You just bought her a car.
Not if he takes it for a drive and trades it in. After all it’s his too.
I love Dave’s reaction, “ wait wait wait , we aren’t married, there is no we ! ”
Truth
I know it's coming every time someone says "we" about their gf/bf 😂
😂😂😂 Dave is hilarious. But truthful.
marriage is a scam. You can be with someone for 30 years and love each other and never marry. or get married and divorced in a month. I believe the 30 year couple is more of a "we".
Maryline Happy hahaha! He's great!
I cosigned $20k+ for my sister in law's student loan. It was one of the scariest days of my life cause i felt like signed my life away to the devil...i backed out the next day...she hasn't spoken to me til this day. Thank God i did cause she failed out first semester and is now my ex sister in law.
Excellent decision. My son went to a vocational college and I told him I wasn't going to co-sign. When he was struggling to pay back the loan, I matched what he paid and eventually helped him pay it off. I was so glad I never co-signed.
I absolutely lost it 🤣🤣 when the 190000 on the banner changed to 150000
Shawn Lancaster 😂😂😂
I caught that too! At least the hole he dug himself in is slightly less deep (although he is still drowning either way).
Technically it's still 190k, 40 of it is just in limbo just waiting for the gf to stop making payments
Then to "trying to make sense of my finances" at the end of the video hahaaa
Oh God! Me too!!!
A student loan debt of $150K with a degree in left-handed puppetry, LOL!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That was funny
😂😂😂
Man...that guy deserves to be in the hole that deep for being that stupid.
I lost it when he said this...reminds me of my dad 🤣
"Su- su- su- sometime in the next two years..." JUST FREAKIN ADMIT YOU NEVER HAD ANY PLANS TO MARRY
He knows that he's being used. Poor bozo.
Don't you think, that she's using him?. And she's the one, who doesn't wanna marry?
He has just, basically, given her 40k brand new car. I rarely hear that cost at Dave's show.
It all sounds to me, that she a gold digger and he is just a stepping stone to a bigger goal.
I'm surprised their parents aren't pressuring them.
👏
Dave is right! Don't combine finances until marriage.
Never Co-Sign for anyone... Don't put yourself in a bind for anyone, it isn't worth it, their problem should STAY THEIR PROBLEM, and never should be your problem too.
I learned this a little too late
I couldn't write a comedy skit this funny 😂
Please don't give Dave a heart attack. Get marry today!
Don't play house and co sign on loans!
It would be cheaper for him to just leave her now and pay the 40k for the car and learn a lesson
Don't know why people are spending 30-40 grand on stupid cars. You can easily get a decent used one for 1/3rd of that. New cars are so expensive its ridiculous. We need to stick it to the auto companies and not buy their overpriced vehicles.
it’s like they don’t even look at the year old used ones
Yep right on. I've embraced buying a car with a dent or scratch because then you don't even care about getting that first dent.
All relative. 30-40k is nothing to some folk
Most people don’t want the place they spend hours in to be used. To a lot of people saying “get a used car” is like saying “get all used clothes and home furnishings”.
I completely understand not wanting a used car and I’ll wear my car to the last mile to buy a new one. I ain’t buying used over my dead body.
poor dude is toast... 100% guaranteed rekt for the next two lives
🤣🤣🤣
Don’t put that destiny on him. He can make it out
Anyone else do a double take when his first words were "Hey Ramsey how you doing?"
So, disrespectful and ignorant. These kids today! LOL!
I brought a young guy over to my house once to meet my parents. He said "hey Pat!" To my mom when he was first introduced. Never came over again.
@@lindsay833 Good judgement on your part. You will address my parents properly until they give you permission to do otherwise.
Drew so
What in the boomer are yall complaining about ???
Boy there are some real boneheads out there with money....omg!!!
If he had money he wouldn’t have needed to sign a loan.
Thank you Dave for being one of the few people that teaches common sense personal financial management and traditional ethical values in a time where it seems that everyone has gone crazy and stupid. Your wisdom truly means a lot to me, especially since I have started a new job, begun studying for my CPA exams, and have been managing paying for grad school. Whenever I’m struggling, your words help me push through the tough times. I will continue to listen to you everyday!
Keep going !
He was so scared to say he co-signed on that car LOL
Perhaps he realized in that very moment that his girlfriend played him
Dave was so mad he didn’t give the guy a space to talk. Don’t get Dave mad! He was Country Mad too.
My parents won’t even co sign for me and you’re co-signing for your girlfriend?
This relationship is DEEP
Cherry Tung - Finance & Fashion who asked you?
