For me no cheats means everything is allowed unless you need to type a cheat in the cheat console. I prefer not to use moveobjects, but liveeditobjects is something different😅
The crazy assumption that someone opening the sims for the first time could do that corner roof! It took me about 6 months of gameplay and watching frame by frame UA-cam videos...
When I first started trying to build properly in the sims I didn't use the moveobjects cheat because I didn't want to accidentally block my sims and figured the default slots would make sure of that. After having watched simmers like you and having done more playing in things I have built myself, I can confidently use moveobjects to have more cluttered houses without worrying as much!
I have a silly idea for a video that Kayla won't see. ;w; Deliberately build and furnish a house that looks "sad" as she calls it, but then make it look _really spooky_ so that the sadness suits the house. lol

You have these controls on console. First to "alt place" press the upper left bumper, this will tell you in small print "Full", "Half" or "free" placment. Free placement takes the object off grid. To size up or down an object pick up and hold said object, then press and hold both L and R upper bumpers and use the directional pad up or down to resize. Someone tell simsie she doesn’t have to make starter homes all the time 😭😫😫🙏🙏
But she enjoys making these kinds of builds so thats whats important also its kinda her expertise at this point
@@unixerse297 she always gets so stressed tho :(
HEEJIN
@@s6scha That's content though. A video where she just builds and is all happy about everything and everything perfectly works out how she envisions things would be boring. The reason sim builders do build challenges in the first place is simply for content (and I am not calling it out, it's just natural and makes sense)
It’s apart of the challenge lol
💡NEW BUILD CHALLENGE IDEA 💡
NO BASE GAME ITEMS!!!
You're only able to build with packs and kits!!!
No default roofing, terrain paint, plants, stairs you get the idea. And of course you can use walls but if it comes from the base game you can't use it!!! 🏠🖥️😁
And it’s a budget challenge! Imaging having only 15/20k and no base game!!
me and my cc furniture army: *heh, u call that a challenge?*
@@Itsetanaj 😂😂 I would love cc but I play on PS so its not choice 😢
yes please i am sick of those base game items in every video
@@lildaisyheart me too
“I don’t even know what to say” when she was placing the landscaping had me CRYING 😂😂😂😭
I wanna see this plus only using the sims 4 camera, THAT is a challenge!
I don’t use any other camera lol
What other camera is there?
@@wyvern713 there's the default Sims 4 camera, and then Sims 3 camera, you can change this in the settings or in the top right corner in live/build mode
@@tina41093 Oh right. I have no idea what the Sims 3 camera looks like, so I didn't even realize that that's what she was using. How is it different?
The sims 3 camera is genuinely better imo, it's not about getting used to the sims 4 camera, the sims 3 camera just makes more sense
I never use cheats when building, mainly because I don't know what 90% of them are. Then again, I rarely build a full house and usually furnish existing shells.
For me no cheats means everything is allowed unless you need to type a cheat in the cheat console. I prefer not to use moveobjects, but liveeditobjects is something different😅
Wow I cannot imagine not using moveobjects!
The crtrl + F thing is in the description of the tiles, so I think it should be allowed if you do this challenge again.
The crazy assumption that someone opening the sims for the first time could do that corner roof!
It took me about 6 months of gameplay and watching frame by frame UA-cam videos...
My favorite pastime: watching skilled builders break down when they have to build like a new simmer :)
2:20 "This house is boring." And it looks already more interesting than everything I built.
She's not using cheats AND has a budget, she really likes to get stressed hahaha, but as usual, a better and prettier house than all of mine
I have a silly idea for a video that Kayla won't see. ;w;
Deliberately build and furnish a house that looks "sad" as she calls it, but then make it look _really spooky_ so that the sadness suits the house. lol
7:38 - If I remember correctly the sims tells you how to paint a whole room or wall with shift if you hover over something in the wallpaper tab. So you’re right that it should count, because the sims tells you it exists. Rather than waiting for you to find out like with alt placing or the roof trick. If I’m being completely honest, I didn’t even know the roof trick existed until you pointed it out in the video.
As a console player, this is very normal for me. Cheats on console are a pain in the ass and not really worth the effort.
The sims is the worst, i want to move to pc but i have like 16 packs and they don’t transfer and i dont want to waste my money so
I use them on console all the time
I still can’t figure out how to resize objects. Pc players are so lucky tbh, console is pretty finicky
@@moraelity to resize your hold lt and rt or l2 and r2 and the same time and press the d pad one press on the right makes it large the left makes it smaller
You have to hold down the buttons and then just press the d pad if you still need help you can goggle how to resize objects in the sims 4 on console
as someone who never uses moveobjects or alt cheats this is always how i build and ive gotten used to it so this was really funny to watch
11:36 you alt rotated the books!
Not sure how I just found you, but watching you go through this was so refreshing just because I'm also a builder, and the struggle is REAL. It's just nice to hear my own thoughts out loud. I swear, it's a strange sort of builder masochism that makes us set rules that we then have to argue with. But it's fun, right? In an "I hate this, why did I do this" kind of way LOL. Thanks for your content. You may have inspired me to open the Sims again.
lilsimsie: no cheats and tricks
also lilsimsie: here's a little tip...
if it's in game naturally, it's not a cheat
You: "Is doing X considered a cheat?"
Me, a person who's played the Sims for a decade: "Hold the phone, you can do WHAT NOW?"
You: "What about this trick? Is this a cheat?"
Me: *Vigorously taking notes* "Triangle floor tiles......Shift key for roofs...This woman's a wizard..."
Honestly I think alt placing and stuff that are vanilla features shouldn’t count as cheats, but move objects and debug should definitely count
Alt on
Books 11:35
Fruit bowl 14:09
Tree 14:14
Watching kayla before work is top tier happiness
the fact that those specific flowers are the only ones that work that close to the foundation without alt & MOO honestly explains so much about all of the OG base game landscaping...
If I remember correctly, it’s an issue with foundation. So like if you drop the foundation you can place the plants closer then raise it back. Don’t quote me though cause I haven’t done that in forever either lol
As painful and unsatisfying as this was for you, I really appreciate this challenge. As someone who doesn't know all the tips, tricks, and cheats, this was not only relatable but gave me a few ideas!
this would be impossible for me lmao i once tried to build without mods and almost cried

