WOWOWOWOW I had no idea our wedding invite would end up on this! Thank you guys so much, my husband is over the moon! We are about to celebrate 6 months of being happily married
Congratulations!
“ We’re clearing out the back log folks”-Graham more than four months Ago
Yeah, the delay in uploading the video puzzles me more than the delay in opening the packages. It's somewhat Alice in wonderland at this point and I'm trying to roll with it and turn it into a drinking game.
"You can't copy-paste off of here"
Graham I definitely remember someone screenshotting the intro and taping that to the package and it working fine.
Beej has left me wanting. My curiosity on the mystery thumb drive is immense.
Can't wait for the next Mail Time.
Imagine just a .txt file with comma separated coordinates 😬
It's the Launch Codes
I does is have to know!
Idk if D. C. Trevett will see this comment, but I snap bought Nightsong upon seeing this video.
You'll be glad to know, past Beej, that the intro does have the correct address, but less glad to know that it does not have ATTN: Mail Time
Graham: "This is so many dice."
Me: "And for Exalted, you will be rolling all of them."
And also, Graham rolled 1 success, not "94."
Whoo, Exalted! It is... quite the game, but I love it.
CHRIS from TEXAS' Strixhaven pack has already been opened on Crack a Pack, for those who are wondering.
I did an actual double take at the novella Emperor's Soul being sent. I adore that story (and Sanderson in general)
A Chistmass card? In March?
Graham: We are recording this in November.
Ohhhhhh.
But then it was from the PREVIOUS YEAR!
Paused at 11:44; gotta be honest, once you guys started talking about the address, I immediately wound back to see if the intro was indeed fixed
And now whoever looks at the YT analytics will see virtually 100% of views pause at 12:14, rewind to the beginning, then skip back to 12:14
(i don't know how much of that is actually trackable in analytics, I don't know how youtube)
The address ACTUALLY being fixed in the intro 👌
I mean, they had four months since the recording of this to change the Intro graphics...
I can't decide if I want them to catch up to real time or not. The small time capsules of yesteryear are a joy to watch. Either way always love mail time.
I don’t mind a long delay between filming and posting for that reason, but I always worry when stuff sits around unopened for many months, especially edible things.
Welcome to
MAIL TIME™
"The Brain Is A Wonderful Organ!®"
The problem is that the thumb drive will self-destruct soon after opening which means they need to be near a computer so that they can get their mission information before that happens.
Mailtime ending on a cliffhanger?!? 2022 is going to be fun!
The glitter ending up on Beej's face and glinting at us for the remainder of the video is a special treat
Is it bad that I recognized the map as Skyrim before they had it unfolded?
Did most people not?
As someone who has never played Skyrim, but deeply loves the things they love, not at all.
I have that map too. It is very nice paper
Suggested for mature readers.
Graham pauses to wonder if he qualifies as mature.
Me and every other AJ watching this: "shit, I hope that wasn't me, even though I don't know what it even would be"
I was looking for this comment lol
*stops doom scrolling* Oh, Thank god! Something good.
I'm in this comment and I don't like it
Dunning's Warehouse. Brilliant.
It's either 100 d10s or one d10,000. It's all in how you look at it.
USPS is definitely going through their backlog. I recently received a Return to Sender holiday card I had sent out to California from Ohio in 2019!
Beej is truly trying his best ... trying his best
Feels like I'm wearing nothin' at all...nothin' at all...nothin' at all...
2:50 - Think of it as a way to make those festive cards appropriate again! Okay, you opened close to _a_ Christmas. Just not the one originally intended...
4:30 - Wasn't that the American name of an anime? Trousorz Z?
11:30 - Tonic Trousers! Get them at your local Rexall!
24:30 - I'd be all over that Fallout 3 art book like a gorilla at a banana stand.
28:10 - Not as impressive a mistake from Graham as I was hoping for. >_
All hail Trou-Zor The Destroyer. Kinda curious about that thumbdrive. Also the intro does in fact show the correct address.
"Happy Smarch or whenever this is received..."
How prophetic.
I've only been watching since For Your Eyes Only, and that got me into the rest of the content.
12:05 It was correct Beej, good future sight
Aha, and the preview image on Jordynne's twitter suddenly comes to life! Nice to see more Mailtime.
I am DESPERATE to know what was in that thumb drive envelope
presumably a thumb drive
Oh man, we're getting close! Now only 4 months backlog video of people clearing out year-old backlog
sending christmas cards in march might be the new meta to deal with postal service during the panini
When they were pulling out the stuff from that last box I was all "That looks like some sort of D&D like book set." Turns out I was right. Nice.
The intro WAS correct! Go Graham!
