Hi guys,
I've been extremely busy with different projects, gigs and private life and as a result I was not able to make new video's in the last two weeks. I'm back in the lab right now and the new video's are dropping asap!
Thanks for the support and patience.
TLM
djTLMtv Thanks man! You are a great Dj an also a great guy!
Greetings from Brazil!

djTLMtv , What Program are you using for your turntables ?
whats the name of the mid tempo beat playing at 12:08??
SUCH AN AMAZING TUTORIAL , I've just been practicing starting yesterday from tutorial 1 but already see a huge improvement , gonna keep practicing and gonna be as good as you one day !!!
HOW A U DOING RIGHT NOW AFTER 5YEARS
This guy is an amazing instructor!
I agree. Probably the best on UA-cam.
For real the best on UA-cam to me have been a DJ for over 20 years my patient his blinding and mixing, when I first moved to the USA I used to listen to DJ Clu ,after my research on UA-cam when I found TLM I have been watching him ever since.
Facts. That’s also why he’s been and still is my tour DJ for the last decades
Stop the cap. I’ve seen better teachers than this guy.
Thanks so much for the information u have taught me a lot about scratching and if I do become a professional DJ it will be because of u thanks :)
Chris Shell I hope you make it to be a pro DJ. If you have any questions feel free to ask
U can’t be a professional dj by scratching🤦🏻♂️
Bruh i been djing bedroom for years and recently have been gigging broke outta that into the clubs, i always wanted to learn to scratch...i watched these videos for 3 days and im already grasping this, the way you explain by far the best from all the other vids...Im currently now relocated to Belgium, might catch yo out here one day....keep spreading the knowledge #knowledge
Hi guys,
Due to health issues I couldn't finish video's I was working on (NS7-2 review) and I can't record new video's either. I lost my voice over the weekend and that makes it a bit difficult to record stuff ;)
I should be fine in a couple of days so stay tuned!
For the DJ's who would like to be part of the Saturday Super Session: Join the Saturday Super Session and send me your own video!
Thanks for sharing the knowledge TLM!!!! 👏 Respect large 🤜
Dj TLM, I was watching lots of your videos, and I have to post here my testimony.
I`m from Brazil and your videos really helped me a lot to improve my sets and my scratching skills. thank you so much for being such a good and talented professional / teacher. keep going! success!
👍👍👍👍👍DJ TLM you aré really awsome thanks for the vids!!!!.....💿💿💿
Sorry to be so off topic but does anyone know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account??
I stupidly lost the login password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me!
@Maximilian Cassius Instablaster :)
Thank you for sharing the knowledge! Your efforts and generosity are appreciated!
Hi DJ TLM, I gain so much knowledge seeing your videos. Thanks for being so clear in your explanation. Appreciate it! It very inspiring :)
Hey man I been DJin for years and just been simply mixing and doing a baby scratch thank you so much. I am using a new old numark mixdeck quad and now seeing the importance of the jog wheel and the feel. But anyway I learned some new things I can do with my mixer. Thank you so much this videos are awesome. #cjthedj216
That’s great! 👍🏽
Nice to see a real turntablist. I remember hearing them do it I was like “What was that!” Now there using it in country songs 🙄 I liked the video and subscribed
You have really helped me ever since i saw your tutorial it has been so helpful thanks 🎉🎉🎉🎉😊
Helping me out A whole lot!Just want to say thanks for making these. Wish I would have had this 20 years ago, but felt like playing around again and your videos Making me scratch and mix like I never thought I could. So Thanks! Big UPS on DJ Jazzy Jeff he’s one of my all time favorites and cool you talked about him.
Hey get well man! .. I just started learning how to scratch, there are millions of tuts on youtube, and all I can say is that yours is probably by far, the most direct, clear, and no BS tutorial that I came across with.. Love how you keep things simple and precise, and that makes it easier for us beginners to learn fast.. You might not know it yet, but, after each vid, it makes us get hyped and all to hit that platter and fader!.. lol.. great job.. been repeating your vids from pt1.. trying to get that feel for the baby scratch, drops, tears, and fader movements before we get to pt6.. Thanks again for sharing the knowledge!!!.. peace!..
