As a Rockets fan, we absolutely DO NOT want to see this happen. Personally, I want to give the team as currently constructed a chance to win before making any moves for an established star. Obviously, the Suns wouldn’t trade KD for just their picks; they’d want probably two of our young players as well. It’d be disappointing to give that up for a star, and even more so for KD as he’s old and injury prone (not to mention a guy I don’t really wanna root for).
As a Rockets fan, everything seems to be progressing in the way we would like.
If Jalen Green remains inconsistent this season, then next season I believe we’ll use our picks from Phoenix to bring in Booker as he’s much more aligned with us from an age perspective.
Durant completely messes up our young core & stability, for someone who while solid, is clearly past his best.
Our front office tryna give up sengun to make the trade not Jalen. We honestly should let our young core grow together

I feel like Suns fans would happily see KD leave for some young talent and picks. You don’t need 3 iso scorers. Make one of them Sengun, Markkanen, Towns, etc. that would be way better.
Beal is the problem since his position overlaps with Booker. Bigger problem is the owner shutting down coaches idea about getting true point guard for a more playing time of three stars they have.

I don't think they will, but teams are starting to see the value in trading away multiple stars in their prime. OKC, the Nets... if you can get good value you can set yourselves up well if you're willing

Houston could see the writing on the wall and want to keep those Phoenix picks. They could easily both be in the top ten. Durant is old, Booker and Beal play the same position, and the Suns have no real ways to upgrade their roster due to new luxury tax restrictions.
The only surprising thing to me about Kevin Durant is that he’s still playing at a high level, after the numerous injuries he had in Brooklyn. I was expecting a major drop off in the last season or two.
Mat Ishbia seems very soft and thin-skinned. Plus he flopped during that series against Denver two seasons ago

Man look we can't control what the Rockets do, so why even speculate. I'm resigned to the idea of KD coming, because one thing is for sure, Ime Udoka is running his team. I have faith in Ime as a coach to get the Rockets where they need to be. One thing I learn when the Rockets were getting their chips was, Rudy. He was a player's coach, he knew how to identify with his players and motivate his players. KD coming here may be what he needs, because KD is coachable unlike Lefraud. So let's see, and if happens, let's hope Ime can be the difference KD needs, because no matter how y'all feel, KD still has game and a good coach like Ime can help. Remember Boston aren't who they are because of Joe, they are who they are because of Udoka. But they need to keep Alpi. Alpi needs Ime too.

Dudes entire career is him leaving as soon as the situation isnt absolutely perfect. I dont know that id be offering up a bunch of picks for that guy at this point. Especially for Houston. Theyve got a team full of young players with potential, why risk all of that? Let the players continue to get better and keep drafting well. Teams get too ahead of themselves and it sets them back so far they have to do another full on rebuild.
Imagine being a coach who has two guards drafted #3 and #8 and neither one of them were starters.

Only thing that KD accomplishing by wanting another trade is making Steph’s legacy look better.
All this talk about how Durant feels or what the Suns want becomes irrelevant because it isn't very likely that the Houston Rockets actually want KD.
Why would they?
1. They aren't ready for a final push to a championship, they're too early in their build.
2. How exactly is a guy in his late 30s who is going to breakdown at any moment going to help them at this point in their rebuild?
3. They'd take him if they got him for peanuts which the Suns won't allow.
So yea, this probably isn't' going to happen. If the Suns want to blow up their roster, the Rockets are a lot more likely to go after Booker. Not Durant. Durant has essentially proven to be a Franchise killer at this age.
I just don't see why KD would want to go to Houston of all places. At this point in his career, he should go to a team that could realistically be a contender with him on the roster. If he's not in a "win-now" mindset, he's basically just treading water until it's time to hang up the jersey.

Who’s to say the Suns aren’t acting like the Nets did with Bridges? In that case, they may have already decided to trade KD but they’re waiting until the best circumstances, or when they have more leverage.

I honestly dont like how ppl change the narrative around KD. KD in gsw left because as the best player, he was treated very disrespectfully by GM at the time and also Draymond. They failed to address it in house and he decided he isnt wanted there. Same thing that happened with Jordan Poole. The Nets situation was weird because he really had a chance to win that team a championship and boost his legacy but we know injuries played a part in destroying all that. But Harden forced his way out then there was tension with Kyrie and the Nets and he wanted to leave. He defenitely played a major part in that but we acting like this happens every time. No sources said KD asked for a trade from PHX and KD didnt go there expecting the second (CP3) and third (Ayton) best players at the time to get traded away. Yall think he LeGM when he not he didnt agree to any of that.

Every team he's been to since that last chip he won has been cursed: torn achilles in 2019 Finals, missed the entire 2020 season, lost in the 2nd round by an inch in 2021, embarrassingly swept in 2022 w/Kyries antics forcing Harden out, then he forces a trade to PHX and almost immediately gets hurt in 2023, and this year the Suns got embarrassed in the 1st round by Minny. You bring KD on board anywhere, you've cursed your franchise.

Your assuming the nets pick may be better. But for a team with like the nets they are incentize to continue to improve and the picks make or may not be more valuable depending on many factors. While if you control your own picks you control you own destiny. If you want to dump salary and players and tank it's much easier if you control your own pick rather than rely on another team in this case the nets.
