I was thinking of buying this device but did not understand how it works, so I came to youtube. I still have no clue how it works. So I will not be purchasing this device now.
My uncle had this and was showing it to me. NGL I was confused as hell as what I was supposed to do…..but once he explained it more, I understood it’s purpose, and imo it’s actually one of the most helpful golf tools I’ve ever used.
I agree with the last reply. I would like to make one additional comment. If your club is aligned at 6 o clock at rest before you begin take away. The lesson reveals itself on the takeaway. In the first 6 inches (hands) of your backswing you will see the yellow line is perfectly aligned with the target. If you have a forward press at setup it will be very difficult to line up in a parallel format. The key is the alignment at rest before the takeaway
I just bought this and used it at the range today. In a word.... "Garbage". A complete waste of Money. The thing won't stay on. It does nothing beyond the first 12 inches of the back swing. Leadbetter..... smarten up. Why would you sell this?? Dont be a clown. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!
I bought this device and I’m having trouble understanding what am I looking from the top. We need a visual from the players view looking down at the device. The directions that came with it and the videos they don’t show anything useful. This might be a great device but without the proper visual that is useless. All the training aids need to be filmed from the players or the users point of view, what am I looking when I look down the shaft , where is the club face when I’m looking down and turning , is the toe up , down , do I hinge my wrist , is the club facing the ball at 9 o’clock or is it facing forward. All this need to be filmed from the player looking down at the device and using the device and checking this lines. That’s what someone is going to do after he buys the device he will be alone in the range using the device and the only visual he has is what he see from the top by himself. All this different camera angles from the front and back are useless. Please film it from the top from the players view. Greatly appreciate it .
I think at 8 o'clock the yellow line should be over the alignment stick that goes across the toes. In other words if the alignment stick is yellow, you should not see the yellow line on the device as it blends in and visually is on top of the alignment stick. It is a great position check.
it's actually not about hinging but more about eliminating early supination of the right arm forcing the clubhead behind you too early. this is no joke one of the best drills to improve ball striking. everything falls into place it's amazing
Honestly, after years and years of Leadbetter hustling these training aids it’s hard to watch. You’re better off taking lessons from ur local pga professional. Everyone swings differently and everyone has different quirks and nuances to their swings. You can’t cookie cut everyone into a mold. It’s not realistic. This aid might help some but usually it’s more of a band aid than a swing fix.
It showed that back of my lead hand was twisting down too much on takeaway (creating more closed face), but even more enlightening was seeing my downswing was not matching up to backswing position. I found after about half way down into my swing the club head needed to be pushed away from my body (less inside) if that makes sense. Anyway, it really helped my create a more rounded arc and I started flushing my 3-metal off the deck and stopped slicing the Driver.
I have to disagree. This has literally helped my contact better then any training aid I’ve tried. I basically clip it to my club on the range before a round. I practice the take away 10-20 times getting the feel of the correct position. Then I take it off and hit balls.(I will agree that it is hard to keep secure with a full swing)As someone who has struggled with a very I side takeaway and had a tendency to overcorrect taking the club way outside, this thing has totally slotted my swing on plane. I agree that instruction is somewhat lacking but I can’t argue with the results. I typically top or fat 10 shots per round. Since I got this my contact has never been better. It hasn’t completely fixed my accuracy but it has helped there as well.
david leadbettter and martin chuck are good gimmick salesman. i have fallen for several performance golf golf products and programs and got zilch out of them, don't fall for any of it. there are no short cuts.
The concept is very good, however the proper position on the club shaft is confusing. I agree there needs to be video from the golfers point of view, showing where the arrows are pointing to .This is about as clear of an explanation in the first 30 seconds . However, has any one been able to hit more that 2 live ball with out the aid loosing up,shifting and falling off.I have tried adding a lock nut as a back up . Imagine that Home Depot did not have the size .Metric or regular. We considered crazy glue to lock the unit onto the shaft As a teaching professional.I will not allow a student to use it because of the instability. If this comes off the shaft during the swing or at contact .That could be a disaster I have attached a clamp and zip ties to keep it in place.I have now purchased a second aid and will try drilling through the steel shaft .Inserting 2 screws to keep tit on and in position Please add comments or suggestions PS Called the 1 800 number no response .Also look to purchase one and prices vary from $49 to $149 each Thanks
Interesting device. Guessing the alignment sticks are part of the training system since they are the same colors as the shaft device? Interested in seeing what other usefulness the device/training system might have...
Leadbetter is at it again with another piece of overpriced plastic 😂 I was just curious what this aid did, seems like all it does is show people where to start the club while taking it back, basically p1-p2 but you could do that with just about anything, A coin on the ground, an alignment stick, etc. plus it does nothing to teach people the actual movement off the ball, they could still easily do it wrong but think it’s correct according to this training aid. Also you could just use some tape and cardboard or something and make this yourself. Also the first 2 feet off the ball is absolutely not the most important part of the swing, the plethora of takeaways that have won major championships is proof that along with the fact that I know I could break par taking the club away just about any way possible. I hope it’s a cheap training aid and people don’t get their expectations too high.
I’m really kind of surprised, although I shouldn’t because people are fucked up, at how many con artists and scammers exist in the golf market. This guy is a complete snake oil salesman , buyer beware. The “instructions” don’t really tell you anything.
Could help some I guess, but it is not the best for someone that likes an inside backswing. It is only a few inches but with my irons I need the club going inside and around before that. I do not know about others but I need to get the club going back inside to make the old shoulders turn using this it almost causes me to sway and once I sway I cannot turn my shoulders back enough. =
I just used it for the first time tonight and a cured my swing in 2 swings. This is the best training aid that has ever been invented! Thank you, David Leadbetter!!

