Been away in my van for almost a month travelling around the uk with my new addition Ellie a 15 month rescue Border Terrier. She has a few problems but she has now found her forever home. I am so happy that you are both enjoying your build. It’s looking great guys and the banter improves each week. Jon don’t feel bad that you only have 8inches it’s not about the length it’s what you do with it that counts! Happy days guys.
I’m still smiling writing this. The banter is hilarious. I don’t know about raffles and the hoops you have to go through to run one but I do love the idea of a chance to win one of your builds. Purely because of your attention to detail. It also sounds like Jess could join a brass band without an instrument 😂😂. Thanks Jess and Jon another belter ❤💙
Everything you could ask for in entertainment. The technical parts of the build, great info and detail. The banter between you two, the good and bad 😂. Jon - master builder, who used your new shovel well already (dug a nice hole 😂). And Jess - ace welder and you enjoy your tools too 😉. Big Red looking good, and hopefully the Landy goes to good new owners. Best channel.
So far my favorite of your builds has been the Sainsbury’s truck. From an accessibility point of view it just feels the most comfortable, especially with the bed. Big Red could give it a run for the money, but I still prefer the layout of the Sainsbury’s truck. While you might feel like you didn’t get much done this week, what you did accomplish are some major feats, that will make the rest of the build go smoothly. Can’t wait for next week’s shenanigans.
If the Sainsbury's get a rear diff lock + a bit of more flex on the rear, it could do 99% of the trails except the extreme ones. I hope their bank account is ready for big red's unstoppable diesel guzzling 😅
@@SzecskoSandor 😂😂😂 nope the bank account is running dry, that’s why we are selling the defender 😂😂, yeah I need to look into a rear diff lock, wonder if it would work with an auto no problem too 🤔 can’t see why not
brilliant vid, great banter. Maybe Jess could do a cordless tool comparison next week, to enlighten us. Also, Jon, was that a sanctioned tool purchase, or one that was kept quiet. Roll on next week.
LOVE IT. The Mother of Guns gets a polka to paint to while the Keeper of Tools gets a violin concerto making a shovel 😂. You two even choose the right music.
Next time when using adhesive sealants, try instead of applying in straight lines. Do it in 100/150mm circles then when you push the board or whatever you are fixing back , acts a bit like a vacuum and sticks in place a lot easier ...give it a go😊
You pair are a joy to watch 😂. I look forward to watching every Saturday and never fail to make me laugh. But on the other hand what you do is just brilliant. You are both amazing ❤. (The raffle idea is good and fair to everyone)
You were going easy on him doing the tape measure test over 500mm! should have done it over a few metres and the difference in the measurements would have been massive! Also those 3D printed things for the router are awesome! i got one for my circular saw and it saved me from having to buy the proper drop saw! Great video guys i am in love with this build!
Those happy days did a great raffle on their converted van Morgan after getting trolled on eBay. It was great and sold all the tickets. They used Raffall, I think it is a great idea.
Great video john that shovel you made is gonna get a lot of use for all the holes you get yourself in with jess ,like the shadow foam T shirt too take care😅
I'm checking my tapes today, probably explains a lot in my DIY😂. Auctions sound great, but please ask your viewers what they think of merchandise too. I think a limited 'catch phrase' range would be great.😎
OMG you are both very Blue when John was talking about your tool Jess he had me in stitches 😂 . I look forward to seeing you both on a Saturday make the week, it's going to be hard to let the Landy go for you both but it's only a vehicle please keep up the Blue bits so funny 👌👍 Ralph
Very interesting experiment with Tape Measures, lesson learnt. I just love you two and your hilarious antics in your videos, please don’t change as I’m sure if anyone feels offended they are no longer watching. Jon I respect your attitude in respect of Trainee Hairdresser, yes they should be paid, after all most are not part of a big company. Funny whilst fixing panels you had four cordless drills, which made sense as it saved you time from keep changing “Bits” and made for a smoother rhythm. 😂 Saturday mornings for this 76 year old is amazing, and I even watch the Ads right through as it helps your channel. Have a good week, I’m off to get a couple of new cordless drills, oh yes I don’t sit on the couch all day. Sending love to you and Jess xx ❤️💙🛠️🪚🪛🔨xx
So glad it was helpful and made you laugh 💙 it’s so lovely to hear 💙he hardly even used one of them 😂😂🤦♀️ thanks so much for that we really appreciate it💙
Thanks so much for my Saturday Morning Laughs! You two are a riot and while John may have thought he got the best of Jess today she wins the day with "Needs to Be'! Ouch !!
