Pakistan must accept the current India cannot be made to come to a table for discussion which have even a single gain for Pakistan, there is nothing to lose for India as he correctly understood. And as long as China plays the monkey in the barter, there is nothing Pakistan can offer which India may gain from. It is better to maintain non-dialogue peace, have/build something to offer and then hope for resumption of trade and talks.

A friendlier pakistan can also help us connect to Iran and west asia via land.
They dream of such radical things because that is all they have seen, poverty and corrupt leadership does that to everyone. A nuclear armed failed and impoverished islamic state is just too much to be left unchecked. Besides if you see, only if they have something to lose, will they mend their ways, we can give them trade and stability to secure our own neighborhood in return. I know a developed Pakistan is no better than a failed Pakistan for India, but at least a nuclear war is less likely in the former case.

Mr. Bhutto is absolutely ill-equipped to deal with India. He doesn't understand the mood on the ground there. India simply doesn't need Pakistan. Indians don't even worry about Pakistan any more. Instead, Mr. Bhutto should focus on being like Canada and how it's success is driven by being America's neighbor. That's all he has to do: serve products & services to the 2 largest countries (in both size and economic strength) which are at his borders. As he said, "where there is a will, there is a way". By distancing Pakistan, India has been benefitted very much. India has been able to secure its borders with Paxtan and has been able to curb violence in India. If Mr. Bhutto thinks there is hyper nationalism in India then he can not ignore the fact that Paxtan is suffering from hyper religious fanaticism. Radicalisation of Paxtani society is the real issue which is affecting Paxtan in every field. They have no solution to this and as a result this stand off between the two nations is going to remain for a long long time.
