I did as much research as I possibly could before getting mine , wow . Thinking how it was going to be , and how things actually are when I got mine.
I'm still learning something new about them on a regular basis . Oscar couldn't wait to hang out ,the second day I went to feed him he ran up my arm
and hung on my shoulder . Thank you for these videos they've been a big help.

My little cousin about 8 got a bearded dragons and it was living in a 10 gallon tank when it was huge but later on they were moving to California and didn’t want it. Her parents were just about to go to the woods and just leave it there like it can live on it’s own. But lucky my mom heard them and said she’ll take it off there hands, So when she brought it home we went straight to are pet store and got a 40 gallon and everything else it needed and he looks way happier and now is attached to me and my mom the most. Which I’m thankful my mom was there when they were about to leave it.😮‍💨😮‍💨

The Petsmart in my town takes better care of their reptiles than they do their fish. The bearded dragons I saw there (especially the orange morph one) were all alert, curious, and happy with good setups for temporary in-store enclosures. Granted they could be freshly shipped, but my heart ached not being able to get one immediately. Doing research is everything, so I'm doing just that while I figure out what I need to buy and how much it'll cost for me to save up the money.

I got my beautiful boy from a pet shop & we discovered he was very ill due to his kidneys. He passed away in March & I'm heartbroken. We were so blessed & lucky to have him for the time we did & he was loved & cared for. I would absolutely encourage anyone to look at a reputable breader. I'm not saying it was the pet shops fault as I try not to think about it. But for me, the best start for your beardy please go to a breader. It may save you a lot of heartache. Like I said, my family & I was so lucky to have our fun snuggle loving boy who gave us so much laughter & love. 🦎😍

I did a BUNCH of research beforehand, but there are still things that I either missed during my research, or forgot. Cause I still look stuff up occasionally. Been 3 weeks with Grougaloragran, and he's settling in nicely. My family lives him and he's growing nicely. Currently doing his first molt with us so he's a little uncomfortable and grouchy, but we're giving him some space.

So glad I watched this. I had a deal fall in my lap I couldn't refuse for a citrus tiger bearded dragon. Came with a pvc enclosure set up. We have gotten her a bigger enclosure and added to it. I'm still learning so these videos are awesome 👌. My oldest daughter and I spent all last year researching ball pythons for my daughter's 13th birthday. I spent all of 2020 fighting pancreatic cancer, so had the time while in the hospital bed.
You are my go to for bearded dragons. Irene is about 6 months and loves her greens. I am so excited that I can grow food for her. I love gardening. I feed her her protein of a morning and leave fresh veggies changing the veggies out for her around the clock. Not a lot but enough for a snack if she wants them. Most time she likes her veggies at night, so I make sure she gets fresh veggies at our bedtime. She poops in her water but nowhere else for the most part. She loves to set on my chest and rock in my rocking chair, she climb up and wiggle then close her eyes. She has been my light since we got her and I want the best.

I have 120 gallon enclosures for mine and yes they take a lot of work to get the temps and UVI correct. I also have 40 gallon breeders and those are really good for a simple and effective setup for certain applications.

I've gotten the worse advice from pet stores, most of them don't really know about beardies in the first place. And have said so. I got gator from my niece maybe a year or year and a half? Anyway i think now I've gotten things right by watching all of your videos ❤️. Yesterday I had to go to try and get a hotter bulb because it was staying only at 90 at the hot side. The woman asked if I misted her? I'm like no, the humidity. She's very hydrated and now eating the right amount of super worms, and Yes I overfed her at first and took her to the vet. Now normal stools for the first time and not smelly. Thank goodness she's fine even though the mistakes I made in the beginning. And googling and groups say do this others say don't. OMG 😱. So glad I found your videos ❤️

When we upgraded my beardies tank to 120 gallons it definitely was a challenge to get the temps right. We thankfully waited a week before transferring him to triple check all of the temps so any expansion i would definitely recommend waiting to make sure everything is ok! This was a great video thank you!

My bearded dragon chose me. I went to the pet store to get feeder mice for my daughter. I saw Rex and tapped on the glass. He ran up to me and kept scratching the glass really fast. I walked away. He stopped. I came back he started again. I got him home and he didn’t want to let go of me. He didn’t want to leave my chest. And would grip my finger if I tried to put him in his enclosure. No I had no plan to get a bearded dragon. I didn’t know anything about bearded dragons. I even left him at the pet store and something made me go back and get him about an hour later. My daughters corn snake came from a breeder not a pet store. Rex looks like he is only a month old. Of course the pet store didn’t know his age 🤦🏽‍♀️. He’s been here for two days now. I’m learning and doing research as fast as possible. I just couldn’t leave him there.

