@@car-analysis after couple of hours I managed to understand how to remove them. Basically all I had to do is remove 4 torx20 screws and that was it, changed it in 5mins after resesrching for couple of hours😆
I have a draft installation guide that I can email you. Never got around to finishing it, but the info is all correct. Email me at info@car-analysis.com and I will send it to you.
Actually, you don't have to remove the controller for this installation. It's enough to disconnect the negative terminals on the batteries and make sure that the vehicle does not have power anywhere before you start the install.
You must ensure that there is no power to the unit when you do the install. If your car has 2 batteries, both of them have to be disconnected (negative terminal only).
No, the M6 F06 has the same iDrive controller as a 650i F06. So it should be the same. If your M6 is a 2018 or newer, it probably has the EVO controller (with MEDIA key). If your M6 is a 2017 or older, it probably has the NBT controller (with TEL key). The EVO controller is more difficult to upgrade because it has to be removed from the car for installation. I have made 4 videos on that, here is the first one: ua-cam.com/video/um8OXOv2cw0/v-deo.html
Hey Martin I have a 2021 x7 my wife spilled Dr Pepper on the Air conditioning controls. It is sticky behind those buttons. Any suggestions the buttons don’t work now. And I am having to control the Air from the touch screen… HELP!!
Deine Anleitung hat mir sehr beim Umbau geholfen. Vielen Dank aus Deutschland.
Vielen Dank!
Great Video Martin. Thank you 👍
How can I fix sport ,comfort ,and eco pro button they get stick sometimes thank you
I don’t think that’s possible to fix. You probably need a new iDrive controller.
Hey, could any of you help me to understand on how to remove the buttons around idrive wheel? Do i need to unscrew those 4 very small screws?
I don't think BMW intended for these screws to be removed. You may need a new iDrive controller if some buttons are broken or don't work.
I have a demo NBT iDrive controller that has been upgraded to Crystal, email me if you are interested.

@@marlbororaudonas Good job!
is there an light indicator around the touchpad after installation?
No, not for the NBT version, as there are no cutouts in the PCB under.
@@car-analysis Thanks
@@car-analysis What if i use the original ring and not the ring included? Is the light indicator around then possible ? Or doesnt it fit ?
@@mazon370 The original trim ring will not fit because the crystal is too thick for it.
Do you have removal instructions for 2016 750i?

Do you need to disconnect the battery before doing this? Obviously we probably won’t be ripping the whole console out.

Is there a video on how to install the multimedia knob on a g20 330i?
Yes there is. Go to car-analysis.com and click on tab Installation.
where did you purchase the NBT multimedia knob from?
It's available from car-analysis.com - not just on the website/Amazon yet. Price: $99.95. Payment with PayPal.
I fitted following these exact instructions, but now after a few days my iDrive controller won't press down!
This is not a common problem. Most likely, some kind of mistake was made during the installation. Suggest disassembling and reassembling.
Hi Martin. Would this be the correct application for a 2014 F10 535i with production date of 10/13 ?
Yes, this is the correct version for your car. We have it in stock in California.
Yes, I’m interested in ordering it. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Can you please email me at info@car-analysis.com
Would this work if u have a small idrive controller. The crystal knob is larger than my current idrive knob. 2014 f07 550igt
No. You need the CIC version of the Multimedia Controller Knob upgrade.
thank you
Will the touch pad still work after install?
Yes, it will.
@@car-analysis thanks for the reply, but how will it work if you peel up the black stuff on the first board?
The touchpad function is retained regardless of if you remove the black adhesive or not.@@TheEdy223

Appreciate your video. But, you did not do a good job showing which tabs to push down to get the ring off. Bad camera angles.
I am aware of the shortcomings of the video. Perhaps we will make an improved version later on.
hi ser.
g20 320i same ?
No, for G20 see car-analysis.com

Also how do I remove the buttons to clean behind them?
@@BarrieLindahl I am sorry, but this is beyond my area of expertise. You need to take your car to a BMW dealership.