I had to check as well and said, out loud: OMG it is correct.
Excellent, as always.
Yay, new Mail Time! I enjoy these a lot, they're just so wholesome and relaxed.
Brandon Sanderson is one of the current masters of fantasy novels imo. Definitely worth reading his stuff.
heeeeey, it's Smarch at least...
I’m AJ, but as far as I know I shouldn’t have been expecting anything from LRR. Should I be expecting something now? I’m not yet expecting anything, but I stand ready to expect.
ah, now i understand the heavy lourde reference from homestar runner. i figured it was some weird play on heavy load that i didnt get. my high school french failed me.
Ha, the intro was indeed correct. Amazing.
Ohhh cmon, you're really gonna leave us hanging with the mysterious concerning thumb drive!? This is an outrage!
Both me and my wife love your hair, Beej!
Hooray for Mail Time to brighten my day and hopefully everyone else's as well!
Hooray for you wishing your fellow humans well!!
Well, I'm going to wonder what's on the thumb drive for the rest of my life or at least for the next hour or so.
down to sub-4 months recording to live! Whoo! Catchin Up!
😆Beej is completely covered in glitter from the Christmas card!
sooo... who else cheeeecked at 12:05 ? ^^
Aaaaand they forgot the Attn: Mail Time
Algorithmic punch!
Hooray, Mail Time returns! I bet I know what was on that Thumbdrive! And no I won't say!
Oh no, I've played too much Vampire. Graham, that was a dice pool of 2 rolled with one success. So, untrained average human does a hard-ish thing with moderate success. Or I guess... fails at something truly difficult.
Delightful!
I am doing the ENGAGEMENT THING while I remember, and may add more if I remember to come back down and do the thing.
I'm engaging with your comment further driving the total engagement!
@@Jaytaxman Good! We are engaging with this content and that is a positive influence on people we actively care about, as the ALGORITHM will see this as a positive outcome!
What's on the drive, DENNIS!?
Exalted hype! I know there's no guarantee you'll play it on stream, but I'd personally love that. It's my favourite roleplaying game, and you're some of my favourite creators. It lends itself well to larger than life characters and stories, no I feel like it would be a good fit for the energy you guys often bring to Dice Friends. Also, Onyx Path (the team behind Exalted and Scion) are a smaller publisher so it's good to see them getting some love.
They also publish Chronicles of Darkness, which I think is generally better overall than World of Darkness (if nothing else because of Changeling: The Lost), especially with how poorly Paradox has been handling 5th Edition compared to OPP's 20th anniversary versions of WoD.
I quite enjoyed this Special Christmas Episode of mail time. and those crew drawings were adorable.
I think it would have been pretty funny to fix the letter address behind them in post so that Graham would have looked like a crazy person. Obviously more work than it's worth, but the thought gives me a chuckle.
That Exalted Book (E1) Is the size of my year 1 Calculus book from college. And, kids, phone books were things we used to use to look up phone numbers. That's about the size of the White Pages edition. The Yellow pages were MUCH, MUCH BIGGER. (White pages were residential numbers, and didn't contain ads and such. Yellow Pages were commercial numbers, and had MONDO ADS to get you to arbitrarily pick their phone number when you needed a plumber and/or lawyer at 3 AM.
Psh... That was the size of the White AND Yellow Pages in my area of the world. Good lord, I just realized that I haven't seen a phone book in years... I kinda miss them. Except that they were almost impossible to recycle.
@@TheLacynth I want to say it's been about 10 years since Century Link (Then Qwest) last dropped off one of their sacks of bricks. I think they divested themselves of the "phonebook division" like two or three years before that.
Also, I take it you come from a small market? I live in a major metro area. The white pages were two to three inches thick. The yellow pages were easily at least five. That book looks to be about two to two and a half inches.
we need to know what was on that thumb drive
You'll be glad to know the end card of recommendations has 3 other Mail Times, and 8 episodes of Live and 1 From Rewatch with Love..... I might have a problem.
Ah, Exalted 3rd and Scion 2nd: the phonebooks that I love to read. NEVER thought I'd see such large collections of both of those sent in the same box!
Hey guys, WWE2k22 is out and it isn't complete ass; does this mean the potential return of UFP and the Autumnal Rumble at some point?
Side note, whoever originally came up with the idea is a legend; what a great way to celebrate LRR's creative history, eh :)
Oh hey, I have that same Skyrim map, I didn't even go out of my way for fancy extras or special editions, they just gave that to me... man been a while since I bought anything physically.
I am VERY curious about that drive.
Engagement activated.
Now I want to go back 18 years and get married again so I can invite LRR.
Engagement for the engagement god!
