  • Just a quick update on the progress of how the Cadilac CTS-V 6 piston upgrade is going ( specs are found below if you are after the set up) ,
    Plus we are putting a Camshaft package in! The decision to do this is based on the L77 for having common lifter related issues at between 60-100km of mileage where it chews up the rollers and prematurely wears the lobes on the cam. The car has done 82000km of largely trouble free motoring and it’s mainly about preserving good mechanics. Whilst doing this swap it makes sense while everything is open to upgrade the cam, timing chain, lifters, retainers and valve springs.
    The Camshaft package is from LSX performance parts and is a Texas Speed cam stage 1 - cam specs 225/236 .629 .615 @113LSA , pac dual valve springs .660, titanium retainers, chrome moly pushrods, ARP head bolts, roll master 4 bolt timing chain.
    Additionally I have purchased;
    - powerbond 25% underdrive
    - new injectors from previous video
    Will do a mafless tune. This cam was picked for street manners where I can DD the car whilst having a tough and noticeable idle with more power to 3000rpm than anything else on the market. Should be good for 440-450rwhp. I would rather sacrifice 30+ Hp up top for good manners and low down performance.
    Planned other mods of a GPI ported TB and a GPI ported rod mod manifold could net a further 15 rwhp potentially which would take it to the 460+rwhp which would make up for the loss everywhere and not just at the top.
    Other mods to compliment the changes :
    3.9 diff ratio (manual box)
    Need new headers/cats as parts are scratched/squashed from being low so time for a refresh
    Brake set up ;
    Cadillac CTSV 6 piston Brembo upgrade
    Cadillac CTSV 4 piston brembo rear kit
    DBA 5000 series 2 piece front rotors 390mm (brakes direct)
    DBA 4000 series single rear rotors 368mm
    Circo Motorsport m119 pads front (R35GTR)
    Circo Motorsport m119 pads rear (FPV GT)
    Street pads - power stop ceramic front and rear
    New ac delco brake bolts all round
    Custom braided brake lines to suit
    Penrite Dot 5 brake fluid

      I think that’s where a lot of people miss out on max effort set ups sure they make power but it’s out of the butter zone on the street. Looking forward to seeing how it performs!

    That looks good mate.he what spacers did you use . I am in the same boat with mine an a bit hesitant on which ones to get and if I am going to need longer wheel studs and thickness. I have been looking at some 12mm eccentric ones. Thanks for your help.

      Make sure you get good quality ones. AF racing make these they are billet Ali and are excellent these were 20mm - no requirement to change studs
