I would have paid top dollar to see Joan Crawford walk out and watch the reaction on Bette's face. Security would have been called to pull them apart .
They had some respect back then because nowadays they would of brought Crawford out to get a reaction. And you know Bette not good at hiding her facial expressions and emotions, would’ve made a good show though.
Bette Davis was born on april 5th. Those born that day are bombastic. My stepmother. Think The Nanny. Antoinette Capadose. Fine pianist. Likable and impossible. Both her husbands turned to drink and died before their time. I loved them both. And Bette from a safe distance. I live alone. Peace. And R.I.P to all concerned.
I like the way he indirectly pushes Bette and sits next to her, if it hadn't been on TV, Bette would have kicked his ass so hard! Ahahahahha I laughed myself silly!
Hollywood, the world of dreams and fantasy and viewers believe everything and enjoy it. The presenter arrives at a workplace that in the end turns out to be being filmed with spectators witnessing the show 😂
I think Bette got a little emotional and fighting back tears when her sister came out. Being the tough person she is, l'm sure she insisted on hiding her emotions.
alaindelonhj You have part of the story right. Davis and Wyler did have a love affair, but Davis played hard-to-get for too long and Wyler married another woman. Katharine Hepburn had a lifelong affair with Spencer Tracy, who refused to divorce his wife because of his Catholic faith. Of course, his faith didn’t stop him from having a partnership with Hepburn. Wyler was Jewish.
Did Bette get a long with her sister? Bettes tough but she has emotion and heart, she just don’t like to show them cause she doesn’t want to be taken advantage of or ever appear weak. She had vulnerabilities allright. She’s intimidating but that’s test you to see if you’ll crack, she respects you if you don’t Though she’s a legend and one of our greatest actresses. She never was with the in crowd like Crawford but Davis still made it. They had some respect back then because nowadays they would of brought Crawford out to get a reaction. And you know Bette not good at hiding her facial expressions and emotions, would’ve made a good show though.
Bette didn’t know. She just couldn’t get out of it lol. She couldn’t hide she’s annoyed at first but I think she’s happy just the same to see Willie Wyler and some others.
I adore her bright talk and humour, but I think it was quite dangerous - how anyone wrote heere - piss her off, she shines a huge authority which causes a kind of poeple's fear from her, I would have fear to talk to her, in spite of I would love to try :-)

Well,. she does look rather bored and you can just tell from the show that she is thinking "this is more than a tad tiresome" by the whole ordeal Some of the facts of her life are slightly erroneous and she's thinking about her TV movie and not in the mood. "I had just felt as if I'd been to my own funeral!"....heeeheee
This show was soooo schmaltzy/corny....there are times you can see that she was really ready for it to be over....even though its always great to see any clips of her, it must have been annoying to have that annoying man tell Her about what happened in her life....he is like a caricature of an announcer too...I am sure she would have rather not done this show. It was corny...
How on earth Ralph edwards ever got anone to actually go ahead with the show amazes me as he was a terrible host, his unproffessional manner made for stomach churning viewing show format good host bad
she seems to very strong and a little attiude like i shouldnt be here and i see the people that i havent seen , but i have more inportant things. she was very rude and snobby .not nice at all
I was I was among the audience. What a magical feeling to see Miss Davis in person and hear that wondeful voice and laughter of hers!
There will never be another Bettie Davis she was so Talented.🥰
Her comments to director William Wyler are so classy and very true. "The Best Years Of Our Lives" is one of the greatest films ever made.
In one of her books, Bette said that this show made her think she'd been to her own funeral...
Бетт Дейвис прекрасная актриса❤❤❤❤❤❤
LOVED, #90!!!
i love Bette Davis!!
"You are the... star... the SUPERstar, Bette Davis..." "Thank you."
A TRUE HOLLYWOOD LEGEND
everything bette was wearing would be perfectly stylish today... lol
"It's called *Madame Sin*, not *My Sin*..."

Oh my God two witchy looking Bette Davis's
negative.
bette davis...........never another one like her
The best ! La meilleure !
She looks so annoyed at first and completely blanks the presenter, haha.
Bette Davis was a legend and an icon of Hollywood
Ed
thank you so much for this great post.
YUK, LOOK AT THAT DECOR!
And that plaid suit on BD! Yikes!!
I read that Bette's mother devoted herself to Bette, not the sister. The mother was focused on making sure Bette would fulfill her dreams.

ayyyyyyy i've been waitin for this one
Are there enough chairs in that room? And none that match. It looks like a second hand store in the early 70s
@MissGarland18 I´ve just started reading it here in Chile, South America.
Man -- she actually went 9+ minutes without a cigarette...!
she is a lovely person
Willie Wyler looks like one of the old war blokes in our RSL Club
windbag.
What year was this ?
Bette loved her sister. If her mother showed a preference it was her issue.

She put her hands up to stop her sister from kissing her. Same hairdos.
She got Punk'd and She seems so sweet about it.
What year was this taped?
She doesn't seem rude at all to me, just in the beginning when her work is being interrupted.
I've seen her be rude before. This isn't even close.
+Sloopyla that moment is fascinating, very real.
Ice Queen...........
LOL She looked a little annoyed he first came in....I thought she was going to hit him when he kept getting in her face and touching her....
Pure 50's cheese. Why was this brought back in the 70's? It's just so artificial but nice to see Davis.
why do they have the guests sit on a box?? Cheap skates
Ralph’s hair almost looks natural. Well, almost.
Bette Davis used to have an affair with William Wyler, but Wyler refused to divorce with his wife due to his religion.
what do you mean ˝due to his religion˝? I am curious, was he a theist/atheist?
Oh, he married Margaret Tallichet instead. Bette waited too long.

She's the best!
That’s her Yanky background.
Even her mother hated her
Peter Ford
Right ..as if she didn't know Ralphie was coming....and Robert Wagner dressed to 9's for a costume meeting? Uh huh .. sure.....
I don’t believe Bette did know, but she might have had a hunch. Wagner was dressed up for it because he set her up.

This Is Your Awkward Life Part 1
I would not like Ralph's job. Everything is awkward
The most awkward and cringe producing program ever.
I Totally agree....so corny
