Hi! I got one of these myself a few months back and remember having the same issue your boyfriend had with the space being delayed. The reason why that happens is because the space key is actually a function key when holding it down, so it doesn't know if it should input a space until you release the key- you can fix this by changing the keymap in qmk. Love the video!!❤
oh my god this keyboard is soo pretty!! I have been looking for a nice 40% keyboard for a long time, so thank you for showing this to us :D. The packaging is also cute omg- i wish all keyboards would come like that. If I had the budget, I would definitely purchase this keyboard, its sounds so nice and satisfying and looks amazing. Anyways, i'm glad to see you back and uploading again! missed ur videos and spent the last few weeks watching your other ones lmao. hope you are feeling better and i hope you have a nice autumn! stay safe
idk why but its so calming when i listen to ur videos. I'm currently sick and everytime I lay down, I start coughing but ur videos are just so soothing for my ears. Calms me down every time :DD
Been using this little one for work for about a year now and absolutely adore it. :) Love the purple, but built mine with white blanks as I'm not into the flowery pink keycaps. I used Oil Kings and it's super thoccy! The only thing that bothers me is that I can't seem to find a nice artisan escape key as everything I'd even vaguely consider comes for R1. :(
i have this board in a white colour. really nice and easy to program in vial. has arrow keys and a blocker, which is a plus. only 2 downsides are the integrated plate and the front profile, i dont like the rounded edge and the sharp corner at the top together. but otherwise its a really great 40%, and pretty cheap too
yes, the arrow keys and blocker is not that common on 40% i think, that's something i like as well! i haven't modded the keyboard yet, what's the downside with the plate? yes, the price seem pretty fair!
omg so pretty 😍 i haven’t been super into smaller layout keebs but this really changed my mind haha. that hydrangea set is soooo pretty! and the gateron black v2 inks are great, i have those switches and they’re my fave. i wonder what it will sound like if you lube the gateron yellows?
That's a pretty cool board. I've held off on trying a 40% but I might try one at some point. As for the price difference between the id67 and id42, I don't expect the small difference to be due to difficulties in engineering. I expect is has more to do with the fact that the 40% market is smaller, and they expect to sell less id42 boards. Yet they still had to invest a similar amount of money to the id67 in tooling up, and that investment needs to be recovered quicker (less boards sold), which means the id42 will be relatively more expensive, but since the BoM of the id42 is so much less (less switches/caps/stabs/sockets/etc) the id42 still ends up just a hair cheaper than the id67. Just not as much cheaper as you'd hope just based on size 😉 Anyway, enough economics BS. Curious to see what mods you're going to do to the board.
i see, you're right! considering that, the price seems pretty fair then! as for mods, i think the keyboard sound great stock already (with decent switches and keycaps), don't think that i'll mod it that much tbh
Interesting keyboard, I finished my own build a few days ago. Its a tofu65 ewhite with gateron oil kings and the pbt milk cover cap set ( inspired by u c; ). also I got durock v2, hand lubed switches and stabs with 205g0, holee modded, tape on the back of the pcb, bunch of case foam. I really love how it turned out. Also, I put on the spacebar the wrong way and it sounds way better like that. PS: i thought this might make u happy so im telling u that your channel is the only one i have notifications turned on on ;D
i am still eyeing on the tofu65 acrylic, i love the design as it looks very clean and simple! unfortunately kbdfans does not offer a compatible hot swap pcb with underglow, which is the reason why i haven't gotten one yet :c i love that i can be an inspiration for others! always makes me very happy! thank you so much having the notification turned on! i feel honored! 💜
Just wondering: who is the user of 40% layout keyboards? As far as I can see, there's no punctuation keys here, so you can't really properly type on it. Not mentioning gaming which often utilizes number keys and even the F row.
40% is definitely a niche layout. some ppl claim that they are very productive on them, ofc there're not many physical keys, but you can configure your own bingings and layers.
