    I 100 % agree with everything that you said. I have fine hair so I don't need a lot of products to begin with, just my regular shampoo/conditioner set, I also have a mask and a leave-in just in case. It's important to know your hair type and texture before buying products, all these youtubers trying to sell as much products as possible are scammers.

    I probably use a blow dryer straightener or curler probably 5 times in an entire year. I always let it air dry. Although I do believe crappie shampoo conditioner and wrong brushing has caused alot of breakage. But I really don't like styling my hair so I never use those. I'm afraid to damage it more.

    I got a story to share, i used to go to TOP hair salons in the city where i lived, and one thing they did (until i told them im gonna do it myself instead), is brushing my hair TOP TO BOTTOM with a normal brush, not even a detangler brush, and all that WHILE MY HAIR WAS DRIPPING WET, after BLEACHING. Like what the actual fidge?! Why do some hair dressers do that?! Also, using conditioner before mask…. I started coloring my hair at home and i only go to a salon to cut my hair. Needless to say when they did that forceful brushing, i lost a big amount of hair. Really can’t understand why they did that. And then they got upset when i said I’ll be brushing my hair (with my own detangler 😂) after they wash it 😂

    Hi Mike, is there a such thing as a good shampoo & conditioner that are not bought from a salon? I've been using Herbal Essence Color Me Happy (for my colored hair) for years. I find it does a decent job but as I'm getting older (46 yrs old), I'm noticing my hair is looking dryer. What would you recommend as a good shampoo & conditioner for colored, dry damaged hair that doesn't cost a fortune. Thanks Mike!

      Personally have not found any drugstore hair products that work as well as high end products. You should definitely invest in better shampoo, conditioner and stylers especially if you feel like the stuff you’re using is drying your hair. Pureology, Redken, Matrix, It’s a 10 are good brands. They are highly concentrated so they last long and you only need a small amount. Shop when there’s coupons, sales and value sets available.

    For heat protection while using a flat iron, when I spray it on it dampens the hair. But I heard that you should not use a flat iron on damp hair??? Do you have to wait until the heat protectant dries then use the straightener? Or did I misunderstand that you're not suppose to use the iron on damp hair?

    • @MikeDeCanter
      @MikeDeCanter  3 роки тому +1

      depends on the product . Most heat protectors are applied after shampooing and you blow dry it in :)

    • @emamilascon
      @emamilascon 3 роки тому +1

      i use the blow dryer for few seconds right before using the straightener

    • @Aphrodite01
      @Aphrodite01 2 роки тому

      If you apply heat protectant to dry hair you should let it dry first before using a flat iron. You can use a blow dryer then go in with the flat iron. Never use a flat iron/curler on wet/damp hair.

    I thought I’d buy a more expensive shampoo so I bought Redkin extreme, 1st wash I lost a lot of hair, I didn’t put it down to the shampoo, 2nd was more hair loss, I went back to my normal shampoo Tresseme and no hair loss, I’m scared to use it now, waste of my money

      Make sure you use a clarifying shampoo before you switch to those salon brand shampoos. If you want to really give REDKEN a try, I’d first use a detox shampoo to get that drug store product build up gone so the REDKEN formula can really do it’s magic!

    • @Aphrodite01
      @Aphrodite01 2 роки тому +1

      Always clarifying first & shampoo twice. Redken has different lines and maybe the extreme is not right for your hair type and needs. Always assess your hair then look at the ingredients and product claims in the description before purchasing. Stores like Ulta and Sephora have a good return policy so if it doesn’t work you can return it.

    Do u think it is a good idea to use conditioner (without silicones or "bad silicones") from the roots? I have dry scalp by nature and i do it 3 times a week, but there are people who don't dare! It would be good if u talk to us about that one day. And also about 2 in 1 shampoo and things like that (i think it's not the best idea, i don't know) 🤔 😘

    • @MikeDeCanter
      @MikeDeCanter  3 роки тому +2

      There are special conditioners that you apply on the scalp. 2 in 1 shampoos are meh.
