- The longest Quick Tip ever! But did you know that the 2600 can emulate different filter characteristics? This tutorial is about an overview and some use cases for the voltage processor. Sorry, it's getting lenghty and nerdy in this video.

Thank you for this video. I attended Berklee in the 70s took the electronic music course. The teacher demonstrated the upside down keyboard patch and I was blown away
I recently purchased a gray meanie so again, thanks a lot!
I am a brand new Arp 2600 user, this video really kickstarted my explorations! Looking forward to watch the rest of your tutorials!
Great set of tips on a very flexible but poorly understood section of the 2600. Well done! The note about the ring mod in to the VCA being inverted was new to me.
@Ryker Santino No one cares
Huh I didn't know about the inverter on that ring mod input! Explains why my earlier attempt at this wasn't working ;) Thanks for the video!
this thing is riddled with rhymes eh, hahaha great synth
I just got a Behringer 2600 yesterday, I had absolutely no idea what the Voltage Processor section was for - thank you for showing me!
You all prolly dont care at all but does anyone know a way to get back into an instagram account??
I stupidly lost my login password. I would love any tricks you can give me.
@Wyatt Kairo Instablaster :)
@Clay Sutton thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm.
I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Clay Sutton it did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. Im so happy:D
Thanks so much, you really help me out :D
@Wyatt Kairo You are welcome xD
every 10 seconds was awesome new critical information and knowledge w no fluff omg ty
This is the best video I've seen on this subject.
Thank you
Great 'Quick Tips' - good ideas to get us experimenting with a great synth - Thanks
The possibilities are really endless. Thanks so much for this very useful video! I'm going to try the different filter types on my B2600 right away ^___^
Since I haven't touched a 2600 since the mid 90's, it's a pleasure to get refreshed by your tutorials. Thanks, keep it up!
Was the same.
Until yesterday, when mine arrived.
I'm happy now.
@@Beinlausi I can only agree - the feeling is the same, so no matter what circuits and resistors are used in the clone vs. original.
Yeah, I miss the bigger format of the ARP, but being able to rack mount this beauty, it compensates on the spot!
This small series is pretty helpful. ❤
As usual excellent , thank you for the demo and explanation
Cheers, much appreciated!
Tom, you do a fantastic job of explaining the voltage processors. Thank you.
You are welcome!
Tom, no tackiness in this video. It is exciting. And all the more so since I was trying to discover the possibilities of the Voltage Processor. A very big thank you.
Didier
Thanks for your feedback! Happy if it helped.
This is really good stuff! Thank you VERY much for posting this!!
Great video t.noise. I've watched already a number of your tutorials and let me say - MANY THANKS/Vielen dank 🙂. As somebody said - ARP2600 is not complicated, is complex. But your work helps a lot. Keep doing so!!! Best Regards.
Once again you're like a god, thanks again so much for these videos. So many hidden tips and tricks about the 2600 I'd never have known otherwise, like the Ring Mod has a hidden Phase Inverter!
Love it! Great tutorials. Keep on this cool stuff..

@@tomnoise23 definitely this is great, I haven’t heard anyone discuss this section in such depth yet or explain how to unlock other filter modes. Mind blown haha

One could also get the Arturia ARP 2600 VST and just copy the patches...
What are the two VSTs you are showing in the bottom right? One I can see is called Insight. What is the other one?
Melda MOscilloscope and Izotope Insight
Tom, this is Jamie, superb stuff mate
Thank you Jamie!
I agree, I love this. The start of a Masterclass on the 2600 perhaps? Cheers, Steve.
Hey what are those two plugins you use?
Hi Can, this is Melda Moscilloscope: www.meldaproduction.com/MOscilloscope and Izotope Insight 2: www.izotope.com/en/products/insight.html
T noise , can you teach me how to make that 2600 Depeche Just can’t get enough kick?
Hi Mark, thanks for your question. I will check it out and might include the sound in one of the next tutorials.
Nice examples for those with a sustained interest in the 2600. There are other methods that are secrets to the wise patcher. EXPLORE.
Hang on, maybe I’m wrong but this is not a real high pass.
It’s more like a signal cancelling.
Of course it’s still a ladder filter ( not a state variable filter) in a certain configuration- the result is a high pass filter because the low frequency will be cancelled and only high frequency will pass above the cutoff frequency.
