      @@TheKitComplete should check the belt itself. Maybe it is too stretched. The humming sound in your video appeares when belt slips around platter. After mode have been done two rubber surfaces (belt and rubber band) receive perfect connection, thus torq from motor spindle to platter goes without any leak. That's the idea. For me it works perfectly. Of course all should be installed properly. Good luck!

      There are but as far as I know they are not very common and it is sometimes hard to find out which records are royalty free. Scratching has been in a grey area for some time now. @TheKitComplete  3 роки тому

      Hey, this is a fairly common problem with a few solutions. Firstly you can add a platter stabilizer or upgrade the whole platter. Less platter wobble helps a lot. If you need you can add some weight to the needle like a penny or something. Also when you are just starting there is a tendency to be very heavy handed. With time you’ll learn a lighter touch. Also look into getting skipless records.

    Would you say the pt01 is a good buy, even though you need to upgrade almost every feature it has? I’m just starting out and a wondering if it’s worth getting into, or maybe it’s better to start at a higher level of a turntable…

    • @TheKitComplete
      @TheKitComplete  2 роки тому +1

      It is a bit of a tricky question. In short I would say yes it's worth it. Even with all of the upgrades it is still a very cheap way of getting into scratching, possibly the cheapest. One thing to keep in mind when you're looking at full sized turntables is that for scratching you don't want to go with the cheapest model, especially avoid anything that is belt driven. You'll want to look at direct drive turntables. Plus you'll have to get your own mixer which adds to the cost. Depending where you are you might find a good deal on second hand goods. There are definitely pros and cons either way you go. For me going portable was the best option as I don't have the room for a permanent setup so being able to quickly and easily move/setup/pack away was a big factor in my choice. Hope that all helps
