Hi Sir. Just saw this video. The seven buildings along the Queen's Park Savannah are as follows: Queen's Royal College, the oldest Government secondary school in the country. The building has always been a school and its architecture is of German Renaissance, where this present structure was built in 1903.The blue building is Hayes Court which is the official residence of the Anglican Bishop. The third building is Mille Fleur, the office of the National Trust of Trinidad and Tobago, which overseas historical structures in the country. The fourth is family owned, which is Roume Castle. The fifth, which is the maroon and cream building is Archbishop's House, the residence and office of the Archbishop of Port-of-Spain. The white building is White Hall, which is the office of the Prime Minister. Finally, the last building is Castle Killarney, or commonly known as Stolmeyer's Castle. Finally, the Queen's Park Savannah is not a roundabout. Thank you.
My brother, the Savannah is all Port of Spain. You are still in Port of Spain. You meant that you will take a walk back to Downtown Port of Spain?. Thank you for this video. I enjoyed watching it. I am a Trinidadian who lives abroad and love watching videos of people who visit my beautiful twin island State.
bro can u offer some suggestions as u live there? I have a job offer for CFO position in an IT firm. For now I have not taken much details about salary package etc. Also during my research I come to know there is no direct flight from my country. I will take 2 different planes and than via Port of Spain I will land to Ireland ( TT & TD ) 2ndly in my home country (PK) I am Full Stack Web Dev so already making 6 figure. ( I have CS/IT Background) As u live there, what do u suggest is accpeting this job offer worth while? My end goals are PROFESSIONAL GROWTH and ofcourse higher income in long run. 3rdly if I accept this offer and live in TT & TD, Can living there help me move to G20 countries via Immigration Route such as CANADA, NORTH AMERICA or Uk? or living in TT & TD have no edge for CANADA immigration?
Only just seeing your message, apologies. I don’t live there unfortunately and not knowledgeable enough to give any advice. I suggest join some Trinidad groups on Facebook and ask the community, hopefully you’ll get some answers. Bless
Nice video. Thank you @Teflon Travels for sharing your experience while visiting our beautiful Country. However please permit me to share some important & proper facts about the Magnificent Seven. (1) They are not Unoccupied sitting vacant. (2)Some are owned by the State & others are privately owned -- all are considered "Heritage" Sites and public access varies; in some cases you can arrange tours of some them. KILLARNEY (STOLLMEYER’S CASTLE) Was built 1902-1904; It was acquired by the T&T Govt in 1979 and has been repurposed as offices and a conference room; it falls under the management of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Arts. It is rented for a variety of functions organized by both private and government organizations. WHITEHALL (ROSENWEG) Built in 1904 by Joseph Leon Agostini, a cocoa planter; It has been used as the Prime Minister's office since 1963 (1 year after our independence) For a time it was unoccupied becuz of deterioration; However it underwent restoration in 2000 & a major refurbishment in 2016 and has been re-occupied by the Prime Minister's Office. (NOTE: This is the Prime Minister's working space NOT the Residence) QUEEN'S ROYAL COLLEGE QRC as it's fondly called was not "converted" to a college. It was built for that purpose from the start (albeit for the exclusive use of the colonialists & rich elite). The foundation stone was laid in November 1902 BY Sir Courtney Knollys, who was the acting governor of the day AMBARD’S HOUSE / ROOMOR Built in 1904 as a family residence by Lucien F Ambard; It changed ownership several times over the decades until 1940, when it was sold to Mr Timothy Roodal. The Site has remained a private residence occupied by his grand daughter & her family ARCHBISHOP’S PALACE The Archbishop’s Palace was built in 1903 - 1904 by the Fifth Archbishop of Port of Spain and has remained the residence of the Catholic Archbishops. It has undergone renovations over the years; it was notable that after the completion of one such major renovation in 1969, Monsignor Anthony Pantin, the FIRST TRINBAGO BORN Archbishop, took up residence HAYES COURT Built as the residence of Trinidad and Tobago’s Anglican bishops In 1908 - 1910; Currently the building has been retained for use as a residence and has been consistently occupied & maintained MILLE FLEURS The house was built in 1904. In June 1979, the government of Trinidad and Tobago purchased it & since then, the building has been used by state agencies for a variety of programmes such as industrial cottages and community business initiatives For those interested in getting more in-depth & detailed information about these and other "Magnificent" Heritage Sites around Trinidad & Tobago, please go to The Trinidad and Tobago Natitional Trust Nationaltrust.tt and Visittrinidad.tt Websites. 🇹🇹❤🇹🇹🤍🇹🇹🖤🇹🇹 🥰
Thanks for this information. I am a Trini, but I did not know that the Anglican bishops resided there. They must never let these buildings get demolished. It is sad because of politics that our people can't appreciate their country.
You did a good job except for a few misses in the narrative. I am a Catholic and lived in Trinidad for my first 23 years, but I never saw what the inside of the cathdral looked like. It is beautiful. I will visit both the Catholic and Anglian cathdrals on my next visit. Don't forget to go to Mount St. Benedic Abbey next time.
nice video but A WORD OF of advice. please do some research on the history of the buildings. this is an international video and we would want the public to have the correct information
@@TheMancrabDon't forget to point out to the opposite north side of the Savannah, where the President resides. Around the corner from there is the Prime Minister's residence, which is a much larger and more modern building. The Emperor Valley Zoo and Royal Botanic Gardens are situated to the left of the president's residence. There are several suburbs adjacent to the Savannah.
They should turn all of them plantation homes into a organisation instead of having them sitting there empty sadly reminding the Trinidadians of the country and their history and what it stands for
They turned the first one into a college which is good, i might be wrong about the others, some of them might have a purpose i know some of them are empty
Chinese own the buildings and businesses on that street. Had he gone into the buildings he would have seen Chinese. He might have even seen Bruce Lee LOL Trinidad has a population of Chinese like Guyana and Jamaica.

And I wish I was a trini 😅
Yes man i'm happy you happy to experience our beloved Country.❤
Yh man the islands. Especially here in Tobago 🇹🇹
In school we would have walkathons around the savannah, as a child I could only make around 1 lap 😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
To be fair it is a big area to cover 🤦🏾♂️
The name of the dish is call Callaloo, it is made from the dasheen leaves. Jamacia callaloo is a type of spinach
The whole area was "PORT OF SPAIN" it's just the almost the Western limits of Port of Spain but was still in the city.
They should call it “Trini town 😊🇹🇹
For real 🤣

Very true
Go to Creole Kitchen for authentic Trinidad food. Asked "what's that?" She replied "fried rice" lol. Merging of cultures i suppose

Watching from southside
Nuff respect 🫡 @kenson 🙌🏾

You’re countries beautiful. Can’t wait to visit again
I now watch Jamaica walk by very dirty and nosy but i rather port of Spain clean and more organized and less nosy that kingston
Have to agree with you
In Monteg Bay, the area where the vendor food stalls and market were located, was very dirty when I visited there
The trees are blocking my view
😅
Church on independence square is a Catholic Church.
