Always happens with power steering pumps. The airate the oil so much! Worst part is because they have such a small reservior it just keeps cycling the air through the system!
The vanes move in and out to compensate for the shape of the housing, and maintain a fluid seal. It's the volumetric change between consecutive blades and the out of round casing during rotation that generates pressure.
Recently got a Falcon PS pump that’s modified for my LS1 Cross8 build. I was told they are a better pump than the Holden one. Not entirely convinced of that. Also have to run Ford PS oil in the system. Have a decent cooler fitted too. I’m on the fence to fit it. Thoughts on that because as this shows, the Ford PS pump isn’t bullet proof either.
Ive got a pump off my old ba turbo burnout car never had a high pressure line replaced never leaked and is still quiet as a mouse and its seen 6500rpm hitting full lock i literally kept it because its a unicorn pump 😅
Can you just go straight to the astra pump set up, really want to do it but would like to see a wiring guide first, there is a video of one in an xb conversion but it has a delayed start, some mentioned how to wire it right but would like to see some one I trust do it first
@@BennysCustomWorks here is the video I was talking about ua-cam.com/video/Yy6oQPJJ2qY/v-deo.html you will see in the comments some one said they made up something so it starts instantly and others claim certain wiring does the same thing
Haha all the first comments Porn!!! Moist they are for sure maybe but i'm broke 😂👍🍻 gonna get a t-shirt but 15% off getting in on that action. Question is Benny what brand are they ?? Me being on the beers fat hoping they are AS XL for sure

You're right Benny I have 5 or 6 of those little cutters, I use them all the time. Cheers from NZ, Phil.
No episode from Benny without spilling something on the floor.... :-)
I bet it's the same every morning.

Love this series, going to be finding a BA/BF for these shenanigans over the next few weeks.
Nice!! They’re a great platform for the price

Thanks for the clarification.
@@BennysCustomWorks PS love the videos👍
Haha yes Benny I'm a fridgey and I've got that pipe cutter them little ones are very handy
Sweet vid Benny. Thanks! Best of luck in the states bro.
Informative, and some absolute banging tunes, is there a tracklist somewhere?
and for everybody who does not have an oil company sponsor, using Honda fluid cures most problems on ford power steering systems.
Im curious, would an underdrive pulley help in situations like these? Is that fluid cooking due to too much use or due to heat from the engine bay?
Hey mate, yes I would say so 100%
6:35 what is that adapter called that you are using to connect the 2 hoses? And where can I buy one?
Literally going through this same process on my stagea. Standard power steering system wasn't a fan of the skid pan.
Love me a BA :D
Clear Prop!
Upper migthy b series 😉 good work mate

first it was the ford 9inc to solve Holden problems. now its a ford power steering pumps haha
The aircon condenser has had a bit of durability testing done on it 😆... used to make them back in the day .
Must have done a good job on this one, still holds pressure and is icy cold :)
@@BennysCustomWorks Denso quality ✅ just like mr Sparkle (Sparkalu) check check & check again
gotta say the soundtrack was bussin' on this ep

Great info
There was no Hi 5 at the end. Did you have to stay and not go home?
I’m still here …..
i just killed a pump in my au
rip
i need to drain mine coz ive topped it up with just farmyard hydraulic oil rip
oscillating ring
5:30 - why the hell is that air con rad even there?
It still holds pressure
If you keep having dramas I'd go back to running a 75w/80 gear oil or 75w/85 gear oil in the P/S with the cooler aswell shouldn't ever see problems

All the ones I’ve seen are delayed too.

Its a rotary pump,
Thanks mate :)
Wait what... A late 90's/early 2000's ford with a whining/bad power steering pump? That would never happen..
👍🤙

it's no Sigma but it'll do
What's power steering? Haha, a lighter car doesn't need power steering...
