Abdellatif Louda thank you for your compliments ☺ I would recommend the webpage www.visitsvalbard.com they are well established and are really good at that kind of stuff! 😀
Nellie Nilsen Thank you also for your reply. I sent you a friend request in your Facebook account. I hope you will accept because I want to talk to you about this beautiful town.🌹
Hi, I'm from Nigeria, please, I wish to come live , work and study in Svalbard. Kindly send me a detailed information on how to get this done. Thank you.
Im glad! I live by positivity :) and your humour is just too funny :D you must've had a lot of work with the editing here, I think it shows and pays off :)
It is very hard to find a job on Svalbard as there are MANY people who want to come up there to work. I have heard of people who move up there with a job elsewhere they can work remote from, it's possible but makes it harder to meet people. I would recommend looking for jobs via the Norwegian website Finn.no and look for the Facebook groups for jobs on Svalbard. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
@@NellieNilsen Wow, I hope to get the opportunity to work there but seems need to run hard to get it. I love how people with different cultures working and living in this island , it is also upgraded life expernice as you would visit many new places it is really a different & you were one of lucky ppl. appreciate your reply thank you.
You can't get a full degree on Svalbard since it's a university center and not a normal university. However you can take plenty of courses up there, maybe that's what you meant? You can for sure get a part time job, the competition is big though and they are prioritizing people who stay a full semester or longer

Depends on your standards. If you are willing to share with someone you might get a room as cheap as 4000 nok (416 American dollars) or if you want a 3 bedroom apartment for yourself rent will be around 18000 nok (1874 American dollars). These prices are without electricity and such. Most people struggle to find a place though as you are basically living in a nature reserve on Svalbard so they keep the amount of houses to a minimum. Hope this helps! If not, there is a subreddit "r/Svalbard where you can get a lot of good answers from people currently living on Svalbard.
I'm sorry if this is a kind of a stupid question but I'm on a tight budget and I want to know if this is a place for students with tight budgets and whether it's possible to get a simple job to finance myself there or I will get some aids from the university or the government (I sound confused and confusing at the same time somehow so, sorry for that but I think you get me haha) (also , to make things clear , I want to be getting my bachelor degree from there so I'll be staying there for 3 or more years maybe ) awaiting your answer :)
UNIS is a university center, not a university, this means that you can't get a full degree there (apart from PhD i think). The only way to attent the university center is to have a spot at another university that offers exchange semesters at unis. I don't think it's very exclusive as you probably could come from any university as long as you get accepted at the unis courses. You don't even have to get a degree in Norway. When it comes to economy I don't think the Norwegian government offers anything for exchange students unless there are some scholarships I've never heard about. Part time jobs are possible to get on Svalbard but they are hard to come by and usually have a lot of applicants. I hope this answers your questions :)
@@NellieNilsen well this answers it all haha thanks a lot but this means Svalbard is not the place for me so do you have any recommendations? And by the way I'm a non EU citizen And I'm sorry to waste some of your precious time 👉👈
@@omarfilfil3894 All good :) If you want to go as far north as possible you could see if the University of Tromsø (UiT) is the right place for you. It's in Tromsø which has a lot of nothern light activity and has midnightsun and the winter darkness. I think a degree there could be combined with a semester at Svalbard depending on your degree of choice. For the visa and stuff like that I sadly don't know anything so I can't help. It's really hard to get housing in Tromsø though, so if you choose it, be EARLY to get a place to stay. But finding a part-time job there should be easier as the city has 40 000 inhabitants instead of the 2 000 of Longyearbyen
