Cool deal!!! when I was tryin to decide between the gt10 and pod I watched these videos and they didn't make much sense, now that I own the gt10 and have had a few months to tweek around with it these videos make tons of more sense to me. Thanx for the time you take to make these videos, they help a lot
We have a winner!! Thank you... really, really helpful. I've even managed to program a simultaneous 'reverse swell' on the expression pedal to counter the increase in volume as the gain increases.
AT LAST.....now i will go ahead and buy this thing. I like music like Angels and Airwaves and U2 and wanted to make sure that smooth transition between delay and no delay and general smooth control of other effects was possible. i messed around with the one at my local store and just couldnt figure out how to do it. i was about to buy the VG-99. You just saved me alot of money mate. THANK YOU.
Thanks for all the tips and info, Glenn. I just swapped my old GNX4 in for a GT-10, and I absolutely LOVE it. Sooo, much more capable piece of equipment. I have the GT-10 with the FS-6 dual footswitch for CTRL 3 and 4, with a TC Electronics Nova Delay running through the effects loop of the unit. I took your suggestion and use the expression pedal for gain control and other things, and have a seperate volume pedal on the board. Lovin' it!!
You are totally the best tutorial-guy on UA-cam, and an amazing guitar player to. Keep up the good work. I have a GT-10. Bought it because I saw your videos, and I am still learning. Can't wait to check out your next tip. Thanks :-)
thanks Glenn your help is much appreciated and keep up the good work, because people like you are hard to come by who give up there time to help others improve at a much faster rate than was ever thought possible. Cheers,, Neil
Thanks for the quick reply Glenn - my GT10 should be coming in the post today :) Keep up the good work and thanks for the hard work you do to educate us all.
@extremevideopro You totally rock Glenn. I'm learning a few pointers here and there from the knowledge and experience you share. Not only that buy you are a very good singer and guitarist. Thanks a bunch and keep rockin!!! Joe...
wow man ive been watchin ur vids for a while now and i never knew that you played praise and worship. i am also the lead guitarist for a praise and worship team in northern Arkansas. Rock On!! lolz...
I'm in a cover band and I've written a patch for each song...this will help a lot! BTW, Traynor owes you a commission, I bought a K4 yesterday. Thanks for the recommendationS and advice! YOU DA MAN!!!
@extremevideopro Oh, I just figured it out. Thanks. I had my setting in the Preamp channel set to "dynamics" which is why it's switching between A and B. Thanks. Rock on!!
Man! I just spent 3 hours trying to figure this out!!! Not 3 minutes in and you just had to say 1 word that made a light in my head go on so I hit pause and VOALAA! I almost just guessed just because of 1 word and visual moment in the clip! Thanks, were was this 3 hours ago?
Well yes & no. You CAN save effects and recall them easily and apply them to other patches. For example, you can set a chorus sound like you want it and you can save that setting. Then when you switch to another preset and you want a chorus you can turn on the chorus and using the "User Settings" you can apply your saved version of that chorus. You can do this with all of the effects and even the amps in the GT-100.
@rr8195 You can do that 2 ways. One is by using the EQ to notch out that very high end. two is the use the Global EQ settings in the System "Input" section. You have many EQ settings there.
@VegasGuitarPlayer Yes I think you can. Just go into the assigns and find the preamp gain control and assign a minimum and maximum amount to the pedal. It should work.
Yes there is a way to get that sound. I have a patch in my bundle called Ice Crystals that uses the dual delay, hall reverb and chorus effect. It's a pretty cool sounding patch.
Yes if you use the amp models they are "fizzy". That's why I don't use them. I use either real distortion pedals OR I only use the Overdrive stomps in the GT-10 and POD HD500, depending on what rig I am using that night. I have four complete different rigs. The best & biggest is 2 Marshall heads and 2 4x12cabs. The smallest is just the POD HD400 right into the PA direct.
Yeah, I do this do for some of my patches, typically my standard dirty rhythm tone patches. Give it enough gain all the way up to play some lead, and clean enough all the way back to give you a cleanish strummable tone under vocals. hugely important for controlling volume, much more convenient than adjusting the guitar volume all the time.