You give excellent lessons. I learned to cut in the 80's through trial and error, but there wasn't much to learn at the time. When a new trick would be developed at DMC, I would practice it all year
Dude you are REALLY good!!! I will learn how to do this and I will practice practice practice. THANK YOU!!!
That’s great to hear!👍🏾👍🏾
thanks for this tutorial i now know how to scratch but i'm still knew to scratching.. i''ve been dj'ing for years but i don't know how to scratch... not until i've seen this one.. thanks djTLM
Great!
One of the best Tutorial Series !! keep going ;]
Couldn't agree more. Extremely thorough, yet simple to grasp, and focused on the truly important elements.
The man is a pro! :)
Damn you make it look easy. I can’t get that chipmunk sound ever.
Just continue to practice 👍🏽
These videos have helped me so much! I'm an electronic house dj, but thanks to these videos I'm starting to really like the whole scratching technique, thank you so much man, keep them coming! :D
Great video once again bro!!! I really appreciate all the help!!! Keep spinnin!!!
What sounds do you like scratching ..like I love the iTS TIME intro or the Ahhh sound
Thanks a lot man for the videos. I am gonna learn this and hopefully after pandemic is over, will put this into practice.
Thank you dj tlm. Youare the best!
Am about to become a star. Thanks for the tutorials bro🙏
You're videos are great sir.... I have been throwing down for 10 years and no matter how many lessons I've looked up - this was the first one that actually took form me. I'm "hyped up" like you were the first time
- Cheers!
Brandon Hines Thanks, that's good to hear!
Bruh!!..your video got me hyped so I tried transformer on my controller and it sounds like optimus prime takin’ a shit hahahaha.. 😂
🤣🤣🤣
Is scratching still cool? I'm still rocking an 06Pro with vestax tables. I literally know no one who does this anymore. I do the transformer right hand on fader but other scratches with my left. Like if I get "deep into" a scratch with alot of center fader I do that right hand on vinyl.
Man, I'm late to the party on these tutorials. I've been mixing for a long time but never been able to scratch properly, so I just decided to try learning. I still suck, but with your help I'm sucking a little bit less, day by day. Thank you, man!
DJ TLM TV eres buen profesor gracias por las técnicas.
Public Enemy's Terminator X to the Edge of Panic has great transforming and intro by Queen
💯💯💯
Nice scratch to practice! But, I noticed that I can't do this with my right (dominant) hand on the platter so I deceided to re-learn the first 4 tutorials with my left hand on the platter. Also the transformer-scratch produces a lower volume than the baby-scratch. I have all the crossfader-settings set-up the right way and have a sharp cut (DDJ-SB3).
What song is that you scratching with, it's hot.
Amazing just set my decks up again after 2 decades and never figured out that scratch practice practice thanks for this amazing tutorial!
Absolutely dope. Love it
Very nice tutorial! Your explanation about xfader movement is superfantastic. Its very technical though and out of sync for me (maybe my inet connection). You could show more examples in your future videos about the technique (what are you trying to teach). Its a hand eye coordination thing, not talk. Sorry for being me, I really liked watching your tutorial. I subscribed, hopefully you get money 👍
Thanks for the feedback!
I think it's important to have a combination of both (examples and talk). I like to place things in context because a lot of the techniques are related and I hope I can give people a better understanding of that.
And you're right: it is all about the coordination, but that is something people have to practice. More examples will not improve the viewers coordination.
If remember correctly, I show a ton of examples in this video so maybe you would like longer examples, not more.
Which part was out of sync? I can find it
WOW ,,My Tf Scratch Sounding Better Already,,,Thanx,,,lol Wait,n On The CRAB,,,,,,
I’m definitely subscribing!!!
DJ TLM how can I download the beats and the sounds in your videos?
Go to my soundcloud page (djtlm) and check my playlists 👍🏾
Great info once again. I appreciate you doing these videos!
Seems like the same 2 idiots keep disliking your videos.... lol... Nice job keep them coming..
Can anyone explain the 120 arrow which looks like its underneath his slipmat, it seems to be changing position as he's scratching but I can't figured out what its for?
That is the slipmat
@@djTLMtv are you using dvs time code vinyls?
