scene goes unbelievably hard, feel free to screenshot Music: X Gon' Give It To Ya - DMX Show: For All Mankind - Season 4 - Episode 7: "Crossing the Line"
Wasn't able to be first man on the moon, wasn't the one that found Ice on it or attack another country in space either, but ffs he will be the first to steal a celestial body (i hope)
Dev has been an absolute savage this season, from retaking his company, firing yes men/women and now stealing the astroid. Ed's smirk at the end says it all. Excellent use of music as well. Dev's gonna give it to ya!
Miles only briefly showed at the beginning in the crowd of strikers, with him and Ilya just looking at each other. From what we see, miles doesn't participate in the worker strike because he's already making crazy side hustle cash from the mars rocks hence him not caring much about higher work compensation. But weird to kinda stop focusing on him after he takes over the tavern and leave speculation onto what he's doing. I imagine next episode we'll get a glimpse at what he's up to and his current motives.
I was so confused by Dev sabotaging the strike because it ended any chance of a real colony which made no sense with his planning on staying. The fact that he was purging everyone who wasn't a true believer so he could stage a revolution...
I think whats gonna happen is that their plan is gonna be to pretend to work with everyone else to "send the asteroid to earth" but during the actual redirect mission they're gonna end up over-correcting on purpose and leave the asteroid in mars orbit, forcing the M7 nations to expand the mars colony and thus building a martian city
He's bringing back that cult of personality he had last season. He gave the strikers a lot, and didn't tie it to the bonus system (so no risking your life for the best benefits). I got the sense it was better than the demands - the only hold outs weren't holding out for money, but because they thought his deal involved losing Goldilocks, which meant their jobs would be gone after and the gains were moot without the jobs. The important part was that they got what they got from his hands directly, not at the bargaining table. He needs a core group of loyal workers to pull off the asteroid heist, and to secure Mars during the immediate blowback once he does. I suspect he made the bonus changes before he left specifically to engineer the labor crisis, and ensured the managers on site would never negotiate so the crisis would only escalate. Then he gets to arrive and make it rain. He's subverted the national governments and his own chain of command and gained the direct loyalty of the workforce.
@@Hevachbasically Dev is playing 8D Martian Chess and is one upping everyone else, making Helios a viable antagonist nation or entity. Funny to see in this season, especially in the beginning they made viewers think it was gonna become US vs USSR again but now they show both governments and pretty much rest of M7 seemingly competing more with Helios
I like where this is going, megacorporations end up becoming the driving force for expansion into the solar system, driven by profit, causing the old guard i.e. nation states to compete by not getting left behind.
That might be one of the funniest needle drops i ever seen lmao. Love how this show went from a fairly realistic space race show to absolute insanity lol
Dev already knew that M7 would never agree with mining the asteroid on Mars orbit way before anybody else. Dude knew changing the bonus was gonna initiate the strike. He knew Rosales was going to be able to figure out how to redirect the asteroid to earth, and thus securing the funding. He played his friends and enemy like a damn chess pieces.

How is this in his own personal gain? Or mental issues? The point of the space program is that humans aren’t bound to the fate of earth. Dev has just saved the mars program and perhaps the wider space program. And humans having a large and powerful space program could save us all one day. This was the only way it would work. He couldn’t be honest with earth about his plans because they’d stop him. He couldn’t be honest with the strikers because he didn’t know who could be trusted. So he offered them money to end the strike, give up on the asteroid and they did. If they would sell out their beliefs for a little money from Dev then Dev couldn’t trust them in the heist. Yeah he used people like chess pieces, lied and manipulated them. But it was the only way the plan would work. Would it be better if dev was honest the whole time? Then they wouldn’t have gotten Goldilocks for mars and the mars program would be dead……..but at least nobody would have been lied to, because that’s what really matters.