So funny story. I went to petsmart to buy the enclosure and stuff and was going to buy from a breeder. Petsmart had a bearded dragon juvenile there. I kept looking at him and he looked at me. I decided to play with him and my dad, (I'm an adult, but he was helping me find the right stuff) said that he had a good temperament. So I got him. I named him Rex.

I know that many of us miss your zoom ins. Also, I now think, by what you said, that there is something wrong with my many dragons that I have raised over the years. None of them could speak any French! As a matter of fact, not one of them could speak at all! I have a great idea! You should make a video with your French talking dragon. That would be awesome to watched. Have a great day and God Bless You😁

My first dragon was from a pet shop, not a national chain though, so I thought I was safe 🙄! The poor little guy barely ate, pet shop “he will eat when his hungry” ok, I thought, maybe it’s “first time lizard mom nerves” but when he still wouldn’t eat I took him to the vet, he had some kind of fungus on his lips, long story short, he died. 😢 I waited a bit, did more research, bought from a breeder and now I have a lovely little girl that eats a lot, but also loves her greens! ❤️ folk like you are awesome, without you I would have to read a bunch of boring books! (Now I just read a few!)

And he said most people buy too big of tanks. Personally, I would tell you the same thing. My breeder told me it’s better to have a big tank then too small of a tank if you go to Petsmart or any other pet store that they sell pets, but they don’t really take care of them very well. but again, Petco and a lot of other stores that don’t really take care of their pets. They think that bearded dragons can have iceberg lettuce that can actually kill them just like they think a bearded dragon enclosure fully grown should only be 40 to 50 gallons which is not right but also they think that you only need a, basking light and a UV light I can tell you you need a basking light a UV light and uvB light

got mine a couple weeks ago from my moms bf. he got his from petco. and he didnt do great with him.. but ever since ive took care of him, he/she has been more active and been eating from tongs from me. they arent always bad getting from a pet market.. just depends how soon you get them from the horrible environment. my moms bf didnt give my beardie a UV light everyday for 12hrs.. or basking light.. & ive finally done that. he/she is so much happier... mainly threatened now when i put my hand in when i put my hand in. i even go slow. but if my beardie opens its mouth it lets me pets it beard and its shuts its mouth... but my beardie only doesnt care if i hold them when i pick them up about sleeping or when they wake them up. i try to pick them up during the day he/she jumps out of my hand? what should i do????

My bearded dragon does eat food other than protein, HOWEVER, the only 'other food" he will eat is romaine lettuce. He's not as picky as you describe but I worry about him getting deficiencies of some sort. I've tried taking one of those dried flower/ vegetable packs and crushing them, then sprinkling it over his lettuce, so hopefully, he starts to eat that willingly. Do you maybe have suggestions for getting a picky dragon to eat? This lizard will literally starve himself for 3 days before he'll even touch romaine with other vegetables mixed in.

Where do you find a good versus bad breeder. You know the breeders how do we know. I'm in Texas if you know a good breeder let me know.

so the controversy about bottom coverings is frustrating. is there something besides a paper towel that is ok like round pea
gravel, or repti chips that are acceptable and safe ?

Maybe im doing too much, i went in blind and am doing what i can to do it right and am not sure where i am doing it wrong. I've watched many of your videos and am very thankful and have learned alot so thank you. But my beardie is about 3 months old and is scared of me still. After i get him out of his tank he seems chill but getting him out is a struggle. I just need some experienced advice. I dont even know where the nearest experienced vet is here in Iowa. The first one I got died within a week. She never ate, she always hid, and when I took her body back they said she died from failure to thrive. I think she was bullied in the tank and too stressed and don’t have enough time to adjust before it was too late days before in the shop.

So my son brought his dragon Pickles home August of last year. He got her from a pet store. They told him she was just big but I think she is older she slowed down on protein about a month ago and started going crazy on salad. She has always been aggressive. Lately she hasn’t been bearding up, hissing or trying to bite me anymore. But she still seems scared of being handled. I want to hang out with her so bad but I don’t want to stress her. I have been petting her picking her up inside her home she tries to run every time. I want her to be happy!!! Any tips on how I can get her to trust and love us ??? Lol😂