Hey DJ TLM. My biggest issue is SCRATCHING on beat. Don't know how to make it sound good with the beat. Always sounds off or not the right pace. Let me know or mauybe you can make a video on that:) thx!
Im all like into Pantera, Deftones, Alice in Chains and stuff, but I watching your tutorials in a row! Very interesting. Brings me back when I was kid and listening to Beastie Boys and early Linkin Park. Thanks!
Dope!
Dude, you are the man. “Share the knowledge!” Words of great people.
it always feels good to review your videos:)
:)
DJTLM IM LOST WHEN IM ON YOUR PAGE I DONT KNOW WHERE I CAN GET THE SOUNDS U USED IN THIS VIDEO
Check out my soundcloud page (djtlm)
Good stuff Boss! I appreciate what your doing!
Hi I watch a lot of your videos can I do this Transformer scratch on my Numark ns7 III or do I need to buy a innofader pro or something because I'm beginning and I want to try this when I get home
It looks so easy when your pulls are so crisp.. my pulls often end up in the middle of the sound and ends up sounding like a dial-up modem. Guess I need more PRACTICE!
+Evan Lu yeah man, keep it up! 👍🏽
Hahah I'm so glad I was blessed with ambidexterity
HELLO dj, I'm from the old school who used tchenics dishes 1200. listened to the productions of breakdance and the sound of rhythmic scracht, it was like a few sparks, very nice, it's been so long and never succeeds in making a sound like that, me as Scratch baby. Hahaha, keep practicing, I'm dj for live.
Thank you for this video and for "Sharing the Knowledge!"
Wats up buddy a question? Can you give any advice on where and how to get or down load free dj music etc. vinyl ! beacause I don't really have any records only a few and i don't really want to start buying real vinyl wen
my set up is serato ready
I just need to get the
serato control records and Labtop
my set up is just
reloop RP 8000s mk2
a numark serato scratch mixer and both turntables & mixer is or comes with serato dj pro already I only have to get a cheap laptop that will run the serato DJ pro software and not lagg
so if you can or have any advice and some links websites that I can get free music from for DJing
I have different styles
battling and tricks and other mixing blending music for club styles and other styles but if you can thanks and
I appreciate it 🤙
Not sure if that's just my computer but I can't open the link for the scratching sounds :/ Is there anyone else having trouble with that?
By the way this scratching series is great! I really wasn't into scratching before because I thought it's more for HipHop style and so on. I mainly play house and electronic music... But now I really really want to learn that! :) Thank you very much and greetings from Germany ;)
Yo I really getting into the DJing. I could remember as a kid I used to attend block party jamming out to DJ Uncle Al (Miami, FL). Now that Im a lot older with a career. I'm bringing it back to my house whole. Thanks for the tips and yes I will bridge the gap with Old school to New school.
Tbh , I find my controller sound a lot different than vinyl
Again, I appreciate your videos/tutorials. Just curious... are you familiar or are you going to do any videos using or showing the functions of virtual DJ? I just got a NS6 which came with Serato, but I started with Virtual and it's much easier to me. I can't even figure out how to make the BPMs show up on Serato. I guess I would like to see a tutorial on how to use Serato too so I can become familiar with that as well.
Sam Briggs
are you gonna use the bikini wax wax record please. I would love to see that
thanks your a beast for this helped me out so much
👍🏾👍🏾
Al fin empieza lo bueno.
You are very thorough sir, thank you. Breaking it down is super important. Some tutorials are just the fella scratching and hardly talking about it so thank you again for a very clear series.
Thanks man, I’m glad you got some value out of it 👍🏽👍🏽
How is there 0 latency when removing your hand from the platter and having the sound playing again?
I’ve never heard using the crossfader explained that way. Using the analogy as your thing being on a rubber band is a game changer for me. Good lookin ✊🏾
Great Tutorail. Thank You TLM! 👍
Very Good!!! Congratulations ! Dj TLM.
very good tutorials bro ,, a lot for begin , thank you very much ..
whats the beat @ 12:08? i know its something from dilla just cant find out the name😭
Well, I can tell you it’s not a Dilla beat.
