Awesome!!! I learned first hand that potting up really can make a difference. Since space might be an issue, you could always pot up a few at a time for natural succession harvesting. Can’t wait to see the results. 🌸

    They look great!!
I have been potting up all my seedlings for years, and always get excellerated growth.
I have tried different potting mixes and still the same result.
I think it has to do with the air exposure to the roots during transplant and that also triggers the plants natural response to recover and you will get more rapid root growth, followed by better leaf development.
I do all my transplants into screened peat moss in a 24 cell tray. That way i can keep them potted longer before planting in the field and if i sell them, that will give people more time to plan their gardening days between bad weather and work..!

Good to know about the wilt issue. I'm waiting on Farmer Bailey. Your lissies are AMAZING! I've had zinnias wilt in the middle of a row. I finally found out why. When I broke open the stem ...there was a tunneled out area where a bug had been. I pulled the plant hoping to get rid of eggs, etc. I only have a little over 1/2 acre; so when I see issues I just pull the plant. I've never seen the bug...the whole plant wilts. Can't wait to see the farm in all it's glory. I went Lissie nuts this yr....cut back on the dahlias. They don't always do well for me.

Yay! They are gorgeous! That's a lot of work but totally worth it. Hopefully, you can get that fusarium wilt problem under control. I did an experiment with some of last year's lisies. I dug them up and potted them trimmed down pretty small and waited. I am now getting good growth and they are getting taller! That means I can keep them as perennials! I'm so glad! We'll see if they bloom again this summer.

My Lisianthus are nearly 9 weeks old. Still fairly tiny. I’ve had my trays outside for weeks now since it’s warmer where I’m at. Just started fertilizing with miracle grow but I thought about getting the one you have. Also started some seeds late so here’s hoping they do well most of my first ones didn’t germinate.

  • @amysgardenstead2879

Your lisianthus look great. I desperately need to pot mine up but I’m out of room. I need to move them to my unheated greenhouse and our temperatures are still low. When can they go outside to cooler temperatures? I put one flat out just to test it. I am loving the humidity you are getting. I am going to rearrange my seedling area next year so I can wrap my shelves in plastic. Thanks for the info.

I’m so disappointed in our spring this year! Actually winter and spring. So damn unusual cold winter (-16C is NOT what winter here should be, normally -1 to -5 at its worst and now we’re having a horrible cold snap, this morning it was -10C. 😣 Last frost date here is April 1-15 and I’m carrying plants in and out because of this cold weather we’re having until April 7th at least. I envy your hoop house, haven’t got mine. Yet.

They are way behind yours ,basically because they didn't get the loving care you gave yours!! I moved and practically ignored them.
I started more and hadn't purchased lights yet!
Now I can sow them earlier next season!
Potting all plants up will increase their size!
    They grow to their environment

Congratulations!!!! Those are gorgeous!! Fingers crossed for no more wilt. I am using one of there Biologicals for Aphids (inside on seedlings) same deal $100 for a bag. The dilution is 1/8 of a teaspoon to 1/2 gallon so a smaller less &&& bag would be great. Maybe Ron will hear us and make packaging for smaller farmers???

So I just have to share since you did your video about having Lizzie triplets…
I got a package of I think it was 20 pelleted seeds of Black Pearl off Etsy or Amazon???, because I had poor germ with a few VERY well known companies that will remain nameless because, well “stuff happens.”
Fast forward…the package of Black Pearl I germinated in 3/4” soil blocks and OMG! One, yes I said one (1)☝️of the (20) blocks produced 9 babies 😱 One other produced 6 and then I had a couple triplets and several twins! I just up potted them and they all look amazing! Not quite like yours, but you know…never give up!!! I can not wait to see these babies in the garden…and I don’t even like purple 🤷‍♀️ 😁

I suspect that my coffee tree has fusarium... or some sort of fungal infection. I think it was some insect vector as it showed up after I had a devastating outbreak of mealbug -- which really love coffee trees. I am definitely going to try the RootShield and see if that has a greater efficacy than the Bonide Revitalize. The Revitalize has been working, but I think it just slowing it down rather than eliminating it like the RootShield will because the RootShield contains a bacteria that attacks the fusarium.
$125 is worth it to keep my tree alive and return to its vigorous old self. FYI, for anyone indoors... I know we all like to try and stay as organic as possible... but if you got a bad mealybug problem and your tired of spraying neem because you feasibly cannot spray enough... just use the chemicals and KILL THEM ALL. My tree is 8 ft tall by 3 feet wide, ain't no way I could every spray enough neem :-D

I planted my lisianthus seeds 7-8 weeks ago and although they're starting to get their true leaves, they're still barely bigger than a speck! Am I doing something wrong? I don't have high hopes for getting lisianthus flowers this year 😞

And I do have them under about 14-16 hours of grow lights every day, they're moist but not soggy, and they're not too warm

@@mmladyg they're already in 2¼" pots 🤔 but I started them in there, so it's probably too big for them, but I'd love for someone to tell me why too big of a pot is bad for them 🤷‍♀️

Lizzies take a long time to grow I don't think you are doing anything wrong. I planted mine Dec 15th and they are only as big as loonies

The reason the big pot is not so good is technical, but kind of the same reason you don't plant tiny seeds straight in the garden. The top layer of soil heats and cools faster during the day and, the same in a big pot. Its hard to keep a constant temp and soil moisture in it vs. The seed trays that only have 1" of soil in a black plastic tray. Also you will find that the main roots will develop but have very little secondary roots which is responsible for micro nutrient uptake. I a small pot the plant is limited and is forced to put out secondary roots to support itself.
      Hope this helps.
