Stop trusting non profits. They're never actually non profit.

The thief should be arrested and jailed for what he or she did.

You should never trust anyone especially when it comes to your money

      You don’t have a CHOICE.
Legally if you save money in any other Avenue outside of a special needs trust, the disabled individual will lose their disability support, which is usually what contributes to them having money saved for their long term care, or to their daily living and care needs.
If you have a life insurance policy to leave them money for their care, it HAS to go to the specialneeds trust.
You are given next to no other options

This is just crazy!! So it was known the money was gone in 2017 AND 2022 and nothing was done??? OMG. Is the guy with the beard Sarah's son??? What a story. We need follow ups. Can you imagine even with the downturn in the early 2000s if that money was put into the S&P500 what it would be worth today? My ROTH from 2003 went from $5K to $89K today, tax free.

That’s a good point actually-so you have to use a special needs trust when leaving money for special needs individuals or else they can’t continue receiving their disability support. So the families who need it ,ost don’t even have the option to put it in a good savings or bond!

@@louderthanwordsInclusivity I had no idea. What a shame this company was a DIStrust and ran off with the funds.

Go ahead and mentioned how we are not allowed to save money for our kids in ANY OTHER WAY besides special needs trust or else our children will loose their disability benefits that support them and sometimes contribute TO a the savings. Majority of families of disabled children and adults live in poverty due to lost wages, and yet, still have to fight and claw their way to save for them to be cared for once we are gone.
Also, if I have a life insurance policy, and I die, every penny has to go into the special needs trust and NO other more secure way of saving.
Disabled people are boxed into a corner and given very few options at all. It is ridiculous.

It's just way to easy to steal from those with physical and mental issues. The temptation has to be overwhelming for those incharge. Besides, they are only going to take a little. It's a loan after all. No one is going to miss it.