Jon love; Jess has to have her own personal tools because there were too many snow angels in Norway. there were too many Friar Tuck haircuts that maybe have caused permanent damage to your tool. Maybe it can't rise sufficiently when required. I do hope this isn't the case. Keep things warm, Jon. The results can be unimaginable!!. Cheers Sarah from Tasmania.
I do work experience at Trade Centre. I do services, diagnostics and fix any customer problems. I don’t get paid for any work that I do either, as it is ‘Work Experience’ and not an apprenticeship. Luckily I like doing it!
Morning morning guys, on form today 🤣😂🤣😂 Cor Jon you really put Jess through the mill today 🤭 Jess I’m so glad you proved the tape measure issue, I found my carpentry measurements were sometimes out just a fraction despite the ‘measure twice cut once’ rule (I have 2 different tape measures) 🙄
You definitely made my morning, I’m viewing from the hospital, been stuck in this place a week, however you always do a corker of an episode,😂 I look forward to next weeks ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I’m not a fan of the raffle companies that have loads of them every week, I feel like people just end up wasting loads of money. I much prefer the idea of people like yourselves running a raffle when you have one to run!
We all know you two don't always see eye to eye all the time but making up is fun wink, wink. Now your blue is rubbing off on me LOL. Fantastic video again, keep it up 😂😂😂
Looked proper windy there, in more ways than one hey Jess 💨 😂 Don’t worry about the special tool John my mrs has one and she says it’s an anti stress device or something like that…….
So unbelievably jealous of the tools and workshop guys! Absolutely love all of the tips and explanations you give. I would do anything to see your reaction to our ‘small renovation’ of our Ford Econoline. All we had was a jigsaw and hand sander 😅
Good on you guys, I’ve always said what I love most about people traveling is you can do it in anything, when in oz the amount of young kids doing it in a car with no back seats, just love it, my first camper I built was an old transit too, shocking build but loved it none the less 👍👍👍
You two bounce off each other so well. Let me tell you, if you think that was a fall out whilst working together, you have nothing to worry about. Like others have said, I think a 4x4 lorry or wagon should be on the cards next. The build will be very interesting, and something with a garage and full side living quarters will be amazing. Your own version of an Earth Roamer 👍
Even the same tape measure will measure differently as it get used. The rivets that hold the tang (hook) on to the tape are designed to have enough play to account for the thickness of the tang when measuring up to or hooked on to your work. Every time the tape is allowed to retract at full speed into the body it pulls on the rivets, increasing the size of the holes in the tape eventually changing the measurement. You should try a metric only, self locking extra wide tape- brilliant bit of kit for the workshop!!
Loved this weeks edition you guys. Great bit of humour to start the weekend off. Really couldn't believe the variations in tape measure lengths. The walls in Big Red look great and impressed with the attention to detail re the rug fixing Jess. Seems ironic that when we guys get total grief for our "trumpet fanfares" yet the girlies get away with it even though they are allegedly more discreet about it.
😂😂😂 trumpet fanfares 😂😂😂 so glad you enjoyed it. Even I was surprised how bad they were I think of all those tapes only 3 got the same measurement! Thanks very much 💙
You two absolutely crack me up. This is just an awesome build. You never disappoint! The quality is just spectacular. This is the kinda quality you'd get for paying a premium for. 👌
Another great episode! Staggered at the difference in tape measures! Thought there would be a BSI for that. Raffle is a great idea. Check out Matt Armstrong, as he often raffles cars he rebuilds. Watching from Gran Canaria this morning, where the sun is shining!! 🫠🫠🫠🫠
Maybe check out the various rules in each country before a raffle? Or will this be U.K. only? Kind of complicated. In other matters… this is the best UA-cam channel extant. By far. You two are absolutely hilarious and the content, both building and travelling, is without peer! Thanks a million. This Canadian loves you both. Hope you’ll coming through the Toronto area on your upcoming N.A. Road trip. ❤️
Thanks very much mate, yeah I looked on a few websites and it says that people from other countries can enter but if they win they just have to sort getting it that’s all, We hopefully will be I would of thought so hopefully see you around 👍👍

Nice clean cut and zero dust that covers all of the workshop and causing shorts in other electric tools....... So, i consider it as saftey equipement for my other tools 😉
You guys are hilarious as so many have correctly said, always a pleasure to see your videos. Big red is looking so great, although I have not found it in ebay and want to buy it 😁 The tape measure contradiction is mad, proves the unreliability of tools, so Jon, you really need to buy more just to be safe 😎
Hi guys you make me and Kates day watching you also you wanna hear kates trumpet so i feel for you there John and thanks again for the other day ive still not got a 3d printer or a 3d printed ring lol looking forward as ever for next weeks antics
Yep… battery tools rule 😵💫 I could cry for you over the Landy, it’s such a thing of beauty and you worked so hard to create it, I get when you say you can’t drive them all blah blah I just don’t think anyone else deserves it! I want you to be like Mat Armstrong and just keep adding to your collection! 😤 And I laughed that J has a little handy tape measure in her bag… I have one in my bedside cabinet drawer.. nothing pervy… I just constantly plan home enhancements at random hours of the night and jump up to measure spaces! 😝
@truebluetravellers I really think you should do a 4x4 Overlander Lorry camper next! Like a Mercedes, or MAN or something- views forever that would make!
