Early A.M Attitude - Dave Grusin & Lee Ritenour - Bass cover

Status S4000. I only heard this song for the first time last week, on a jazz fusion YT channel, but took it from a radio broadcast that came from a tape from 1987.

The depth of sound in comparison to the album release/cd version was huge. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did playing it. The monster that is Abe Laboriel is on the bass, along with Carlos Vega (rip) on drums and the usual GRP musicians. Love this music and the typical tone of my Status! 😎💥

Phil thanks, can you suggest say three of your fav Grusin albums? I only know this from Lee Ritenour’s album, from the Grusin material I’ve heard, it’s all fantastic, all the best!

Haha I wish! Funnily enough I went back to 30-90’s Elites. However, the tone and feel is much better with 35-95’s on this bass, a play with very light strings as my fingers blister so quickly and to play fast slap obviously better with lighter strings. I haven’t used a higher gauge than 35’s for about 20 years 🙈 thanks man 👊
