@@HangWithTheBangs The infestation of internet bullies can be worse than the rat problem lol! I wouldn’t have blamed you either way DOA. Glad the outcome could leave you and your family safe n disease free with a clear conscience as well. Nice job y’all.
PS…mom….you totally ROCKED IT honey. Bc as a woman, I would have freaked out before driving home for sure. Me and kids would have probably been standing on the side of the road till they left out lol. Out of fear that one would jump on me while driving or scurry around the kids lol. And your husband is amazing as well. He handled the dirty work like a charm. The kids were just heart warming. And their naps made me chuckle a bit. Kids get the best sleep! As for the car companies, SHAME ON THEM! I’ll just leave that there.

@@HangWithTheBangsI used to own snakes and those were feeder mice known as pinkies. As a child I would try to save all our feeder mice and even as an adult I couldn’t get them to live more than a few days when they were hairless. Those were around 6 days old and she had them in your car that whole time. She could have had between 5-12 in one litter.

Please don't trap mice using glue traps or poison. It's actually more humane to trap them in rat traps as most of the time they die immediately or a lot faster than poison or dying of starvation on a glue trap in the garbage. Best option is live traps, because then you can just release them far away from your home.
I know they are creepy little things because of their unpredictable movements & however else they freak us out lol, but they are cute & just trying to live like us.
I'm glad, in the end, they left on their own & are living free in the desert or becoming part of the food chain for other animals.
I've only heard of this happening, never knew anyone who has had this happen to them.
I hope it never happens again for you guys! Best of luck 😊

Don’t forget she did almost zero research to care for that baby mouse or it would be alive. I get praising those we think are so willing to help something or someone in need. But they did little to even care for these creatures of god. Any website about pet mice will reach you how to raise a mouse. Baby or not. Incompetence.

Wow! Coincidentally, I have a 2017 Sienna and the mice got in my cabin air filter AND they ate my part of my fuel tank -- to the tune of $2,200 in repairs. Your family was so kind, it gave me a different perspective; but, I must do all I can to prevent mice from getting into my car again. New rule: NO EATING IN THE CAR. The rental I had (while mine was being repaired) comes with a $500 fine if there's evidence you ate in the car! Living next to a state park, with forest on three sides and a neighbor with a chicken coop, there are just too many critters around.

One thing you should never do to trap like rats and mice and stuff is you sticky traps because they can trap other animals that you don't intend to trap and they can catch the rat or Mouse and just let it starve they are one of the most inhumane traps that humans have made to catch like animals and stuff oh, one thing I would recommend is to use live traps and let them go far away from your house or where you don't want the animals I know you can get live jobs from a UA-cam channel called mouse tails

Should have left it in the car for the parents to come back and get. If one baby disappeared the other would too. You killed a mouse by trying to save it when it didn't need saving. Also those wire bar cages.. Ever see a mouse and what they can climb through? A 66 quart clear storage tote with lud from Walmart with air holes drilled all over is about $10 far bigger and more secure than an aquarium. Safer and no bars. This is not how you should handle a mouse/rat! I take care of them at a lab and first rule is whenever they are born there should be no noise around them. Their ears are sharper than us. And you guys have been screaming around it or talking loudly with you kids and handing over them hand in hand to each other!!! No you cannot touch them because they are very sensitive and would be scared from our touch. So next time please please make sure you guys take care of these things. This is not a joke and this is the reason it was dead. Plus it needs mothers milk also. And I hate how you guys have been picking it up and keeping it everywhere and handling it to each other. NOOOOO. really poor job in researching about them. Appreciate that it was your first time but please make sure we are very kind and research about what kind of environment they like if we encounter such situations. And your kids were so gentle but they were talking and you guys did too which is what made me angry. Please please ready this and spread the word because it is so imp to know these things as it could happen to any of us.

Hi thanks for your comment. Surprisingly there is not a lot of information online with how to take care of a baby mouse. I did research but there is not a lot out there so went with what we could find. Honestly, I would love if someone like you who has experience with mice took the time to write up a blog post or something to help others in this situation. We called around to a ton of shelters, zoos, pet stores, etc. and since they were wild mice, no one would take them so we did the best we could. It was not a joke to us, we were all really genuinely concerned for the mouse, which is why we tried to take care of it. Hopefully this never happens again, but I appreciate the info.

You CARED and that's more than most people can say. A lot of people wouldn't have tried. You taught yourself and your kids a lot through this. Caring for another creature is hard, especially when we aren't the same species. Thank you so much for trying! Try not to take what people are saying too harshly. People often forget not all things are basic knowledge. You did well for yourselves. ♥

You take care of them at a lab or you experiment on them & kill them for research? Odd to take such a high road with your condescending statements.

Good to know thanks! We had just read some baby mice blogs and that’s what they recommended but I am learning lots of new techniques for the future!
