  • On overview of how to fit a plasma lock to your winch drum using synthetic ropes.
    This a general quick overview, to understand the principles of using a plasma lock with a synthetic winch rope.
    The plasma lock uses the rope to lock itself and the rope onto the drum, once the initial load is put into the winch line, the capstan effect on the drum tightens the rope and secures the whole assembly in place.
    No screws, no wedges, minimal space, no lumps in your rope layers.

      Yeh seems to work. I've got one on both my 4x4s . Inc comp car. Important little thing I reckon

      Had mine for a couple of years now, and it works really well. It works in the same way that you use a capstan winch to pull a load, friction. The greater the load, the tighter it grips.

      @@cameronwood1994 yep you've just to to make sure that first wrap is nice and tight. once set and under tension you don't have to worry again. I got them after unspooling a winch cable and was a real pain to get the cable back on.