Oooh, I got more TTRPGs to check out!
Sanderson!
Happy Smarch to us everyone!
If you won't tell us what's on the thumb drive, I will devise an elaborate years-long plot to befriend the members of LRR and infiltrate the Moonbase just to learn what's on that thumb drive. The information contained within may not be worth the effort, but that is a sacrifice I am willing to make for the good of the people.
I sure do hope you'll play Scion some day. It's a really nice idea to be the children of the old gods.
woo freshish mailtime
Dammit, I was supposed to be doing work. Mail time I guess! *throws hands up*
It is unbelievable how much I want them to open the thumb drive envelope. It's a thumb drive how bad could it be by itself? Like is it phallic shaped or something?
I gotta wonder what LRR does with all this stuff. There's gotta be a whole extra moonbase's worth of it after all these years.
Fan golem
@@EricChoiniere I feel its closer to the terracotta army at this point.
Well done correcting the intro graphic
But do the unknowable horrors have buttholes?
Edit: Beej “Dunnings Warehouse”
Me (a bit angrier than I’d expect) “BUNNINGS”
Edit 2: BUT WHAT’S ON THE DRIVE!?
I recently found my Bunnings self-retracting blade and am considering sending it to them....
I don't know if "dunning" was deliberate or a genuine mistake but either way it made me laugh
How engaging!
great video
Mail time :D
Who else paused the video at 12:12 to go back and check the intro?
I HAD to go back and verify if the intro was updated.
Yes it was
yes past Beej, the intro did have the correct address as of this recording!
OH BOY! When will you be running Exalted?
Maybe never! That’s always the stance-we make no promises :)
I really want to know what that thumb drives contains even if they just have to tell us just bits and pieces of the info
If you don't explain what was on that thumbdrive on the next episode ..., let's just say that you better explain it! (grumbles angrily something about cliffhangers)
It might be PDFs and they could be related to the other contents of that box, but who can say
Woo
@30:00 sounds like work for Heather, she might have to rebuild your playlists, she's still your vp of youtube right? :p
The intro was half correct.
I want so badly to send a box of pineapple lumps and Tim tams but I don't know if they'll be opened in a timely manner? Should I try express postage from Australia?
You could write CONTAINS FOOD or PERISHABLE in really large letters on the box to make sure it gets opened faster??
I HAVE THOSE DICE! I bought two sets off Amazon so I can play Vampire: the Masquerade with my group. Except that one of the members has a moral issue with how vampires feed, so it's a hard no for her and her husband. My brother's nephew is too young, and my brother and his army buddy are a hard no on the vampire game. Soooo.... Anyone want to start a VtM game?
The lrr discord does have a channel for that
Sounds like your group would be a better fit for Werewolf: The Apocalypse. Warriors for the earth, fighting the evil Wyrm. And there is a Tribe/aspice combo for just about every personality type.
@@DeadnCold Ehh... maybe. I know my brother and his army friend are more min-maxer players and wargamers. So I don't think anything from the World of Darkness would be interesting for them, even as a one off. (They're on a Mutants and Masterminds kick as of late.)
The married couple (my friend from high school and his wife) are both into D&D. The wife only started playing with us a few years ago, and now she's running (when we meet next) the Tomb of Antihalation. I'm sure they'll be interested in other systems, but they're still heavily interested in D&D. There might be a chance for playing the other books in the WoD system, but it's slim with VtM being a hard no. Maybe the upcoming Hunter book, maybe.
And, to be fair, all of this is fine. I'm building a world and making an adventure to play on my birthday in D&D for the group. I also play Mutants and Masterminds when my married friends can't make it. It just means I need to find other tables for some of the other stuff I want to play. And that's okay as well. Right now, that's a bit limited. My daughter is in college, but attending school at a campus that's an hour drive from my house. And as a former 20-something, I can testify that she needs help periodically. But as she learns to fly, she'll rely on me less, and I will have time to make new friends once our "unusual circumstances" resolve themselves.
you could play VtR instead of VtM
@@JOHN_DOE9 With how VtM was explained to her, I don't think she's be willing to play any of the World of Darkness properties. The lone holdout might be the hunters stuff. And if she's not playing it, I can't ask her husband, either. And I suspect the other half of the table would look at all of the World of Darkness products with the same distain they have for the Twilight properties. But that's fine. There are games I can play with that group, and now that my daughter's grown and left the house, maybe it's time I expand my social circle.
You constantly talk about how the segment outdates itself, spend the whole time opening mail that's 6 months to a year old, then wait 4 to 5 months after shooting to air the episode, and wait a month or so after the air date to shoot another segment, and thus the cycle begins anew.
Algorithmic punch!
