@ BL Restoration... Just a safety item for you... Never lubricate any part of the commutator or armature with any petroleum based lubricants. These parts do not contact each-other when powered up. If the grease gets too hot it will ignite when it comes into contact with the operating carbon brushes. If you feel you need to seal this area, spray silicon is the best option then let it dry. Never use petroleum based products in this area. They also attract dust and dirt which will eventually damage the equipment you just restored. Other than that suggestion, great job. Keep it up.
Great job. But I advise you to check the gearbox again. 17:12 grease the gear that is not secured by the retaining ring. 17:17 close the gearbox without the gear stopper. I hope you noticed and installed it 😀👍👍👍
Surprised that you didn’t have an ultrasonic toothbrush with different brush heads to clean various layers and parts. Thanks for sharing this video. You have amazing talent. Cheers,
For sunbaked plastic, you want to get every last bit of the sunbaked layer away before you paint it. It's no longer a part of the main body so it'll flake away under the paint. Secondly, don't paint plastic without a primer and don't go heavy on the first coat - or any coat. The paint chemicals react with the plastics and cause gases to rise below the surface which cause the surface to bubble, never the mind all the paint running as it dries.

I am sure lubrication should never come between the two pieces of the actual motor plus lots of parts should have been replaced not just cleaned .. that thing will fizzle very quickly if it will ever work right at all
Excellent work, it was beautiful. I had the impression that the induced rotor is burnt out because at 11:45 it is possible to see some sections of the damaged collector. Congrats.

I enjoyed watching your video, many thanks. One question; when you use sandpaper on the laminations - don't you then short them out and cause more eddy currents - and hence more heating and lower efficiency of the motor? I know it is a big NO-NO to use sandpaper on the laminations of a transformer.

@@CaspianWint In other videos on youtube people fixing angle grinders says that gearbox must be full of grease because the gear when spinning spreads the grease around and gets it's self dry. I don't know if this is true but in my angle grinder i see the grease all around and so few on the gear.
What an interesting place to find a broken angle grinder.
