Cody Williams healthiest 11 game stretch early in year of 24 he played he averaged 16.5ppg on 61% from the field and 56% from 3. His injuries were pretty significant especially the ankle at the end he shouldn’t have played on and slowed him down but he had much success as an underweight freshman and he has very good physical tools and the blueprint for NBA success from his brother I disagree with the idea he has high bust potential

He is like every average player on this list this year, i see maximum 6 players can be someone on NBA: sarr, shepperd, buzelis, Holland, dillinghan, clingan. Castle has no shoot, collier looks like average player, edey is to weak on nba, mcain Has only shoot worse version of huerter, risacher will be disaster i dont understand how can be that high i see how he play he is tall and Has good balance that's all no spacing no atlethcism, average defend, no efficient he is max 10 on this draft

Definitely see the reasoning behind Salaün being a reach for Charlotte but as a fan I liked the pick a lot. The new front office Jeff Peterson and coach charles Lee made it clear they were both super high on this kid from the get go and loved what they saw about his work ethic and shot and defensive ability so I’m gonna trust them. He was flying up the boards and was likely getting grabbed in the top 10 anyway imo so I respect the move taking a bigger risk on a raw prospect especially in a weak draft like this.

As a spurs fan the spurs would’ve picked him so them trading down and acquiring him wouldn’t have worked. When yall took him we traded the pick. That’s why it wasn’t announced before the draft.

@@ethangagnon9346No, hes not a PF because he does not possess a PF skill set. He's a center and yes, a "true" big man. As for Joker, are you under the impression that other centers effectively guard this man? I dont really get this comment but i will highlight that youd probably actually want to go with a PF against Joker. Not that its this simple either way, but for the sake of your concern we can highlight that.

  • @BnaBreaker

I get the concerns with Edey, but to be honest, Memphis is probably be the best possible fit for him. Also, Ja thrives with a hard screening big man on the court. And on defense if he does get beat from time to time there are guys like Jaren Jackson, Vince Williams Jr. and Marcus Smart to cover for him. Love this pick.

NGL i like the reasoning but the actual grades feel random. Felt like out of the top ten no one was getting A grades just A- even though you really liked the pick. Ik the actual grades aren't that important, but it did feel kind of random and arbitrary as the reasoning didn't always line up with the grade.

Regarding the Hornets pick, unfortunately, I heard they had a deal with Portland to swap pics and get another pick in exchange, but then Woj and his boys decided to leak that the hornets were definitely taking Salaun so the Blazers pulled their trade. Also, Memphis just wanted a straight up swap of six and nine with no draft capital and couldn’t get a deal done. So the Hornets went and got their guy. If that’s the guy they want, I’m fine with it.

With Edey he will be fine with Ja, especially with the pick and roll. Perimeter defense is still a question but the block on Knecht in the elite eight shows he can move and has great body control when he needs to. Especially with his work ethic, I think he is more versatile than people think because at Purdue he had a role and played it perfectly. He’s efficient and draws fouls without flopping and can imagine him developing into a 15pt/8-10reb a night guy.

The problem you have with Zach Edey is wild. Ja played his best basketball with Steven Adams, a guy who can't do much outside the key. Teach Edey how to set picks and crash the key at an NBA level like Adams can, and he's the perfect fit next to Ja. Dude is 7'4, 300 pounds, and can get rebounds at will. I'd agree that there's a risk with how he adjusts to the NBA since he's a very old school build, but when it comes to what Memphis needed from this draft then he was the best option available. A big body, that can get rebounds, and can physically clear the key for Ja.

I agree, SROS has been a Edey hater for the whole draft process. He loves to put Edey on the thumbnail. I'm not saying Edey will dominate but how can you have such a different reaction to Donovan Clingan

  • @munk5170

With the Edey space issue you have to remember Steven Adams was the same thing while being more limited offensively, Ja was still dominant, these big guys just work with him

I’d personally give Matas an A as I’m very high on him I have him top 3 in this class and the bulls got him at 11 major steal

As a Bulls fans I loved this pick. I am also very high on his upside, and the bonus fact that he is from Chi-Town just makes him more motivated and ready to put in work. I mean he showed the most emotion out of anyone at the draft when his named was called.
Just crossing my fingers that the Bulls don't ruin Matas's development as that would the most Bulls thing ever.

I’ve become more accepting of the Topic pick a day after.
He’ll replace the main facilitator of the bench unit role that Giddey refused. The Thunder’s second unit needed play creating, so Topic should help with that.
Presti has until October to fill gaps at the starting 4 and backup 5 spots, but free agency is coming soon. We’ll see!

Yeah it's not exciting getting someone who won't play but it's fine. I honestly see it as just getting potentially the most valuable asset they could and I expect him to be traded before he gets extended off his rookie deal.

If other Thunder fans gotta get used to one thing it’s not seeing the draft as the main event for our offseason anymore. We were just the #1 seed, we’re not in the phase of needing to make a huge splash to find the next piece of our core in the draft anymore. The Topic pick was perfect, highest value there at 12 by a landslide with his potential and it gives more flexibility and options in the future

@@Flamerunner451thunder fans are delusion. You’re not a free agency destination team. Drafting Tyler smith , or filipkowshi would have kept you as the number 1 seed. They still need size and rebounding. This isn’t even that good of free agency market

Hey Matt I know you’re not a heat fan so you may not see much of it. But Bam doesn’t want to play Center as much. He wants to play his true position as a PF, assuming this is why Miami opted into drafting ware.

Hi! I strongly disagree about Risacher. For sure he will have a big impact immediately. His ability to knock down 3s and to defend multiple possition will be a huge asset for the Hawks. At least he will be a great starter for a championship team, the only question is about his ceiling

Wizards the big winners of this draft for me. Got Sarr, got future picks and also got Malcom Brogdon and Bub Carington. S tier draft. Other winners IMO are Rockets and Utah Jazz.
Biggest player winner is Dalton Knecht. Gets to the perfect situation with AD/Lebron/JJ Reddick and to a marquee team like the Lakers.
