In 2017, I DIY the front panels with Multicam cordura fabric and Multicam webbing to be MOLLE panel and replaced with the original mag pouch panels ( straight one not slant). This modification made it useful as my trekking gears after 25 yrs just sitting in the box without idea how to adapt for trekking and camping purpose. The original mag pouches are too small to carry necessary things except small survival kits.
@kittenastrophy5951 not bad at all, although for the price and effort, an old Woodland or DCU molle vest might very been cheaper to work with. However, there's no price to be paid from the experience you gain making it yourself.
@@AevisPrime The city I live in isn't a very big military town, but we do get some stuff donated every now and then, mostly old uniforms with occasional bits of gear.
I liked the combination of the LBV 88 and the Flak. I have the LBV 88 vest but not the flak because in Argentina it is difficult to get like the Saw gunner pouch Alice and the radio pouch Alice.
@@AevisPrimeThe lbv 88 vest is a very good piece of equipment that is not resigned to disappear. It is very compatible with the FN FAL rifle magazines and does not take up space if it has its Magpul assist magazine incorporated. It is a great companion.i love it

@@AevisPrime The LBV . Later I got the combat medic vest and thinking did it worth my time DIY that. it's a factory made MOLLE LBV.

I actually had an LBV-88 come through the Goodwill I work at a while back; actually set it up on a mannequin with a set of woodland BDU's.
@Orca19904 now thats a goodwill I'd be glad to dig through. Somehow, Goodwill always get the coolest shit roll through them

@carlosroda3900 trust me, getting some of those pouches is hard even here in the US. The supply of Flak vests had definitely dried up in recent years.