You're so good at building. I can't build but I do like to decorate existing houses. This is cute. I suppose you can't get good at something without practice.
Challenge idea: you must use every single pack in every single room :D I wanna see Kayak make a big expensive house!!
This is literally how I build LOL. It toik me watching your videos this week for me to learn about alt-key placement! That and moveobjects are the real gamechangers for me I think
Kayla: I won't use tips and tricks
Also Kayla: here's a trick
id like to see simsie make a build where she worries less about price when its not a price-based challenge. its okay to not always aim for a starter home! :)
Build challenge: build a house using the sims 4 camera setting
That's not that hard. I always do that. The only difference is you cant free rotate items.
I love your builds so much! I have so many downloaded. My favorites are the suburban, willow creek looking vibes like this one.
i loved this, i think you should make a video of trying to build on console because oh my god i’ve played on console for years and i’m still learning
I JUST learned mods existed for this game after having played sims for years- so I got all of the basics and now im obsessed lol, got the constant move object on and cheats on, got alt move stuff, got be a pets sims, got change lots to residentual if I want cheats
What a creative way to teach your viewership about the build features without making them feel bad for not already knowing!
11:07 i think it is because of the possible decorations? i put curtains on the windows and it looked awful how they just "flowed together" with the furnitures. and then i replaced the bed and the night stand without moveobjects and tadaa it looks aesthetic now.
I like how kayak is telling me all these built cheats and hacks, and im listening with full focus knowing very well that I play on console, and have no need to know this information 😂😂
To use all the tile options use the directional pad left or right to rotate the floor tiles direction and or chose quarter (the Triangle shaped) floor tile option.
For more controller uses press down on your left joycon to open the menu. Do this in both live mode and build mode as each has thier own control functions.
These function require no cheat codes but if you wish to use cheat codes, open the cheat bar by pressing all 4 bumpers. This will give you notice that using any cheat will negate your ability to earn any future gaming achievements/trophies. So if you are going for those then Don't open the cheat bar. Once your bar is open (in the upper left screen) enter the cheat you wish to is, bb.moveojects and such.
Hope this helped!
@@tabytastick omg tysm for all the controls, I knew a lot of them, but my point was that the controls on PC are completely different than the ones on consol and there's no reason for me to listen to Kayak's tutorials 😅 thank you for telling me these controls though, they actually helped 😁😁
It is because of the foundation... if you picked one without a wood trim, you can place closer to it...
(it messes with fence-gates and other things too-.-')
Simsie:"let's make a house without cheats" also simsie:"wow this sucks" UH YEAH
i had no idea you could change just one side of the roof, or that you can rotate the floor, or that you can have quarter pieces, or that the underneath of stairs even existed, and i've been playing this game for years.
do this again but entirely base game 😈
I built like this for a very long time, no infinite money, and no cheats at all. I never had any problems. It was pretty cool until I learned about cheats today and have been making my house way better from then.
So yeah, in conclusion, it's not as bad as people think it is to build without cheats.
Have a good day! ❤
As a console player, find out how cheats work on console was the most AMAZING thing, ever. I will never go back
This is pretty much how I built for years. I knew about moveobjects but didn't use it often because of the pathing issues it creates when you don't know about alt-placing, which I had no clue you could alt-place. And now I've just learned you can do shift on the roofs.
Could you try an European house sometime? I’m from the Netherlands and that would be really fun to watch!
For Euro builds I go to Jessicapie and Aveline. Aveline does Scandinavian and Jessicapie does English style builds. Lilsimsie only does starter blue suburbans.

@@tabytastick Yes, thank you so much!
I personally don't think using alt is a cheat. You don't need to put in a cheat code in the cheat bar. I get she changed her mind and wanted to only use techniques new players would know and nothing special like alt, but those are just hot keys and stuff and feel like that shouldn't have been excluded for a no-cheat challenge that it was branded as
Edit: she used shift to paint the walls, using that hotkey is fine but alt isn't?
I refused to play the sims 4 until toddlers came out 😅 and I watched your videos pretty much to help me build and basically just to get me through the day sometimes. So thank you for just being amazing and also inspiring so many simmers out there. Love ya and keep it up ❤
I would have said since the "shift to cover whole rooms" and "f for quarter tiles" are in the descriptions when you select the items, those are fair game. The house turned out cute!
Came to the comments to see if anyone else said this! I've been using shift for walls and floors since my first day playing the game, because it's right there.
I learnt that just now 😔 and I’m playing like 5 years 😢
I'm on console; the "cover whole room", "quarter tile", and "half tile/quarter tile/free place" functions are part of the normal noncheat interface. Don't know if "free place" works in the vertical plane bc I rarely use it anyway.
I've been playing Sims since basically the beginning and I just now found out about the quarter tiles thing. T_T
Alt placing being so engrained that Kayla didn’t even notice she rotated the books 😆🙈. Let’s be real though they look SO much better slightly askew
