  • Last week Brentuning (‪@BT_Moto‬) announced their release of velocity stacks for the first generation S1000XR and right away I was interested. I reached out to them and they were kind enough to offer me a complimentary set, confident I would be impressed with these; they were not wrong.
    The bike now pulls hard where before it started losing steam. This mod goes great with the increased redline and will work perfect on those longer straights at the track. If you're looking to get the most horsepower out of the S1000XR, this mod is for you, I can easily recommend it.
    Something to keep in mind is that you will need to get an updated tune from Brentuning, so if you did not have their tuner already, getting it all can be expensive. I would not recommend getting this mod without a proper tune.

    Heres a shout out to you Cubin rider..
    Always looking forward to your content as for one who only dreams to ride someday inwhich ive opted out for the sake of raising some of my kiddos as a single father in trade off from doing some amazing riding as you do... I follow a few channels and out of all of them you pan out for being my favorite channel of all. Your bmw is my favorite as for you get speed and comfort for long hauls...Its amazing how you track down all these sport bikes as if your on a sleeper bike..Just an ole touring bike although getting all the best features all in one bike...Your talented riding skills are noted and I personally always enjoy watching you pound the pavement while handling those curves and lifting that front wheel up just for giggles so smoothly..
    Just taking stakes that im one of your biggest fans on here and reconize those skills with that amazing machinery you own...I will leave the skills to you and be looking forward for more content in the future..Looking forward to seeing some more tenneesee riding as to where im from.. Maybe hitting up 421 hwy the snake for more footage? Whats your thots? Have you rode it yet or heard of it....I followed and subscribe my 1st channel by witnessing some riders up there and that was when I ran across your channel ..Been hooked ever since to yours....

    Great to have another video 👍 BMW didn't make that easy to do ! Easy to change velocity stacks and lose power everywhere bar the top - Brentuning have tested and approved....and he knows his stuff 🙂

    Great vid as always CR, looks and sounds like it rips all the way past redline! Awesome!
    May have to look into it myself now.
    One thing I noticed is that your steering/bars seem crooked (cocked to the right) which was exactly the same as mine.
    I loosened top and lower triple clamps as well as the front wheel axle and twisted my bars left and right with the front wheel clamped in bike lift and now it's straight as a die.
    Again, not sure yours is the same but it does come across that way on camera.
    All the best, ride safe, ride well.

    I have been think about getting the Brent tune and changing the rear sprocket like you have done. Can not wait for my 2016 s1000xr to get back from the shop.

      What's up David. I had the 42t rear sprocket on my old XR, and I enjoyed it, but the stock gearing works really well for the track work I've been submitting it to. I think when it's time to replace it I might keep the same.

    Velocity stacks: pushing the power curve around, at the expense of losses where there used to be gains.
    Depends entirely on what your goals are, and if your goals are to lose mid-range and gain top end, you might find short stacks a "net gain."

    • @CubanRider
      @CubanRider  2 роки тому +1

      Brentuning posted a dyno chart on their comments on Facebook, the losses are minimal; if anything it helps controls the wheelies because now it is even more linear. I should be strapping mine to a dyno this week.

    Hey Cuban, love your videos- especially when you chuckle after hard pulls- lol
    I have done almost all upgrades that you have done to your XR, just waiting to send the flash to bren to get a file back.
    I am kinda stuck at installing the fuel tank after completing all work. The side holes just don't line-up, the fuel line is routed exactly as it was and nothing is getting stuck at the bottom. Your videos don't show how you put it back- lol. Need help. TIA.

    • @CubanRider
      @CubanRider  Рік тому

      hey Andy, did you figure it out? The front side of the tank fits very tight inside the frame, I find that putting the edge of one side in first, and then finding a very skinny screwdriver to push the other side in helps. Once both sides in the front go in, then the rear just falls in place.

    • @andyc966
      @andyc966 Рік тому

      Hey @@CubanRider thanks for writing back. I tried all of that, it just doesn't slide in; maybe I didn't push it hard enough thinking I might damage something.
      Also, I ended up removing those clips from the tank- thinking the tank would fit onto them after I install them on the frame first but learned that those clips can only go on the tank from the side. I am in a bigger mess now because I cannot install those clips back. Not sure what tool did BMW use to fit them. What the heck.

    • @CubanRider
      @CubanRider  Рік тому

      So you removed the treaded portion that goes into the plastic tank?

    • @andyc966
      @andyc966 Рік тому

      @@CubanRider the threaded screws are just metal pieces which slide into the plastic hinges. I snap-removed the hinges, but can't pop them back in.

    • @andyc966
      @andyc966 Рік тому

      So, I ended up trimming the edges of the inner grooves that the plastic hinges snap against (on the fuel tank) and then pressing hard from the sides finally got those plastic hinges back ON. Then followed your method of using a thin screwdriver landed the tank back in place.
      Cuban, I owe you. Perhaps a steak party whenever you come to Northern Virginia- lol

    Just so you know, Bren steals his velocity stack designs from other smaller shops and markets them as his own. And by steals I mean asks to partner with shops, takes delivery on stacks then cuts out the other shop and starts producing their stacks himself.

    • @CubanRider
      @CubanRider  2 роки тому +2

      I know they've had these for the S1000RR for some time now. I don't know about their dealings with other companies, I certainly don't advocate shady business practices, but if what you claim is true, that's something for them to fight in court. In the meanwhile, I'm happy to see products for our bikes are still being developed and tested.

    • @to-yg1tx
      @to-yg1tx 2 роки тому

      @@CubanRider I won't speak on which stacks, I only know of one specific instance of this happening. I'm glad you found an upgrade that works for you, it's just unfortunate that Bren operates like that since he runs a pretty well known business and doesn't need to be shady to be successful. Hopefully it isn't a common occurrence for him.