@extremevideopro Thanks man! I got the ME-70 and I am very pleased!!! my only gripe about the pedal is that switching between sounds and patches will take some getting used to, but boss makes a great pedal!
@musikeroz73 You have to press the Master FX button to turn on an assign. Also when using CTL1 for an assign other than chorus(which is the default) you must first go into the pedal assign mode and turn CTL1 to off.
wow!!! Thanks for showing this segment. I was wondering how it's done... No one seems to talk about it. Thanks a lot. By the way, great tune you were doing towards the end of this video. Was that an orginal? It sounds really good.
Glen you are amazing dude... very helpful!!! If you could do a full tutorial on how to master the use of gt-10 it would be great man!!! keep rocking ;)
Thank You for the Tutorial. it really helped me with my GT-10. But how can I increase the volume of my clean? The overall sound of clean is so small and theres a big difference when i switch from clean to od on the pedal
@extremevideopro so what you have dont use batteries??? by the way you did a great job showing your setup in the gt-10 and thanks again for sharing your patches, i have one question... how did you recorded it???
@Saved4Life1550 Press the write button and save it to presets starting at U-01. You can't save to the P-01 settings because that is the factory presets.
glad to c you're still tweaking. I sold my gt10, now I'm back to buying single pedals, it's just a big never ending circle ? do u still have that pinnacle ii, I think I'm going to get one next week :)
@glinder5150 Yes, try the Tone Modify effect on either FX1 or FX2. This is an effect that no one talks about but I use it on every single patch. It really adds life to the sound.
@rr8195 By using the EQ settings as I described to you. And also you can try the Resonator effect in wither FX1 or FX2. This also is sort of an overall EQ
@extremevideopro Both... I run direct playing with the praise and worship team at my church, but I also play with a Christian contemporary band out of Oklahoma City, and I run through either a rackmount power amp and 4x12 enclosure, or my Randall combo, depending on the venue we're playing. The fexibility of this unit is perfect for me.
Have you ever tried creating a "hyperspace" Tom Scholz sound with the GT-10? If so could you post a video on how to create a patch? The GT-10 is programmable to adjust the delay settings with this pedal!
@extremevideopro Hmm this is why I was surprised you stopped using the extra O/D pedals with this. Maybe I just haven't fiddled with it enough. I got this close to when it came out and just now feel like I've gotten it to it's full potential, but I guess there's always more it seems. I've often thought of using this for live situations and grabbing an Axe-Fx for studio use. You seem to own every multi-effect known to man. Waiting on some Axe-FX videos from ya! :D
Hey there. Really cool video. I got one totally different question. Which case do you use and how have you fixed the GT10 into it? Greetings from Germany.
The grass 10 does a nice job of loosely emulating guitarists sounds eg. erupting however can more solid presets be dialed in? Perhaps an online community that shows the exact settings Eddie used and how to program them I.
Hi Glenn, Is there a way to set two different delay settings in one patch? Also, I have a problem when I engage the wah, the volume is at max. How can I resolve this situation. Thanks for being my best resource for GT10 issues!!!
Man that's good stuff so you played right into that amp on a clean channel then used the od in the gt10? have you ever had the problem I have with these cosm multi fx where you get what I would call digital fizz usually as you are muting the strings especially on high gain stuff and have you found a way to fix that?
Hey Glenn your videos are of such a great help. i am new to Boss GT 10. i have a FV 500H pedal which i want to use as volume pedal over all and the on board pedal as an expression pedal. currently i am connecting the guitar Jack output to the FV 500H input and the FV500H output to the GT 10 ( Is that the right way of doing it?) or what are the settings for me to do so. BTW I have been successful in using the expression pedal to increase overdrive. Best wishes to you always and thanks for the videos they enlighten people like me. Bless ya - Glenn Pacheco.
sorry to go off topic ... i followed you and learned a LOT on the GT 10 stuff... you abandoned in favour now ? im using the GT10 on the guitar out on my GR-55 ..
