Sam and Joyce, Thank you for another wonderful video. I know it was a lot of work cleaning & repairing the traps and untangling all the twists in the rope, cleaning the boat and the crabs...a hard earned dinner and it looked delicious. Life is good! 🤗❤️❤️
Usually when there is no crab and bait is gone or maybe one "little crab" let in your trap, that tell me that someone helped themselves to your traps/crabs. That is what happens when you leave them overnight. Blue Crab, not much meat on them but they do taste good. Joyce you're a good cook.
I would think that also but the traps were beat up from that strong current, it even knocked the rebar off of one. We've been setting our traps in that area for 30 years but never had that type of problem. Thanks a lot for Watching our videos
OMG....100 ways to wok your crabs sounds much better than 100 ways to Wok your dog. 🤔🥺 The line looks like it was run through a coiler and then tossed back by someone else?
I always worry that you guys are getting ripped off by thieves. Guess you gotta take the good with the bad. good cooking as usual Joyce. thanks for taking us along.
Thanks, there was a very strong tide, I researched it and an Eclipse causes a strong tide. We've been setting Traps there for 30 years and that's the first time that happened. Thanks for Watching our videos
I’m pretty sure someone took your crabs and shame on them you guys always have crabs in your traps sorry guys steak is always good for dinner also lol much love from Tennessee
Helen, we also thought that at first but that strong current made the traps tumble and moved most of them quite a ways. Also there weren't any commercial traps in the area, I think the crabs just didn't show up yet, we were a little early. Thanks again for Watching our videos

We are really enjoying your videos, when I teamed up with my partner, Sue, our first Valentine's Day was spent crabbing. Similar to your anniversaries. Anyway, keep the videos coming. David and Sue, Exmouth, Western Australia
Looks delicious Joyce. Nice to see a different method of cooking those delicious crabs. Do you guys ever keep your boat in the water behind the house? Seems like you mostly trailer it. Good eats. Better luck on your next pull.
We sometimes leave our Carolina Skiff at the seawall, we usually trailer our Sea Hunt because if it's dead low water when we get in we might hit getting back there. Try cooking your crab in a wok they'll taste great.
me again.. at 19:12 mins, if you use two spatulas, you can mix and flip way better. it took me until about age 58 (just turned 60) to figure that out after seeing someone else do that. you can turn one outward and one inward, and push them together and all the contents get an easy flip and even cook. 😊
Get some trackers to hide in your traps to see if they move. Boat wakes can move the traps. Thieves take the crabs and the bait. Maybe Aquaman is messing with you.
It was the exceptional tide we had, we've been setting traps in that area for 30 years and never had a problem, at first I didn't relate it to the Eclipse until I researched how the Eclipse can affect the tide. Thanks a lot for Watching our videos
Great vid guys. I do something very similar with crawdads (the only fresh seafood I can catch here in Montana) and a pound of raw shrimp. Fry in a little jalapeno olive oil and I even do the little steam sauna at the end just like you guys did. Yummy!!!
Hi There my favorite couple 😘 I wish that I could cook crab 🦀 like Joyce do 🤤 I will continue to watch and one day who knows I might be able to get it done 😅 God bless and stay safe 👍🙏💕
Thanks, Joyce just dreams up new recipes and tries them and most turn out great. Try cooking them in a wok, you won't be disappointed. Thanks a lot for Watching our videos
The wok really brings out the flavor of the crab. When we're driving home, Joyce is thinking up new ways to cook our catch. Thanks for Watching our videos
Hi good to see you both again. It’s so sad to see it almost empty. Looks like someone got it before you got to it. Food looks yummy. Stay safe . God Bless you both. ♥️
The strong current didn't help things because the traps tumbled and I think we were a little early for over there, no one else was crabbing and the water was still cold. Last year at that time the water was warmer. Thanks for Watching our videos
Boy i can't wait till our weather turns then the crabs will be in and I'll be feasting, i might try the wok trick the way Joyce cooked them , but will make sure i have the cover lol
Try cooking your crab in a wok, you won't be disappointed they were some of the tastiest crabs we ever had and make sure you have your lid with you lol. Thanks again for Watching our videos
You're right we've been having some weird weather especially all the wind we've been having but we still enjoy being out there. Thanks for Watching our videos
Alice, try cooking your crab in the wok they taste great that way we're going to do it again, we just thought we'd try that method and it was a good decision. Can we borrow your lid lol.
I’m gonna make yall crab holding pen that way y’all can keep crabs at y’all’s dock so when ur not wanna cook em that night or save em up for nice crab boil
@@TheOldCoupleOutdoors I went for couple hours along the seawall water very dirty still and wind blow 15-20 outta the south their still catch a few fish but most of the coats are running to the Louisiana marsh to find cleaner water

Avon "skin so soft" will take care of that midge/sandflea issue. Compliments of a Parris Island Marine.
Thanks for the tip and Thanks a lot for Watching our videos
I always worry that you guys are getting ripped off by thieves. Guess you gotta take the good with the bad. good cooking as usual Joyce. thanks for taking us along.
We really don't have a big problem with thieves, if it happens twice a year it seems like a lot to us. Thanks for Watching our videos
Another great video guys you had a lot of tied their the way the ropes were twisted well you have a great week see you on the next video

I think I'll try this too Joyce, I will put a lot of garlic, I love garlic.
You won't be disappointed they were some of the best crab we ever had. Thanks for Watching
That current really was strong. I guess the crabs went to watch the eclipse too.
That's right Rose, did you notice they had their glasses on lol.
Skin So Soft by Avon. Bugs slide right off! 😊

i have to ask, but how old is the oven there? i had a friend who’s gram had one similar and lets just say, it was really old but still worked. 😊
Gail, the oven is over 40 years old and works great, in that time we went through 4 stoves at home. Always nice hearing from you.
Always a great video! When does shrimping start? Looking forward to watching you net some big shrimps!
Shrimping starts around July if storms don't mess the water up. Thanks again for Watching our videos

You're right it was. Thanks for Watching our videos
looks good

Oh no, I wish we could help and send you some crab lol. Thanks again for Watching our videos
It seem like the string bait is more profitable and fun what do you think???
When they're running you can catch more crab with just a string and a chicken neck but we like being out in the boat. Thanks for Watching our videos
Sam and Joyce another great delicious looking meal❤

Gotta be illegal where you put those
It's legal, we've been setting our traps there for over 30 years and the FWC has seen us. The only difference this time was that strong current pushed 2 traps to the edge of the channel but it's not actually an official channel. I don't do anything illegal. Thanks for Watching our videos

LoL. Thanks for Watching our videos
So Sam, was the steak tender?
It was very tender and the crabs were great cooked in the wok. Thanks for Watching our videos we appreciate it

Which is the best month to go crabbing?
I like September, that's when we do our best, even when we lived in New Jersey. Thanks again for Watching our videos
@TheOldCoupleOutdoors Thanks for answering. I think I'm going to plan my vacation accordingly. I hope September is a good month in south Texas.
Does the R on the buoy mean the person that put them out is a Rookie? 😮
.
All that trash from the current is probably why the Commercial crabers picked them up before the strong current maybe
I think the crabs just didn't show up yet, we were a little early compared to other years.
That's right lol.