Brill video guys, love your editing. My view on raffles, bit old fashioned and more something British. You have a lit of International viewers who may not understand. Plus raffles have a lit of rules and are usually linked with charities. Keep up the great work 💙
The poduction quality is class - love the technical background info. I have learned so much. You work so hard and to such a high standard. You must be knackered!
IMO the gold in your content is the builds so it makes perfect sense that you build, use then sell to finance the next project. Personally I think sell rather than raffle as it's more open and interesting re cost versus final value
I am so glad Jess enjoyed using the new cordless electric thing and managed to find the hole I am talking about the soldering iron when doing the roof carpet, as I know she’s all about safety 😃👍🏻🍕 I can’t wait to hear what your new plans are and I think a raffle is a great idea as long as you sell enough tickets to cover what you want for tge Defender
Started following you guys a couple of weeks ago after looking into converting our own van! Love the educational videos as well as the banter. TTT has me hooked!
Good luck with the sale of the Landie. Regarding raffles - Bridge Classic Cars (I'm not affiliated) sell a lot this way, and the majority seem to sell out the number of tickets. But, occasionally all the tickets don't go and the vehicle sells anyway. I don't know all the ins and outs or who takes the hit in that case.
Years ago, my partner would greet 'Donald' every morning and I still smile about it daily even though I've been single for 20 years. 😂 Love the injection of 'blueness' this week, the banter, the music choices and some very subtle editing. Superb misty autumn morning company. When you're in the public eye raffles are often the best way to protect yourselves from eBay troll bidders. I think they get a bad press from sellers appearing to cash in a higher amount than the actual worth. Many forget about the fees the raffle sites need to charge though. With our pockets being ever more squeezed these days, what better way to thank your supporters than to make your creations affordable for anyone to own? So many of us want you to build us a van, this is the next best thing. ❤
😂😂😂 bahaha brillaint! Glad you enjoyed it. We don’t have bids on eBay just a classified ad but we’d love to be able to do the raffles, like you say it’s figuring out all the extra fees and charges and legal implications and things 💙
The fire truck is a beast, but I was actually very suprised when shown with the Land Rover that it doesn't look much bigger. Coming along nicely. Wish it was a Unimog 😅
old red is looking awesome, you both certainly have fantastic talent and workmanship building your projects, your attention to detail is second to non, well done both of you, look forward to the next video 😀

😂😂😂 I really do hey, buy more to test hey 😂👍 I’ll take one for the team
Hi guys you make me and Kates day watching you also you wanna hear kates trumpet so i feel for you there John and thanks again for the other day ive still not got a 3d printer or a 3d printed ring lol looking forward as ever for next weeks antics
😂😂😂 thanks guys, hope you enjoyed the night of your anniversary 😉😂👍
I take responsibility for that soldering iron and im not one bit sorry 😂
Its a brilliant bit of kit
😂😂😂😂😂 legend
I watch all your videos and this one is by far your best. You guys are hilarious. Thanks for a great laugh.🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for the support 👍👍
Yep… battery tools rule 😵💫
I could cry for you over the Landy, it’s such a thing of beauty and you worked so hard to create it, I get when you say you can’t drive them all blah blah I just don’t think anyone else deserves it! I want you to be like Mat Armstrong and just keep adding to your collection! 😤
And I laughed that J has a little handy tape measure in her bag… I have one in my bedside cabinet drawer.. nothing pervy… I just constantly plan home enhancements at random hours of the night and jump up to measure spaces! 😝
😂😂😂 yep just like me Donna I have the best ideas while trying to get to sleep, always keeps me awake 😂🤦♀️
@truebluetravellers I really think you should do a 4x4 Overlander Lorry camper next! Like a Mercedes, or MAN or something- views forever that would make!