If you don’t understand this then it’s very clear you have a bad swing
To all those with issues with the device (not for or against it) just return it for a full refund! And thanks for the info!
Mine came loose swinging in my living room can only imagine what will happen when I go to the range.

Once you have the correct takeaway You just rotate your shoulders to the top and that should give you a pretty good position

I agree . More of what we are looking for is needed . What's the feel ? Talk about that
Well, at least yours came with instructions. Ridiculous
Agree. I bought one and it’s very confusing
This might be the worst training device i've seen. As if the golf swing wasn't complicated enough.
Clear as mud
Hahahah 100%. My goodness, what a terrible explanation
Don't hinge too early! .... No need to pay for plastic device to tell you that
it's actually not about hinging but more about eliminating early supination of the right arm forcing the clubhead behind you too early. this is no joke one of the best drills to improve ball striking. everything falls into place it's amazing
I bought this but it useless toy, don't waste your money

But I did build a DIY version
tell me more...@@ERFNED2926
Terrible instructions. Unuseable without POV and graphics.

he doesn't get into where it should on the downswing or point of contact, any idea?

Good lord what a waste of money. If you buy this I also have some land in Florida to sell you.
Nobody in their right mind wants to live in HOA Prison / Stucco hell Florida.
Ill still give you 100 bucks for the land though as im a nice guy.
Where in Florida?
I have some too. Northport area.
One of the dumbest products I have ever purchased. A total waste of money. Then they get you for a subscription. Total rip off
Another ridiculous gimmick.
I still don’t understand what the device does or how it works. Bought it and set it up…but what now?!?
This guys been selling band aids for years, you buy it and he abandons the product a few months in, now you’re stuck with it 🤦🏾♂️.
3-4” Wide tape on shaft below grip with a fat sharpie arrow(45*) on it and it won’t fall off.
Don't hinge your wrists early. This is nothing more than a visual aide for that.
Also no prob with hinging wrist early.
@@nunyo7259im trying to figure out the wrists, I tend to hinge right away on my backswing,
Another bs tool scam. Save your money and get real lessons

More information can be found on our website! www.shop.leadbetter.com
For an additional 70 dollars per stick.
Listen to this guy. Check out the wear spot on his club. 🤯

Mine falls off the club after 2-3 shots
Same for me, it’s good for air swings but when hitting balls and making ground impact it comes apart. I don’t want to over tighten
I’m really kind of surprised, although I shouldn’t because people are fucked up, at how many con artists and scammers exist in the golf market. This guy is a complete snake oil salesman , buyer beware. The “instructions” don’t really tell you anything.
This is video didn't help whatsoever. Only more questions.
So, which aid is actually the best?
Yeah, They said it came with free instructional videos.
This thing works
after you receive it they want 49.00 a month for thetraining films which they adverticed came with it what ascam
the device is the worm and then they set the hook.
They got me with the fine print, and it cost me a nice piece of change‼️

Maybe try tilting more?
Would it work with half a swing?
Yes, and as a bonus, it will pay your mortgage too!
🤦♂️🤦♂️
I just used it for the first time tonight and a cured my swing in 2 swings. This is the best training aid that has ever been invented! Thank you, David Leadbetter!!
good one LOL🤣
this is unironically the key to solid ball striking
