I remember getting detention in middle school P.E for screeching “I wanna run through your wicked garden” loud enough to drown out an important P.A announcement. Worth it.
Lol
I once got detention for scratching stuff into my table during class, one was "I know you want what's on my mind", my teacher was like wtf
Once i was too early in class looked around and sang: I am Smelling like a rose that somebody gave me on my birthday death bed
🤘
Lmfao
STP is by far one of the Greatest rock bands to ever exist. Listen to all their songs and how can you not be a fan.
Awww not another one🙄 clearly they were very good but NEVER one of the greatest Rock bands ever, not even close. Dont be stupid.
Music will most likely never be this good again. We gotta hold onto stuff like this and make sure our children grow up listening to the good stuff. Children are prob better off living in a 90’s bubble 😂 What I’d do to get to live those times as an adult.
I like STP but this song is so boring. The musical equavilant of treading water

Nobody has the lyrics up so I’ll put them up
Can you see like a child?
Can you see what I want?
I wanna run through your wicked garden
Heard that's the place to find you
'Cause I'm alive, so alive now
I know the darkness blinds you
Can you see without eyes?
Can you speak without lies?
I wanna drink from your naked fountain
I can drown your sorrows
I'm gonna burn, burn you to life now
Out of the chains that bind you
Can you see just like a child?
Can you see just what I want?
Can I bring you back to life?
Are you still alive?
Burn, burn, burn, burn, burn
Burn your wicked garden down
Burn, burn, burn, burn, burn
Burn your wicked garden to the ground, yeah
Can you feel pain inside?
Can you love?
Can you cry?
I wanna run through your wicked garden
Heard that's the place to find you
'Cause I'm alive, so alive now
I know the darkness blinds you
Can you see just like a child?
Can you see just what I want?
Can I bring you back to life?
Are you still alive?
Burn, burn, burn, burn, burn
Burn your wicked garden down
Burn, burn, burn, burn, burn
Burn your wicked garden to the ground, yeah
Phenomenal song
The 90s had real Rock and Real Country music. What a great decade for great music.
Wicked Garden. Wicked band. Wicked album. Wicked singer.
Agree
wicked freakin brothers too
i agree!
+Andrei Tanase yeah man
GenXtasy Wicked dancer.
2024... still listening to this masterpiece of MTV's golden period.
The concert portion of this video was filmed in downtown San Diego. STP was going to film the video & then do a free show afterwards. My friend & I were in line for the show & we got pulled out of the line & invited inside for the filming. They performed the song several times in a row to make the video. It was awesome! I like to remind my kids that their mom was a hottie in her 20’s! :)
Hey! She's probably still a hottie!
You probably look better now
You tell your kids that their mom was hot?? Wtf ... thats just fkin gross.
I was too young to go see them (15 or so), but shit that didn't stop me from playing their music 24/7. Love STP!!🤟🏻🤟🏻
Robert DeLeo is one sadly underrated bass player.
Reading this made my day. He's awesome!
Andey McFarlin what is an under rated bass player? I don't think he's under rated because everyone that likes the band knows how good he is, and that's all that matters.
No doubt. But, hell...the whole band was underrated and one of the best alt/metal bands of that time. To me, Core was the best album, love how Dean plays heavier riffs than the other albums. But, they'll all good albums, though.
Ffkkffd
+Ikue P 😍
A legend laid to rest. No more demons. You will be remembered and loved.
Yes
God created Satan. my observation.
Jason Barbush that is a great comment that can be taken the wrong way. But I am picking up what you are putting down. You can't have hot without cold or night without day. BLANCE!!!
Moron, is what your mother created
Death is the great liberator.
If anyone cares...this video was filmed at the old club soma in downtown San Diego. Video shoot during the day and a free concert at the same venue that night. KGB FM announced the video shoot that morning and whoever got there b4 noonish was let in. luckily at the time I was happily living unemployed in downtown SD.
I was standing above Eric's kit during the shoot. Director told us to shake the chicken wire fence fast as we could. walked away with some bloody knuckles but still worth it. So long ago. Weiland was quiet but cool. spoke to us bit. no ego
Interesting
Thats sick, thanks for the fun fact!
Awesome! I loved catching shows at Soma when I lived in SD. Is it not there anymore?
That’s something that wouldn’t happen anymore nowadays. Today they’d charge you at the door and jack up the price of everything unfortunately...
Outstanding!
The chorus to this song is one of the best heavy rock / alternative choruses of the era.
The basslines on the entire record are masterpieces. Everytime a best-bassist choice comes up, it is costumary that judges should look into Jazz. And Robert DeLeo remains underrated
The bass line in this song is the heaviest on the album
you are spot on..!!!
Robert DeLeo IS THE MAN!
Gotta say ...yep
I think what makes him special is his broad knowledge of music and his ability to create bass melodies that add a lot of depth and texture to the song. He's definitely one of my favorite alt-rock bassists for sure.
Can never get enough 90s Rock
Once you start to listen, there's no turning back. You're stucked. It's that good
90s for life
Para-grunge (parallel to grunge that is, though not a Seattle band)
The 90s were an amazing time for music, stone temple pilots, nirvana, AIC, green day, R kelly, soundgarden, Alice in chains. So much talent
Habs WC they are jams man 🤘🏼
STP got me through many lonely and hard times when I was a teenager! As I set here listening I can't help but be moved to my core all over again! It's crazy how music and lyrics can penetrate to our deepest beings. I am finding comfort in their music all over again! Rest in peace Scott. Your talent and lyrics are forever etched in my memories.
try Alter Bridge and Gojira
and don't be lonely
Check Out British band 'these wicked rivers' Definitely a solid STP vibe and incredible song writers. Their debut album is a scorcher. Seriously, damn good.
TARA I agree love ❤️ your comment 💯 PERCENT BRAVO 💯 👏 thanks Loretta
Was the “Core” pun intended or not intended?
@@ZackMorrisMyHero ~ I Sit Here Thinking Of ALL The Beauty Scott Weiland Could Have Given Us. Given The Whole World. Much More Than He Already Did!! It Breaks My Heart And Quite Honestly, I Have Cried Over It.
This song is still so fucking fire after more than 3 decades. Still one of my favourite '90s bands in the Alt-Rock era.
Nothing makes me happier than a healthy Scott singing his ass off and THE DANCING!
#TheDance
I saw him live, such a beautiful talented man, he was so handsome before drugs took hold; no body danced liked him either
Yeah . . , . .THE DANCING 😀 ! Love Sour Girl DANCING, and others.
Are you his widow ? Or, relative ?
Dude was far from healthy when he made this lol
That was the heroin dancing
Scott Weilands voice is like a bandaid to my soul...my heart will always be in the 90s and I will forever miss these talents we lost!!
Ah, the early 90s.
Is it crazy that a 63 year old female loves this??? I didn't think so 😂😂😂
Back when Scott was healthy and STP ruled the world. ❤
I'm falling in love with their music all over again. Scott was a genius. His lyrics are just incredible.
Nah AIC ruled it 😮
The best band of all time. Cant stop humming their songs
Same!
Hahaha not even close
This sounds so groovy. The DeLeo brothers are amazing I mean so underrated, the sound they produce is amazing, Eric's drumming is pretty solid and groovy and Scott's vocals fit nicely with the amazing music
It's ashamed Scott can't read these comments .....he truly was loved !
his children can....and will.
Joe Smith yes very sad awesome people die for nothing.
He was a awesome frontman
Oh he is reading this
He sees them
I remember seeing these guys open for Megadeth to support this release. The people that were there were not paying a whole lot attention to them... damn, if they only knew. I did get to see them 1 more time years later in a small venue... was one of the best shows I've ever been to.
Best driving down the hwy band ever.
You said it :)