Definitely gonna do this one day 👌👍👍
Great work both.Loving the videos.keep up the great work both.Looking forward to next week video 👍
Thanks so much so glad you enjoyed it 💙
The two of you are brilliant. I love the videos and definitely my favourite channel now😊

Thanks very much 😊👍
i think this was the funniest episode so far lol, yet another great vid guys well done xx
😂😂 thanks very much 💙💙
Absolutely hilarious as ever. 🤣
😂😂 thanks 👍👍
Brill video guys, love your editing. My view on raffles, bit old fashioned and more something British. You have a lit of International viewers who may not understand. Plus raffles have a lit of rules and are usually linked with charities. Keep up the great work 💙
Thanks very much for you feedback mate 👍👍
That one you got there this episode - ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS ! Oh, and the shovel ain’t bad too !
😂😂😂😂 thanks mate
Think you should raffle it probably make more money that way. Amazed it not sold quickly on eBay such a lovely vehicle.
Thanks mate 👍👍
Thanks for the tips 👍 and videos 👌👍. I used your tip on my own car.
So great to hear it’s helpful 💙💙
Absolute gold as always, so glad i stumbled on to you guys through an Aussie doing the same.
Good old outfit 👍👍👍
The poduction quality is class - love the technical background info. I have learned so much. You work so hard and to such a high standard. You must be knackered!
That’s so kind of you to say thanks so much 💙💙 so nice to hear it’s helpful too 💙
IMO the gold in your content is the builds so it makes perfect sense that you build, use then sell to finance the next project. Personally I think sell rather than raffle as it's more open and interesting re cost versus final value
Thank for the feedback 👍👍
Love the banter😉I’ve got 8” but I don’t use it as a rule😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂 bahaha brilliant 😂😂
I feel your pain John, working with the missis is like working with two men off 🤣
😂😂😂😂 yep 😂
Brilliant job with the rug Jess! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 the build looks brilliant - can’t wait for next week!!
😂😂😂 thanks 💙 really appreciate it 💙
Proper British humour back at last!
They removed it from the TV ages ago.
Refreshing to see a new couple talking like GenX
Thank you! 😂
😂😂😂 glad you enjoyed it 😊👍
Another great one ❤, never would have believed the tapes could be so far out!
I know unreal hey 👍💙
Don’t apologise for making me laugh all the way through your vlog.😂
😂😂😂😂 thanks 👍👍
I am so glad Jess enjoyed using the new cordless electric thing and managed to find the hole I am talking about the soldering iron when doing the roof carpet, as I know she’s all about safety 😃👍🏻🍕 I can’t wait to hear what your new plans are and I think a raffle is a great idea as long as you sell enough tickets to cover what you want for tge Defender
😂😂😂😂😂 I give up 🤦♀️🤦♀️ you lot and Jon are made for each other 😂😂👍
@@truebluetravellers🤪😂😂😂🤪 no you pair are made for each other
Started following you guys a couple of weeks ago after looking into converting our own van! Love the educational videos as well as the banter. TTT has me hooked!
Thanks very much, hope you get a van soon 😊
I started watching because the build looked very cool. But I keep watching because you two crack me up! I look forward to every video.
Thanks very much 👍👍
now that was truly BLUE 🤣the description of Jess' cordless ***** had me rollllinnggggg ahaha

I feel your pain John. My wife thinks she knows better too. Sometimes she does. Mostly she doesn't 😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂 same same 😂👍

😂😂😂 coming right up 👍
10000000000000% the land rover ❤
I love it xx
Thanks 😊 we’re gonna miss it for sure💙
Love you guys
Thanks 😊💙
Can we please have a full workshop tour?! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Oh yes would love to do this, I’ll try get the general on board 👌👍
Good luck with the sale of the Landie.
Regarding raffles - Bridge Classic Cars (I'm not affiliated) sell a lot this way, and the majority seem to sell out the number of tickets. But, occasionally all the tickets don't go and the vehicle sells anyway. I don't know all the ins and outs or who takes the hit in that case.
Thanks mate I’ll check it out 👍👍
Years ago, my partner would greet 'Donald' every morning and I still smile about it daily even though I've been single for 20 years. 😂
Love the injection of 'blueness' this week, the banter, the music choices and some very subtle editing.
Yeah I thought exactly the same, big red almost looked smaller hey, yep mog for the win 👌👌
Look forward to your weekly video on a Saturday morning. Funny and informative - keep up the great work both.
We really appreciate that thank you so much 💙💙
old red is looking awesome, you both certainly have fantastic talent and workmanship building your projects, your attention to detail is second to non, well done both of you, look forward to the next video 😀
Thanks so much that’s really kind of you to say 💙