@C&G/G&C what can I say, maybe it's fate?
@@ErrorPagenotFound-ig1cy I don't remember asking you either
Cherry Tung - Finance & Fashion i asked eddy, but I didn’t ask you
Richard Leston lol. Maybe it is fate.
*That is a huge car loan for the existing amount of debt*
I could never cosign for a car... Or I own the car or nothing
I mean there are benefits to leasing a car.
@@gangatalishis yeah benefit to the lessor and not to the one making the payments.
@@gangatalishis No there isn't.
Didn’t he know who he was calling!?? Even I knew the answer to that! Can’t say “we” if you are not married around Mr. Ramsey! He will chew your head off!
Love how Dave always Mutes them towards the end not allowing them to speak. Then tells them what a mess they have made of life. 😀
Never ever consign even if you have a wife.
😭😂👌🏾
You wouldn't need to, you would just buy it.
So, I shouldn't co-sign for side-chick's car while I'm married. Ok, got it.
He’s addicted to the kitty. The kitty is not worth a bad decision like that bud. C’mon man!
The juice ain't worth the squeeze. And it doesnt come at a price of 40k
S-I-M-P. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
All it takes is a good kitty or a good BJ to have these betas doing stupid stuff like this.
@@Ricardo_C 😁😁😁😁😁👍
Joshua that’s a bar and a half lol gotta let me take that one!!
Next he’s going to be crying he found out she was sleeping with his best friend. Ffs what is with all of these boyfriends and girlfriends acting like husband and wife? Nothing but trouble.
being married never stopped a wife from sleeping with her husbands best friend
Ish H never said it did.
No sympathy. It's 2019 and people are STILL cosigning?!?! At what point do we have to say that people who can't get with the program deserves whatever ends up happening to them cos of their bonehead decisions?
My brother co-signed for his girlfriend's car - RIP to his finances after they broke up and she decided to stop making payments.
Ppl keep thinking DR is so old skool with his methods but NO. He is absolutely right. U guys break up, she starts screwing ur best friend and stops making payments. Wat do u do then? Nothing, ur credit is in the tank and she still has the car. Idiots.
king kong that can happen while being married as well 😂
Eehhh😬😬😬
I don't sign period. I either buy my girlfriend a car or I don't. Same with cars for myself.
@@CerronPritchett Yes, but then you have the court system and laws.
Dag Dave! He didnt even get a chance to ask his question!😂 Dave really chewed him up!
That's what happen when you play house.🤔😂😜😜😂
she told him co sign for this car or your not getting anymore cookie
America is a real mess.
They will never get married in few months they will say I don't feel attracted towards you
Oh Lord Save America as right now it's Just Hit it and Quit it!
Kejriwal saara punjab tere naal America - all of the Western world for that matter - is for money, not for love!
Berto has his own home while this female is leeching of him.
This guy reminds us that we need post-nut clarity before making any decisions.
When simping goes bad.
So many things wrong with this........ 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
$40,000 car, co-signed, fact that it isn’t even his car
Poor Berto .Rice and beans buddy.
Beans and rice...
Why did she need a consignor?
Exactly!
We'll never know.....
She's broke and credit wasn't good enough to get her own car, problem solved.
For a $40k car.. she doesn’t sound conservative at al!!!
because she's inresponsible and broke
I'm in school right now for "left handed puppetry" what are you saying Dave?
It's in the catalogue right next to "underwater basket weaving"
Jo S and German Polka History
Co-signing isn’t a small favor in fact, it’s not a favor at all
He asked for financial advice not moral or relationship advice.
I'm surprised he didn't say "sell the car."
He be so mean but so real though. 💯
Uncle Dave goin' in on this dude. Seldom agree 100% with anyone
Translation: He makes 120k a year and bought little miss independent a 40k car. Pay off the car and get out. The sooner you dump her the better your life will be.
Dave Ramsey is so SHADDDDDYYYYYYYY ....and I love it 😂😂
I guess shady doesn't mean what it used to mean in my time. What do you mean by shady?
Jose Laverde - Shady can still mean deceptive or deceitful, but now it also can mean to be judgmental, but often in a somewhat subtle way. There’s a common slang phrase now “throwing shade” that is related.
More like “savage “, not shady.
@@brittanygulley8026 yeah that's what I remember it meaning. I didn't know it meant judgemental. Thanks!
@@ceecee8757 The word "savage" makes sense here. He's direct, he's not shady at all.
I feel a bit bad for the guy didn't event get to ask why he called for lol.
He got one pumped.
