Being a white kid with a chip on my shoulder in the early 2010's was fucked. By the time I graduated high-school the UA-cam rapper era this video talks about started to take off. I was out. I jumped to the sad boy soundcloud scene for a few years and then significantly dropped my output in 2020. In that time TikTok went from corny, to THE way to blow up. I'm 27 and lost as someone who just likes to make music. UA-cam was very much the precursor to the broader "independent, content creator, musician". I, and many others, will never even get the opportunity to sign and for reasons don't want to be part of the industry. The alternative is a whole other kind of industry now. This video is dope in that it really gives insight as to what that industry is, be it pretty disjointed at this point im time.
