- I take to the lanes with the latest release in the Roto-Grip line, the Magic Gem (asymmetrical solid), and show you what this ball of capable of along with my good friend Buddy Mountcastle!
Specifications for my equipment include...
Magic Gem (4 x 4 x 3-3/4)
Original Gem (4 x 4 x 3-3/4) - Спорт
Great video! Zales should be delivering my Magic Gem soon.
Haha! Love it!
Great video. I used to bowl all the time and am just getting back into it. I just got my magic gem and am pumped to throw it! My last ball was a Roto Grip Defiant Soul and was told it’s more aggressive.
They’re much different but the Magic Gem you should love!
Great video guys... it was a real "Gem" lol. Anytime Scott and Buddy are on the same lane is a good time. 👍
Love the pun, thanks a bunch!
H5G represent! 🍻
Yup!
I am sold on the Magic Gem! Drinking the Koolaid
Tastes so good!
I love my magic gem
It’s a great ball!
What bowling ball would be good below the magic gem with a slightly higher RG?
Of the 5 ball which would be the best for 17 mph 400 revs 16 degrees tilt
1. summit Peak
2. Hammer Hazmat
3. Hammer Effect
4. DNA Coil
5. VEBO
@@feastingturkey7118 there is no answer. It depends on what you’re bowling on.
You mentioned that you shot several videos on that lane, so it was a fresh houseshot at that time, and now it’s a pretty bet up shot? Is that what I’m understanding. If you stay under the ball yes it will strike 99 percent of the time. Great video guys and it looks like Magic!
I wouldn’t say beat up. We shot two videos before that but I only threw 5-6 shots with each ball. So maybe one or two games total on it. We used Lane 2 for practice.
My arsenal is a Phaze II and a polished magic gem.
I have struggled with my sublime lately, what would be a good ball to fill that 3 spot I’ve looked at the journey and lightning blackout
Attention Star
Would the journey or VEBO be a better fit for a high tilt balanced bowler in my arsenal to fit above my sublime but below my gem
VeBo due to the assymetry
Scott and Buddy
What surface did you put on the Magic Gem ?
Just purchased one for my wife , I think I may need to shine it up a little , she is slow speed and plays the middle … Thanks
Never hesitate to experiment. She probably will need to smooth it up a bit. Try 4,000 first and if that doesn’t work, don’t be afraid to go rougher with a light polish on top.
Who did the graphics for the title?
My lifelong friend and next door neighbor!
The transition pieces I’ve looked at were the Lightning Blackout, Widow 2.0 Hybrid, Journey and Phaze V for higher tilt and balanced speed/revs what would you suggest
Transition? None of them really tbh
@@ScottAndersonBowlinghow would the journey be for high tilt balanced speed/ revs
@@feastingturkey7118 very good
What would be a good ball to fit below the magic gem on a house shot
There are a ton of options, it depends on your house shot unfortunately. I use different balls on different house shots. There isn’t one answer.
How would the magic gem look with 3000 grit abralon
Just a touch longer and sharper
What would fit well below the Phaze II and above the Hy-Road
Not a lot to be honest. You’d have to start playing with layouts. Exponent Pearl is the only ball that comes to mind right now though.
My Phaze II has a 5 and 3/4 inch pin and my hy road has a 6 inch pin
How would the exotic gem fit below the magic Gem
Similar strength but different shape
This versus the summit for my next ball? All I have is a hustle USA now
I’d go with the Summit. It’s a more versatile option. The Magic Gem is more strictly used for heavier oil conditions.
@@ScottAndersonBowling Thank you! I was struggling with where to go from there.
@@AsronPhotography no problem! Keep me posted!
What is the best ball to fit below this and ahead of the sublime? My rev rate and speed are balanced with a decent amount of tilt
Optimum Idol would be a good choice
Great video! Scott, you throw that ball WELL! Question, what’s the purpose of the red tape at the bottom of your thumb and into the palm?
Great question! I have a callus that is a large bump from squeezing when I was younger. So that tape helps flatten that spot out for the ball to get off my hand cleaner!
@@ScottAndersonBowlingThanks! I may try that myself. The crease of my thumb gets sweaty and tacky, been using hand conditioner to try to get out cleaner.
@@Gbuck426 I have the same issue and I use thumb tape at the base of my thumb and that solved the issue. Prior to doing that I was running into issues where the ball would "stick" on my hand longer and mess up my shot.
@@Gbuck426 can’t hurt to try!
@@jenius_jr I tried it on Tuesday in league. Made a big difference!
2:08 first try!!
That’s what it’s all about!
Shortest backswing in the history of bowling.
Appreciate it!
@scottandersonbowling9183 I have the same short backswing. I love watching you mate.
@@darylgould8923 appreciate it man! Let’s keep it up!
What ball would have the hardest backend hook for my game with high tilt 17 mph speed and 400 revs
