Junaid Akram is not a celebrity in the traditional sense. He is someone who talked about the issues of the country through comedy. His message was direct to the people without filter through new media. People grew to trust him to call a spade a spade. He has lost that trust amongst many of his watchers. Secondly one expects better from celebrities. In this polarizing time where the current government came out with a harsh budget for the masses they should at least remain neutral. I don’t think the average Pakistani takes political advice from celebrities, they are just calling them out for being elitist.
Ethically if any celebrity or influencer is doing any paid promotion for any political party then they should mention that it is a paid promotion. If they aren't doing that then they are lying and making a fool of their audience or fans. So I believe people have every right to be upset.

This is a political propoganda campaign right in the face of suffering people of pakistan and telling them that their suffering is invalid. I had a youthiyaa friend who used to get angry and object to the metro subsidy for no apparent reason. Junaid Akram is not a celebrity in the traditional sense. He is someone who talked about the issues of the country through comedy. His message was direct to the people without filter through new media. People grew to trust him to call a spade a spade. He has lost that trust amongst many of his watchers.
Secondly one expects better from celebrities. In this polarizing time where the current government came out with a harsh budget for the masses they should at least remain neutral. I don’t think the average Pakistani takes political advice from celebrities, they are just calling them out for being elitist.

If Junaid Akram were selling ACs and refused to sell ACs or Mariyam N then that’s his own personal decision, it’s not impacting or influencing anyone.

The main point to ponder is about the hypocrisy of masses.
