i like how redragon has evolved, their earlier products are what one would think of a cheap gamer brand, glossy plastic, bulky weird sharp overdesigned edges and unnecesary geometry that just look inmature, aswell as red-painted plastic that didnt combine with anything that wasnt red already so the rgb itself didnt match nowadays their products resemble a more refined and mature taste, matte plastic mostly, softer, more contour oriented and proportionally refined shapes. aswell as they are approaching a color neutral color scheme to let the rgb show trough unimpeded by the hardware paint
I'm glad tech reviewers are starting to look at more budget oriented products, and Reddragon so far has actually impressed me with how they've managed to keep up with trends while keeping their prices down.
I just purchased one myself. The RGB light doesn't really stand out but it is colorful. The sound however, clear, crisp and loud. Really digging the soundbar thus far.
I was looking for a more precise review of this soundbar and voila! Great review. Looking at the build with the rubber at the bottom, the tactile knob and the sound test, I might just snag this soon enough. Subbed!

@@swhynhm5922 Edifier R980T, pretty cheap and good sound too. I use it for my record player, and it's pretty good, so I imagine it'll be as good for the PC
It's also sold under other brands around the world, like atake, for maybe $20. These are all coming out of the same factory. The material is really cheap, the rgb is random and you can't control it, red led for the dial + rainbow for the base is just a weird looking choice. The sound quality is like you would expect from a tiny set of desktop speakers, ie, tinny and bad. The "usb (only for power)" feels like a cheap gimmick to advertise a usb speaker that isn't. But... they are super cheap! (If you buy the other branded versions like atake, anyway). I know people can have different tastes, but hard to understand how you can make a 99% positive review like this. I kept hearing "super crisp! super crisp!"... yeah that's not crisp, that's clipping at almost any volume, because you're running sound effects through tweeters. So... agree with you on the bass out, and the dial does feel nice! I just think you were pulling some punches in other areas of fit and finish. (Like, was your grill missing paint on the left side?)
Oh, wow, I was wrong about not being able to control the RGB. If you touch the logo on the top it cycles through options. Much better than I thought at first.
USB for power is a good thing actually. The other good reason to separate the mini jack connector and USB for power is that the standard power output for the ports of a laptop or desktop is 500 - 800ma (0.5 - 0.8A) at 5V (which means 0.5A * 5V = 2.5 watts and 0.8A * 5V = 4 watts of power range of 2.5-4.0 wattage) while if you use USB phone/tablet charger of 1.0-2.4A your speakers will have access to at least double to quadruple amount of power. If this was an unified USB port providing both audio DAC and speaker driver power transit then the power used for the DAC would further starve the speaker drivers of this power. This power difference will keep the sound from being too thin when cranked and let bass slam with better authority (I use the Bugha sub/sat and with a good USB charging brick on a secondary laptop, it sounds better than the Logitech Z200 which used to be my easy suggestion for budget speakers).
Yeah I saw this and thought I’d get it, and VERY few actual reviewers on Amazon feel the same. Lol. It looks pretty cool for the price, but he seems like he’s trying to sell this.

The design looks very clean for the price. I’ve seen some similar sound bars at this price point and they look much cheaper than this one. Also, kind of weird but the Amazon link is not working for me
Too much bass is not good for watching TV or gaming. Then you don't hear certain other sounds that are sometimes more important. And if the bass is too high, it will eventually give you a headache. There must be a balance when it comes to gaming, music and watching TV, that's just my opinion of course and from my own experience.
