I use this exact fertilizer on everything! Indoor and outdoor! My houseplants LOVE it, as do my roses! I just use the recommended amount of fertilizer and they’re happy. We had such a warm winter, I fertilized even through winter! I just used it at 1/2 strength but now it April, and they’re taking off! I love it! Never want to be without it! Great video! Thank you!

When fertilizing your seedlings outside, say...in a cheap plastic greenhouse, the fish emulsion brings all the critters to the yard.

I just learned last year that my seedlings never grew because I wasn't fertilizing after germination. So this year I eagerly fed them and they croaked. So now I know why my baby seedings croaked after I fertilized them - they were just too young (only cotyledons out) and I probably used too much. Things never go well when I wing it so Thank you! I also appreciated the giggles :)

Both my dog and I love the smell of fish fertilizer. He will also try to eat anything I put it on, so I have to be careful to only use it on plants he can't get to, and I can't use it in the backyard unless he's diligently supervised. I like the smell of pretty much everything that gardeners find stinky, like this and neem oil. I'm also lucky in that I live with someone that can't smell very well, so as long as we don't have any guests over, I can use all the stinky garden stuff inside without problems!

I thought it would be a good idea to add some Espoma Biotone to the potting soil being used to pot up/pre sprout corms, summer bulbs and bare root perennials. Great to do inside on a cold, rainy day. Some of the pot & trays went into the unheated garage. Others went in the little storage under lights. P-U ! The smell doesn’t go away - everybody is complaining but none of the plants can go outside yet 😵‍💫

I've been googling zinnias and most articles say that they are heavy feeders, but some say feed them lightly with a balanced fertilizer for growth and blooms. I know when some plants are fed throughout their growing season with too much nitrogen they will give less blooms/fruit. Definitely has to do with your soil too. After planting into thick layers of fresh compost in the garden like Nicole does, they probably don't need much more.

Emulsion is NOT hydrolysate. Hydrolysate is cold processed with microbes. Emulsion is cooked, stinks and valuable oils are harvested for other purposes before it's sold as a fertilizer. Referring to the Neptunes Harvest product as emulsion is not only incorrect, it's actually calling it something far less desirable and effective.

I see all of your healthy and good looking snaps in SOIL BLOCKS then i just cry bc my parents say that soil blocking is useless and fake and that u need some perfect soil for it.
Have u started dahlias from seed?

Do you put bone meal in your dahlia areas? I read it helps. Do you also use the Neptune on them?

🙊I accidentally poured that fertilizer down my arm and onto my shirt last week. Not a pleasant experience.

I use their Rose and Flowering. My god, I love that stuff - I use it for literally every plant in my garden: veggies, fruit and flowers. All love it! (Edit: I also use it on my zinnias - not really sure why we shouldn’t? My zinns love it.)
I wanted to point out that the seaweed-only stuff tends to burn plants very easily. So if folks use it, they need to water it down drastically.

I don’t really have a reason on the zinnias other than my mentor told me that. So I listened.

@@FlowerHillFarm I wonder if she just considered it wasteful since zinns appear to live through anything. I did some sleuthing online and it was 50% ‘they’re heavy feeders’ and 50% ‘meh, they’ll be fine’. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Why not fertilize zinnias? What was the advice?

Don’t remember. It was just one of my mentor’s rules

I love using Neptune’s fertilizer. Why don’t you fertilize the Snapdragons?

I would think that using such cold water would shock the plants. 🤷🏻‍♀️

So, love you, and who is helping you. Don’t see Brad, mister pit, as you said, into this. Too many starts for you alone.

He’s camera shy. He helps with outdoor stuff, not the seedlings.