Hahahaha seriously. He got blown to the knees before he could even say what his reason for calling lol
He asked for it. Dave is a marriage first man so of course dude was doing to get roasted.
His question didn't matter. They need to get married, then call.
Update: He proposed. She said no.
Simp 101 boys please take note of this before. I would never co sign anyone’s car if they can move their limbs, speak English and have a social security they can work.
Contracts are like hearts, they’re made to be broken.
You just know how this is gonna go, he will be dumped in time and she will accidently on purpose not pay for the car. There is a very fine line between love and hate, if this plays out how i think it will he may love her now but he will definitely grow to despise her!
These dudes gotta know that they're about to get roasted.
"A degree in left handed puppetry" hahahaha
You just bought your room mate a car. 😂 Confusing....she's good enough to sleep with and ruin your finances for, but not that good you'll marry here. 😂
I wish we’d been able to hear what the income disparity is between them
Wth...the Berto Titanic just sunk! 1, never co-sign for anything for anyone; 2, you two are ROOMMATES, not married; and 3, GET MARRIED OR ONE OF YOU WILL HAVE TO GET AN APARTMENT!!!
Dave was so right!
Caller never even got to his question.
They’re not getting married.
As a puppeteer lol "left handed puppetry".
My dad co-signed for me in 1987 to get a $1000 car. I paid it off in a couple months after I was at my job. I needed it to get back and forth to work.
Time to read “Free Agent Lifestyle” by Greg Adams. This combined with Dave Ramsey and you’ll go far...
If that fool would have taking the red pill he wouldn't be in that situation.
Zoraster is that a new book by Greg? Might have to check it out
J Williams yeah, came out in April
I read that book. Shout out to coach gang!!! He's a good man.
Hey, a member of the Coach Gang 💪
Marry the people’s daughter!!!!!!!!!!!!! Honour her and protect yourself. Dave we need more mentors like you! I’m a 34 year old woman and I refuse to shack up!
“Get married!” Click. @2:42 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼😹😹😹
I sure hope she dont leave you. If you see some other guy driving that car, they'll have to put you in a rubber room.😂😂😂😂😂
Could she not walk away when they are married and he be stuck with the debt??
@@Thathat-o7w so signing a legal document isn't valid unless married? If you sign your name on the dotted line you are equally responsible for the payment married or not
@Anne Day I appreciate your well thought out respose. But, regardless if you are married or not you both stand to lose something in this equation. If it's the house you own together, the house you own individually, file a judgment against you, or just empty out your bank account. As a co-signer the risk is still there. So who determines if the risk is worth it if you're married versus single
She wants a car? Fine but she just had to get a $40 freaking thousand dollar car ???????????????????
AND YOU COSIGNED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As if she's going to contribute AT ALL to his debt.
Hey Berto take one guess why shes with you. It's parked outside. I couldn't be with someone that needs a co-signer.
The small head signed that note.
Oh was that your girlfriend??? She came and picked me up at my house the other day in that car. Told me she was single...... weird.
A woman makes the home, A man protects the home. Old fashion but the truth. The problem arises when things aren’t done in the right order.
I watched half this video with my hand over my face.
Getting my popcorn and drinks ready for this one.
Did she really NEED a $40K?.. She obviously thinks she’s too good to buy HERSELF a $20K (or less), vehicle.
What was his question?
I love how the subtile changed when he gave his own debt xD
Made this mistake once I got lucky and got out of it unscathed, but most don’t. My rule now is if they need a co-signer for anything that says they have been terrible with money so stay away and JUST SAY NO!!
How did you come out unscathed?
I can tell Dave's deep sigh took some effort this time around.
Yeah Dave, no judge is gonna help you if you are not married. The millions of divorced men who got relieved of half their net worth can relate...
You are so correct.
I honestly don't know why the system favors women so much. It doesn't matter who files for divorce, the man always has to give up the dough.
I disagree with Dave on this one. He suggests Berto get married. Berto would be jumping out of the frying pan into the fire if he does. If sometime down the road his wife decides to get a divorce she could wind up with the house and Berto could wind up with nothing. I've seen it happen many times before. If they have kids together then Berto will not only be paying alimony but child support as well. The best thing Berto could do is kick this girl out of his life altogether. MEN stay single. You'll have way more money in your bank account not to mention peace of mind.
@@derek4412 I assume you mean married women. Most single women barely have two nickels to rub together.
i just love Dave!