Amazing vocals from Scott (obviously) and guitar from Dean Deleo but no one mentions how amazing the drummer Eric Kretz is. Simply fantastic drumming throughout STP's career.

So 90’s it hurts

Nobody makes music like this .❤
Not anymore, unfortunately.
R.I.P Scott Weiland, loved your music
Saw Scott Weiland in London Ontario. Just a few weeks before he died. You could see it coming. His eyes were like glass. I was only 10 feet away. Sad day.
When you have to work in that kind of business it's hard to be "on" so to speak every night so they get some help with drugs. Understandable
I could hear it on his guest DJ stint on the now gone 100.3 FM The Sound in Los Angeles. He sounded like he was going through the motions and didn't want to be there. This was months before he died.

Thanks for posting the lyrics awesome!
I like the WHAT I WANTTT part
1993 i remember this playin on radio and Mtv i was 15...awwww those were the days...love STP
So many emotions, but the words don't come. We will miss you. You were an artist, a poet. You wrote a lot of great songs. A little anger, a little interest..... a play on words here and there. You were a release of emotion for some of us. We played your albums loud. So sorry you are gone. Take care in the next life.
Growing up in the 90s was fucking boss period
RIP Scott Weiland (October 27, 1967 - December 3, 2015), age 48
You will be remembered as a legend
I'm still annoyed at him for leaving this planet!!!! with love of course
The Best Stone Temple Pilots Song.
Much like Pearl Jam, I was absolutely a fan of STP's first album. Still am! I remember MTV and local radio playing these songs in regular rotation in 1992 and 1993. I was a teenager and this song will always be a fond memory, especially during the endless summer vacation when I was riding my bike with the walkman on and hit play on the "Core" cassette tape. Not before flipping the 'mega bass' switch on, of course.
This album got me through a lengthy 3 week road trip with my family.
@@bluv1602 family trips are cool man 👽
Scott was such a Wicked good singer.Hopefully he is still singing in the next life.RIP Scott.
WOW What a lead singer. The dude has that presence/ aura about him that is way ahead of its time.
A ROCKSTAR!!!
God his voice was the epitome of cool. He didn’t even have to try. Smooth as silk
My favorite rock song as a kid -- no dirty lyrics, no "parental advisory" -- Just pure awesome rock. I will miss you Scott, you are one of the reasons I became a musician.

Always will remind me of an awsome time in my life! Thank you STP!

