's to school because it was a "distraction". I've got a 69 c20. Never got to drive it too school cause I haven't gotten it running yet. I've got a 350 4 bolt main with an rv cam at the shop rn. Plan on putting it in my truck with a sm465 and a gear vendors overdrive. The engine is getting a victor junior intake with a holley 750 double pumper, 1.94 camelhump heads, hooked competition ceramic coated headers, true dual straight pipe exhaust either side exits or dumped at the axle. And I'm stuck on debating over charry bomb glasspacks or Flowmaster super 10s atm. I'm really leaning on the glasspack side tbh. Safe truckin

I'm 17 and my dad and I built a 69 f100 with a 70 cab and 71 flatside bed just like yours, we junked the 302 for a 390bbl from a ford t bird and when I was 15 we pulled it out for the first time in 5 years, he handed me the keys to it when I got my license. I drove it to school the first and second day but on the second day I got a little rambunctious and set off 6 car alarms in the parking lot. Seeing you do this reminds of that last year and I love it. I have some videos from a while back on my channel check it out! Love to see these beasts on the road, nothing like that dead steering feel know what I mean?

My Dad had a old 70 Chevy Truck, 406 Small Block with headers and just enough pipe to come out just behind the doors.......the Ol Truck was rough,but it sounded like a Monster,drove it to School a few times,poor truck looked like a short bed version of Farm Truck.
I used to run a 85 burb on open header in high school defiantly pissed a few people off. Still have the truck to this day just got a little better acquainted to flowmaster haha

my uncle did that with his 57 Chevrolet with a corvette V8 engine back in the 1970s or 80s he got suspended for the open headers. after that, he removed the open headers switch from the dash.
When I lived in Texas I did the same thing with my 79 bronco for like 3-4 months
my boss had one of these big blocks. this is the way trucks should feel. I use to take it to get lunch and parts.

Reminds me of an '04 Trailblazer I took to school. It was a piece of shit with a bad trans (slipped in 3rd) that we were using for parts, so by this point I cut off the catalytic converter to get some pocket money, and then at school, rev bombed it. Teacher wasn't happy, but some of the kids were like "I never knew a 6 cylinder Trailblazer sounded so good"
I used to have a 92 Silverado 2500 with 350 open headers. Boy did it scream. Especially in the winter in Canada drifting.