Hello Glenn, great video!!!!!!!!! I have a Marshall Jcm 2000 tsl 100 . I have the Boss gt-10 and I would like to know about the 4 method cable. I do not think it is anything I can do, but maybe you can help me. I do not think that my marshall has a MIDI.Another question that I have is the FX LOOP, is this FX LOOP serial or Parallel? I think that I have both (Serial and Parallel), but I prefer i you can tell me which one I have and what position do I have to put. Let me know and thank you. Inaki
If you hook your GT-10 up to your computer using the USB then yes you can. Using the USB connection your GT-10 becomes your sound card so all audio from your computer goes to the GT-10 so you can use Media player or whatever you use to listen to music on your computer and it will come through the GT-10 and you can play along with it that way. That's the only way AFAIK
Hi Glenn, thanks for the videos - you have a great deal of knowledge on these multi fx things! One rather boring question I have for you: I want to build a pedal board that uses my boss gt 10 a wireless system and a few other pedals. What pedal boards work best and how easy is it to secure the gt10 to a board? Thanks!
Hey Glenn, nice demo, very usefull stuff, applied it to my own patches as well. I am wondering if it is possible to change from a pure clean with no effects to drive channel just like you did it with this distortion? As to say: I don't want to have the OD/DS effect on in the first place but do want to gradually change the drive with the expression pedal. Hope you answer the question (if there's a solution).
In your personal opinion Glenn, which sounds better the Boss GT-10 or Line 6 POD HD500?! You've demoed both and I can't make a decision between the two, so I need your take as to which one you would recommend! Thanks kind sir!!
Great tips! But I have a question. I used this to adjust OD/gain if you will which functionally works but I lost all volume. Where do I go to get volume back?
Is there a way to set it up on the GT-10 to have Channel A do exactly what you've shown here with the gain control assigned to the EXP Pedal 1, but when you switch to Channel B, you can have EXP Pedal come on with a Wah assigned to it instead of the gain control?
Hi Glenn. Your videos are very informative and they help me a lot in getting to know this piece of gear. However I have a question: I created a patch that I call Fender Twin pedal gain. In this patch I use the Fender Twin Preamp in combination with a Natural OD. And I assign the expression pedal to control the amount of Drive on the OD. But when I do that, I lose the ability to use the expression pedal to control patch volume when I turn off OD. So I would like to set it up so that I can control the OD drive with the expression pedal when OD is engaged and use the expression pedal as patch volume control when OD is turned off. I hope you understand what I'm trying to achieve and that you can help me out. Thanks in advance !
Thanks for your answer ! But the rocktron velocity 300 is a guitar power amp and i think i can't put it in the fx loop !! no ? Perhaps i have do a bad calibration of my input guitar in the gt-10 ? or another think, so i test a lot of solution but never find the good ! sniff
Would I be correct in assuming that if a guy wanted to still have volume control on the floor instead of having to use the volume knobs on the guitar, he could just add a stand alone volume pedal into the chain?
Another question, I was trying out the looper then I thought of recording it via USB like my other recordings, then I listened to what I've record. when I play over my loops, the only thing that is recorded is the one I'm actually playing, the loops are not recorded. Is there a way I can record my loops aside from manually copying and pasting my loops on a track?
I must say braddah, your demos were the deciding factor for buying my GT-10 and my JC-120. They are a match made in heaven. Thanks for the vids.
Cool deal!!! when I was tryin to decide between the gt10 and pod I watched these videos and they didn't make much sense, now that I own the gt10 and have had a few months to tweek around with it these videos make tons of more sense to me. Thanks Glenn. It was time for all of us in the other side to see you make new things with the gt10. I am a fan of yours.
We have a winner!! Thank you... really, really helpful. I've even managed to program a simultaneous 'reverse swell' on the expression pedal to counter the increase in volume as the gain increases.
Great vid. Don't think I ever would have figured that one out. Please keep the GT-10 tips & trick coming. Thank alot.