Huge crush on Scott in high school. One hell of a front man. RIP
I'm building a time machine back to 1992. Back to 6th grade and falling in love with rock music and this album in particular
Remember when this came out.. shit was rockin and still rocks to this day Rip Scott 🙏
In my opinion best band of the grunge era.
They are the most versatile of the Big Six of the 1990s Alternative Bands (The Seattle Four + STP + Smashing Pumpkins)!
Can you feel pain inside?
Can you love?
Can you cry?
Can I bring you back to life?
Are you still alieieieieieieieieieieieive?
Hiding close to the brown trout. Xoxo
Most underrated grunge/ hard rock band. This song brings tears to my 💙.
Great song
As always Scott’s voice is fucking amazing! But Robert’s bass line and Eric’s drum fills in this song are absolutely exquisite!
RIP Scott. What a debut album. One of the all time greats.
As rock was fizzling out ....These guys were kicking its ass.
One of the best tracks off Core.
Man this song just bumps
REST IN PEACE SCOTT YOUR MUSIC WILL LIVE FOREVER.
I was never a huge fan of STP, but I absolutely love some of their songs. This really hit home to me. Wish Scott didn't didn't fall off the rails. He was amazing in his youth.
I still greatly regret not going to their 2011 show when they came to my country!
The best rock band of all times , if there not already in the Rock and Roll hall of fame shame on them
Keep burnin' it down in the next life, Scott.
Burn it down with my brother, Paul, who passed of liver failer 2 months before u. He was 41.
Might have wanted to pick a better phrase than that...but otherwise I agree.
I just saw STP at Fort Campbell on July 4th this year...they still rock like never before 🤟
We miss you Scott!! Hope you're walking through your own beautiful garden somewhere in heaven.
Scott's voice CANNOT BE REPLACED! RIP musical genius.

How can you not like this song?
So true
STP will always rock my world. May you Rest in Peace Scott Weiland , one of my favorite front men of all time💝
I remember meeting somebody at a dance class. Her name was Alyssa, and she was really into Rock music and dance. As I had the same interests, we became friends. I introduced her to STP, and she absolutely adored them. After awhile of dancing and listening to STP, she said to me "You know, we should really create a dance for Wicked Garden. Mainly the chorus." I liked the idea, thinking that making choreography for Hard Rock was original. So together we made a one of the hardest chores I've ever done. We were 10 back then. I'm 13 now, and I still do the dance we made whenever I hear this song. Alyssa isn't dead, I just wanted to tell the story. Love you Lys 💙
One of the best STP songs
so much Zep/Page guitar influence here...that thick muddy badass Les Paul sound... 🎸🎼💪🤘
"Burn your wicked garden to the ground!" I miss you, Scott!

I hope to walk in your wicked garden when we meet again. Your music will carry on through everyone you inspired. Thank you Scott Weiland.
It's a trip, I haven't listened to this song in many, many years. I was there at this video shoot at the venue Soma, downtown San Diego. Seems like a lifetime ago. Can't remember too much but those were good times and great music back in the early 90s.
This song gets the blood pumping💪
I also wanna run through Your WICKED GARDEN!!! Right now, you should be with us, feeling like we love to, & I will again! RIP Weiland.
Roll On,with the best
Can’t ever get too much of this!!!
Best song EVER. Rock n roll perfection. Never thought I’d say this back in the 90’s, but now, Weiland STP is definitely up there with the greats -Zeppelin, Elvis, Floyd, Beatles, Doors....
agree :)
R.I.P. Scott and R.I.P. the 90's
You both are TRULY missed!!!!
I remember when it came out, all critics bar none running to destroy this fantastic album.
I kept on wondering: "Why? Seriously? What the hell is going on?"
How was that possible they couldn't not like this album at all? Whats their problem? Isn't there enough space for Nirvana, STP, Soundgarden, AIC, etc?""
At first, I couldn't understand why they picked this one group, but then I realized how STP never really fitted the 'pure grunge scene,' which of course had to be left in peace as a whole, being the gold mine it was....
Anyway, couldn't care less. I've always liked them, and I'¡ll always will. And now, once again, we are crying a tortured soul who has left us way too soon.
R.I.P. Scott, I hope you found some of the peace you couldn't find on here.
***** alright, I didn't even know that. Thanks for sharing this.
+Matteo Prezioso BECAUSE CRITICS ARE JERKOFFS WHODOT UNDERSTEAND ROCKNFROLL AND MOST OF THEIR REVIEWS ARE BULLSHIT, EXCEPČT FRO A FEW REALLY GOOD OENS
I think a lot of people thought they ripping of pearl jam or something hey. I never understood that...just coz Scott was 'jowling' a bit or something I donnow....STP were a bloody great band with heaps of killer tracks. But, you all know that!
Critics are morons. They are notorious for trashing music and movies that people love. Critics used to trash Rush up and down the street. There have also been numerous movies where critics say the movie is awful, the public disagrees, so the critics go back and change their opinion... critics are useless!
Well said my friend, well said.. Still hard to 4 me to comprehend he is gone... Rest in Peace Scotty !!
