Wow, that Set is really stunning and cheap for what it is! NICE video!

I actually just purchased this set tonight. I do already have the 3x8 fine grit Diasharp and I love it so much. It was the first stone that I ever got a knife shaving sharp off of, for whatever reason. I will always recommend that stone to people wanting to learn how to freehand sharpen, because it brings a blade to an apex lightning fast and its an excellent stone if you just want a single stone/single strop system. Great video. 👍

Thanks for the feedback, I know I’m super late to respond to this, I thought I was notified every time a comment was left… I was wrong! Lmao! So totally new to the UA-cam game

Thank you for this video. I have been looking for a good starting set of diamond stones for my free hand sharpening of folders as well as chisels and plane irons.

That's not a bad deal. I picked up the Ultra Sharp plates from Best Sharpening Stones. You can get the 2X6 300, 600, 1200 for around $45. I got the 3X8 300, 600, and 1200 for around 115. They seem solid to me. They are extremely coarse until they get broken in though. I did have a very good customer service experience with them.

I’ve had my eye on them, but didn’t pull the trigger just because I wasn’t too familiar with them. I’ll have to purchase some in the future and do a video to compare. If they are as good or close to it for cheaper people should know. Just because there is a big brand name associated with a product doesn’t mean it’s the best!

Thanks for the informative video. New to stone sharpening. Learned a lot from your video. I found your technique to work way better for me. One thing I want to look into getting is that stone holder/clamp that you were using. Where did you get that one?? An I'm guessing the jaws are rubber?? Since you just popped out one stone an put another one in without opening up the jaws. Thanks in advance! ⭐👍🏼👍🏼

I’m glad the video helped you out! I have a video dedicated to teaching freehand techniques, you should check that out as well!
