  • In this video I review the Kingbolen BM520 battery analyser. The BM520 has 3 main functions: battery test, charging / alternator by way of a ripple test, and its also a multimeter. The in vehicle tests also include a load test, start test, and waveform. I found the BM520 to be a great value, as the cost was not high for what the tool will do for you.
    If you want to check out any other testers, or scanners. KingBolen is a big supplier and has very good prices, often cheaper than Amazon:

    Nice review, I like how you can see the alternator output. Didn't think it could do that, thanks for the video.

    Hi. Nice review. I could see that the maximum Ah is 220 but is the minimum Ah 10 or could one select as low as 2Ah.

    • @GarageKing
      @GarageKing  Рік тому

      Hey there, I believe the minimum is 10Ah, which is a pretty small battery.

      @@GarageKing , Ty for the information. I purchased a OBDResource BM 520 meter (ordered it on Amazon India e-store but I am yet to receive it) which should most probably have the same specs as the Kingbolen BM 520. The product description and images mention that the Ah testing range is 2Ah to 220Ah, so I wanted to confirm with you. Well, since you own the product and have hands on experience, I guess, I will take your word on it rather than believe what the product description says. I have a Honda scooter which uses a 12v 3 or 4 Ah battery and a Suzuki motorcycle that uses a 12v 6Ah battery. I will have to look for another battery tester that can test smaller batteries. Kindly suggest me one if you might know. Thanks once again.

      @@ennemm9265 Hey There, I just went out to the garage and checked and the tester does go down to 2 Ah, so I can confirm that. Sorry about that, but it will go to 2 Ah. If you have any other questions just let me know. Thanks !!

    Can you please test it against a volt meter and show us the percentage on both to see if there's accuracy?

    • @GarageKing
      @GarageKing  Рік тому +1

      Hey There and thanks for the comment. A volt meter will not show the percentage left of life. That is calculated by the a resistance applied by the tool (If I'm thinking right) the volt meter will only show the voltage, not the percentage. If you would like I can measure the voltage with the BM520 and then the voltage with a voltmeter to see if they are the same volts, but it will not be percentage.

      @@GarageKing sorry, my bad yes the Voltage reading, battery analyzer vs voltmeter reading.

      @@404notfound..... Sure thing, I will measure it tomorrow and let you know :) I may even post a video on the shorts feed as well :)

      @@404notfound..... OK so I tested it today, it is out about .3V and its consistent. I tested the voltage using a good quality multimeter, and Snap On voltage probe. The thing is this product really isn't designed for measuring voltage on its own, I'm not defending it, but the use is really for waveform, and ripple for alternator, so the .3V for actual voltage measurement doesn't really matter much. Remember it does't have probes like a multimeter, it has clamps.