Thanks for the quick reply Glenn - my GT10 should be coming in the post today :)
Keep up the good work and thanks for the hard work you do to educate us all.
Nice demonstration man, you are really good to show how its done. Great job on the trick :D
@extremevideopro You totally rock Glenn. I'm learning a few pointers here and there from the knowledge and experience you share. Not only that buy you are a very good singer and guitarist. Thanks a bunch and keep rockin!!! Joe...

@extremevideopro thanks for the quick response (time zone difference helps that ;) will get searching now!
You are very talented and professional...really....
great and very usefull explanation Glenn !
grtz from Belgium
dude it sounded amazing on the recording!
great stuff, Glenn - BOSS should hire you(if they already haven't).

Glenn DeLaune lesson pleeeese. Im A quick study, turn on the cam and start the buttons pressing:)

wow!!! Thanks for showing this segment. I was wondering how it's done... No one seems to talk about it. Thanks a lot. By the way, great tune you were doing towards the end of this video. Was that an orginal? It sounds really good.
You could go either way but I would first try going straight into the front input of the Marshall. What model Marshall are you getting??
Another great video clean! Great work.
Question? Is there a tremendous volume increase using this method? Also
Those MG's are pretty good. I think they sound good all on their own. I would put the GT-10 in the FX loop of the amp.
Yes, you could try putting the Nova drive in the FX loop of the Gt-8
Fantastic tutorial, well done! Great playing style as well!
Love this stuff. Thanks Glenn!
Glen you are amazing dude... very helpful!!! If you could do a full tutorial on how to master the use of gt-10 it would be great man!!! keep rocking ;)
@extremevideopro, Damn, didn't think so lol! Thanks for the reply!
Thanks so much Steve.
Thank You for the Tutorial. it really helped me with my GT-10. But how can I increase the volume of my clean? The overall sound of clean is so small and theres a big difference when i switch from clean to od on the pedal
I love the tutorials ... Could you doa tutorial dialing in the Blackmore tone (ish ..) using the BOSS GT 10 ..;-) ?
@extremevideopro so what you have dont use batteries??? by the way you did a great job showing your setup in the gt-10 and thanks again for sharing your patches, i have one question... how did you recorded it???
@Saved4Life1550 Press the write button and save it to presets starting at U-01. You can't save to the P-01 settings because that is the factory presets.
OK great, I'm glad it helped out. Now go practice, practice, practice!!!
i got the gt 10b but your tutorial is helpful! thank you :)

Did you try the different output modes? Try scrolling through them until you find one that sounds good and tweak your patches if necessary.

Nice thanks ..sounds very nice
@extremevideopro thank you glenn for everything, Gbu
Killer trick man! Thanks.
I wish I had the answer. It should work if you go MIDI out of the GT into the MIDI in of the Nova.
Hey there. Really cool video. I got one totally different question. Which case do you use and how have you fixed the GT10 into it?

Nice this is awesome Glenn! Just one question though do you know if this is possible with the POD X3 Live?
Hi Glenn, Is there a way to set two different delay settings in one patch? Also, I have a problem when I engage the wah, the volume is at max. How can I resolve this situation.

Hi Glenn, that should work fine. Thank you very much.
sorry to go off topic ... i followed you and learned a LOT on the GT 10 stuff... you abandoned in favour now ?
im using the GT10 on the guitar out on my GR-55 ..
The GT-10 does not allow you to save your manual mode setting on a per patch basis. The GT-100 however DOES allow this function.
Hello Glenn, great video!!!!!!!!! I have a Marshall Jcm 2000 tsl 100 . I have the Boss gt-10 and I would like to know about the 4 method cable. Do you have a Line 6 POD X3 Live?? can you make some video explanation for it? Thanks for all your Lessons!
Are you using the direct volume on the drive settings, because I usually dont, but with drive on zero there is no sound?
cool trick Glenn! wish i had one of those! :p
Nice ! You lighting me
Ahh,just the other day i was thinking of a way on how to do this and BANG!!!.you saved me again.THANKS FOR ALL YOU'RE HELP. later bro!!!
Hmmm, that's good question Tay, I'm not sure but I can check.
Now does that link that function for expression pedal with everything, or just the one setting?
Good stuff.
Thanks!
Hi, how can I program the expression pedal 2 (EXTERNAL)PLEASE help me on this ,I will Appreciate, thanks.
You should try going into the FX loop of your amp instead of going in the front input.
Nice tutorial! I remember asking you this question :-)
Hey Glenn,
nice demo, very usefull stuff, applied it to my own patches as well.
I am wondering if it is possible to change from a pure clean with no effects to drive channel just like you did it with this distortion? As to say: I don't want to have the OD/DS effect on in the first place but do want to gradually change the drive with the expression pedal.
Hope you answer the question (if there's a solution).
Yes there is a way. Just assign an overdrive to the expression pedal. Make sure the pedal is set to Momentary and not Toggle
In your personal opinion Glenn, which sounds better the Boss GT-10 or Line 6 POD HD500?! You've demoed both and I can't make a decision between the two, so I need your take as to which one you would recommend! Thanks kind sir!!
Hi I have a question. Can I change the preamp button and I hane 3 fx effects etc defleter, tone modify, octave. Thanks
Great tips! But I have a question. I used this to adjust OD/gain if you will which functionally works but I lost all volume. Where do I go to get volume back?

Hi Glenn. Your videos are very informative and they help me a lot in getting to know this piece of gear. However I have a question:
I created a patch that I call Fender Twin pedal gain.
Thank you. I use Dunlop Clear D Large
Yes i think so, that would be in the pedal bend settings.
Alright. Thanks man!
