Kanom Jean is my favorite dish. My mother is from the Isan region so I call it kaopoon. She speaks both Thai and Lao. I will have to show her your videos. I'm an aspiring food blogger as well and when I go to Thailand in September I am hoping to get more exposure to the authentic food! Love seeing all these meals!
You should make your smile the official rating scale of your videos (I think it already is!). The slight variations in your head nod and grin are how I can gauge whether you find a place just "ok", "really great", or "spectacular" before you even tell us. Keep up the hard/hungry work Mark, you're a street food inspiration!
another mouth watering video..thanks.. what i love most in thai food is the number of fresh herbs you get in every meal...so tasty fresh and certainly healthy
That's my hometown. Now I'm living in US and watched this video made me miss my family so bad,Anyway I've been to that place myself soooooo many times and believe me whatever Mark says in this video it's actually true!
For this vdeo im laughing out loud for the bloopers.. and thats funny.. tq for entertain us n make my mouth watery mark..! I want to taste that fishhhhhhhh..!
food looked great, fish was just yummy looking but looks like a white tilapia. curry looked good with all the fresh herbs and veg. great choice. good video. thank you Mark
Wow, all those dishes look incredible awesome! And the idea to serve raw vegetables on the side is really nice. I would guess it can bring the heat down as well if you have really spicy dishes. Jealous!
Nice video, i just discovered your channnel. Nothing special to see in Korat but it's a quiet city to live, quite nice place. And food is really cheap there.
Thanks for the reply Mark! If you ever head up to Nong Khai, north of Udon Thani they have many good restaurants along the Mekong river. Worth a visit, lovely place!
Thank you very much mitchelljarvis2010. I've only passed through once, but never stayed. Next time I'm in that area, I will definitely try to spend some time in Udon.
I just found your channel a few days ago, and I am in love with your videos! All of your videos are high quality, and are very well done! Subscribed! :)
Mark, you look like you have lost weight. I don't know how that is possible with the way y'all eat. Hope you are taking care of yourself. Love you and Yings videos!
I'm used to being a little. jealous of you when I see you eating amazing food. But I usually know I can get something similar or make something similar if I need to. But this time, I know that I can't get anything like that. I don't know any place that does the fermented noodle dishes. It looks so amazing. Thanks for the video.
Once again, good job on your descriptions of interesting foods and the "delicious face." P.S. - how long did it take to attain your impressive mastery of Thai language. You're not part ethnic Thai, right? Your mom was of Chinese extraction?
Mark, as a food critic (now you have an official title😘), do the restaurant owners like or appreciate the critique you give them? You are honest and I for one really like to see you eat. This place must have been a better place as they have table clothes on their tables. I am going to try the salted fish soon. I have also been replacing some of the vegetables with local state side fare. Lotus root/celery, banana flower/squash flowers and so on. We are getting okra now, do you ever see okra over there? Good eating better living.
Hey See Canon Thank you very much. Overall, apart from a few cases in the last few years, everyone has been fine with me filming and reviewing their restaurants. I think the key is that it's just my wife and I filming - so we don't go with a whole group, and we keep it pretty low key, just like a home video. Good to hear you're eating lots of vegetables, I love them too!
You're eating that fish right off the bone, or with mini bones in each bight! haha. Still delicious, Kanom jeen with the green curry and little eggplants is possibly my favorite thing to eat in Thailand!!
I miss kanom jeen so much. My parents were born in Southern of Thailand and they had kanom jeen all the time. Is there any way to deliver these food to where I live (Canada) lol? เห็นแล้วหิวคับพี่ 55+