I can also tell you the beat is called “Baby Be Mine (Saturday Sessions 1 Beat)” and you can download it for free from my Soundcloud page (djtlm)
DJ TLM TV sounds great thank youu💯
great tutorial un saludo its dj albert from medellin colombia!
What app were you using for making the beats??? I have looked a lot and can never find a good app for good beat making. These are great tutorials BTW, I have learned a lot.
I OFFICIALLY HATE THE TRANSFORMER SCRATCH!! 😂😂😂😂 However; I GOT TO LEARN IT!! #Ugh Lol
hello i'm a fan of scratch i'm from belgium and i saw the video on the
Scratch Tutorial 5 (transform) and would like to know what is the name of the sample thanks
Bruh thanks for the videos
My pleasure
I believe you used the transformer scratch during the michael jackson tribute when you mixed thiller but scratched to the billie jean beat. Am I right djTLMtv
I dont know if anyone looks here anymore, but I have a numark mixtrack pro 3, and am wondering if i can change the crossover curve. help!
I was wondering what to do with my left platter. Cause im a righty. Thanks Bro
Your videos are great and very informative, but can you please post or even say the name of the beats you're using. For me to download the same beat, I have to sift through all of your music to find it.
Great Job!
I'm really excited to see your next Tutorials, because I think you could help me a lot to improve my Chirps on Hip Hop Beats :)
do you use the mic on the camera or a lavaliere or on a phone (i saw your phone on the mixer)
thanks for all the great videos! your channel is my favorite!
keep it up :)
You are very Good at teaching Dam dude you should have a DJ School...
have you ever thought about making your tutorials into like samples I was listening to you and the things you say and how you say them would sound really good. mixed into some chill beats
+music is the most high Someone actually did this with one of my videos.
Your the only one that I've seen that can explain it properly! Dj jazzy Jeff is the shizzzzz as well. Love the content! I'll post videos once I get a camera!
DJ TLM Where is the scratch file?
Check out my Soundcloud page (djtlm). I have a playlist with free beats and scratch sound that you can download there
What Kind Of Hip Hop Music You Play Because I need Some good music of hip hop
can i get some sites .?
Thank you for these!!! This tutorials have been a huge help. I really appreciate your hard & budget friendly work!
+Nilla Wiggs No problem
i can't find the sound you used for scratching
Bro this really helping me to learn scratching, killa videos man cheers. much respect
Great! 👍🏽
Good idea changing hands. Back in the days i had only one tt for scraching so i never tried later on to switch hand to exercise intentionally..good one 👍
the transformer scratch is giving me butterflies n headaches........
I can't get this transformer scratch sound on my sz2. its in vinyl mode but still no sharp sounds
what that app called to make beats on
I used iMaschine. That's the mobile version of Native Instrument Maschine. I use it to make sketches and then I export the projects and work on them on my studio computer with Maschine.
I wanna be a professional dj like you.Everything I learn from you I do take the lessons serious and do everything you say. Thanks
I can't see the link to download the scratch samples used in the video tutorials can someone help me with the link?
Is there a way to change the curve on an Epsilon Inno-Mix?
i have a ddj-sb and i cant find the fader curve and not sure if it has that option and im working with serato intro is there anything i can do??
Thanks for the video it really helped me. But doesn't scratching also depends on the slipmat and what makes it slip for example butterrugs...and the type of stylus i use Shure...and finally the type of fader...I have a pioneer djm 250mk2 with magvel fader...but i hear the innofaders are way better
i cant wait to get good at this ...... this is so damn dope
Is a transformer scratch the same as a 3 click flare?
No, it’s almost the opposite. You start the transform scratch with the fader in the closed position and you tap the fader to hear the sound. You start the flare in the open position and you tap the fader to close it.
@@djTLMtv Thanks. I have one more question on this. On the transformer, does it matter wither you push the record forward or just let it go forward before you pull it back? Is that still a transformer? As ive seen djs doing it both ways. Ive just ordered a reloop spin.
My question is this, I downloaded a sounds file and has three or for different sounds. How do I use or separate them, my work around is que points, but boy it's hard keeping track of them on the fly.
Of you want them as seperate files you will have to use audio editing software and save each sound as an indiviual file. If you don’t have software yet, Audacity is free
Ok. What would you suggest?