One thing I disagree with Dave on is how he tells people like this they are "acting married." Marriage is about saying to each other that we have a shared dream and we want to get there together and are willing to balance our current wants with our future goals. If you aren't excited about your future in that way, then you aren't "acting married" even if you are sleeping together or paying each others' debts. And these people are not thinking nearly far enough ahead to be ready for marriage.
"A degree in left-handed puppetry." Dave you are hilarious!!!! 🤣🤣🤣
If he co-signed & she leaves, what are his options? I'm assuming his name isn't on the car, just the loan.
I have a question: in Canada if a couple cohabitants for one year, then under Cdn law you are married. Is there such a thing in the US as common law "marriages"?
Playing house never works people! Wake up! 🤦🏽♀️
Poor Berto, that relationship will not end well. I am expecting a judge Judy episode in their near future
What's interesting is if the roles were switched and this had been a girl calling..everyone including Dave would have sympathy for the girl and call the guy a scumbag who is using her. no one would say "get married"
Nope, Dave is death on anyone co-signing anything. His philosophy is if they are asking for a co-signer it's their way of announcing this person can't afford it, so we want somebody else we can go after.
No judge will protect you?! Like any judge has ever protected a man in a divorce? HA!
Negative interest rates are coming get out of debt now.
@Anne Day nope they charge you for keeping money in the bank... And in order to keep it negative rates going the government has to keep printing more money to keep rates down making the USD even more worthless.
@Anne Day Anne the only real money is gold and silver they keep printing our money non stop go look at the u.s. debt clock.
I’m so glad he said we aren’t married. I played that game but I was convicted by the Holy Spirit, and God told me to marry now! If you love her; playing house isn’t the answer!
Ramsey should use a Laura Schlesinger line: "You have a ring and a date?"
We, wee, wee, wee, Dam lol sounded straight like Geico Maxell the pig commercial. Honestly look it up lol :D
Dude, I'm a believer and I love Dave Ramsey but I think he should have asked Berto, "What is keeping you from marrying this woman?". If it's something that won't change or a deep seated problem, then I'd suggest having her refinance the loan under just her name at a Credit Bureau with a "lower interest rate" (This is the reason when she asks why) and then start evaluating whether he still needs to be with this girl. You can get rid of the debt you latched yourself onto and not risk losing half of the value of your house marrying some woman you know you shouldn't be with. These days in America unfortunately a judge really won't help you either if you get a divorce anyway.
He did ask "What's the holdup?" (see 2:01) but didn't really give Berto much of a chance to respond. I also would've liked to hear that answer.
C'mon bro! Just get married. Don't chicken out.
Haha ive seen couples without having been married still together for over 10+ years whereas some that ive seen havent even made it 2 years married and are already going through a divorce , marriage is nonesense , people will do whatever they want to do whether theres a ring on their finger or not . There is nothing to be chicken about when you know you lose every which way
@@johnnymartinez2917 Yes but at least keep everything separate and don't cosign on loans!
Protecting your finances by not giving a woman lifetime access to your finances isn't chickening out, it's called being smart.
@@luminous6969 sure...lol
It's true whether you laugh or not.
NNNNNOOOOOOOO!!!!!! My car didn’t even cost that much and I brought my car by myself brand new! I didn’t need a co-signer neither!
I wouldn’t co-sign anything with anyone, not even my husband!
I totally agree. I bought myself a car in 2013 with a loan of 10k. I paid off that loan in 5 year. I'm enjoying the debt free life, saving for emergency to buy with cash next time.
Bertos girlfriends next boyfriend is going to enjoy the fact that Berto paid for her car.
NEVER CO-SIGN FOR ANYTHING WITH ANYONE.
Dave speaks the truth about "there is no we", and this guy is on the hook for $40k, but I'm here to tell you that is getting off cheap if he gets married and isn't in it for the long haul. Divorce can be way more expensive than that. So, don't get married to get out of an issue like this, you get married because you are in it "together" for the long haul. Also know as "till death do us part". (Wish I'd known that before marrying the "till I don't feel like it anymore" gal.
And a broken heart 🤣😂 .. that was so funny
You know how I knew my gf was wifey material? When I bought a $25k car, instead of being happy for the purchase of a flashy red sports car that we can now go out in, she was upset and said I should've saved that money for my future or a home.
I sold the car years ago and we've been happily married now for 4 years 😎
Yea because when she divorces you she's keeping that home
Debt makes you want to get married? I think not. My ex wife tried to get me to finance a whole bedroom suite before she filed for divorce. I did not cave in to her mess. Men need to stop being a lifesaver to these women. When you done what all you can do for her, she'll jump ship and on to the next guy. Nowadays, stay humble to yourself.
