You put a lot of thought and finesse into these scenes. I also like how resourceful you are finding your materials. There is a lot of commercial textured coloured stuff that anyone can get a pleasing result with using big shaker bottles, but this is proper detail informed by close observation.
Hi Merrick, your videos are so entertaining and I find it extremely fascinating the different materials you use to create them. I still can't believe you've only been doing this for a few years. Brenda
love this merrick, youre best one to date in my opinion. youve obviously changed your mind about detailg the rocks comment from your rolling river diorama. i personally think they were the most realistic, but again, just my opinion. keep up the good work, another like towan in the making
Lovely diorama, enjoyed that one, as usual with your vids. Keep up the good work and providing me with inspiration to do something positive during the long lockdown. Cheers, Rick Bulldog
Just got an inspiration for my landscaping project for my degree through this random video. You are such a talent and you really did a good job.So nice ❤
Hi. I came across your channel (and subscribed) almost by accident after being captivated by Luke Towan's...and I have to say, your's is excellent too :-). I'm a scale modeller and have never built a diorama, but I have a few ideas on how to display some of my models, and have found your work inspirational. I love the techniques you demonstrate along with the creative use of materials. I really like the music you've added to the later videos too...it's very relaxing and makes the clips even more enjoyable. You have another ardent follower in me :-)
The format certainly does not work for me. I like narrated videos and now I just got annoyed with the music after a few minutes and I just started skipping through the video until the end. Your work was excellent and it deserves more than cheese music and some lines of text. I do understand the need to try different formats so I assume some feedback is appreciated too. :-) In any case, I found your channel just recently I love it! :-D
I am new to this channel and this is probably my favorite channel now. For this video though I have to fast forward since I am not a fan of loud urban/electronic music. I prefer you narrating or just the ambient sound of you doing the diorama... 👍👍👍
Love your videos and this one didn't disappoint. Really missed the voice over though - your explanation of the process and commentary is very entertaining!
I'm curious as to the up-scale-ability of these micro-realms. If, for instance, one wanted to make version of this at 1/6 or 1/4 actual size, does one run into problems in regards to the techniques used to create the look of the water, for instance? I would imagine much larger models might entail developing entirely new techniques. (These are very beautiful mini-worlds, almost like "bullet-time" in physical 3-dimensions!)
Thank you. Yes, I imagine different materials would be needed. Well, I'm sure if it in fact. The resin wouldn't be an issue, as long as you had plenty of it and layered it appropriately, but the ripples would need to be a clear polymer or something. The other materials, like bark and grass, are only suitable for smaller scales.
really detailed work, it makes all the diference!.. i have one question, how do you preserve those natural branches¿¿ i mean , how to protect it from degradation¿
just found your channel in my recommended today watched some of your vids i really like your content. I also saw your channel was fairly new i hope to see your channel grow. subscribing
Why did you use a pieces of grass mat instead of a grass fiber + electrostatic machine? I think the mat remain still visible after glueing. Anyway, excellent job. Water is perfect. Subscribed.
I use both. The mat is 12mm grass, which a static grass applicator struggles with. I blend the mat in with shorter lengths of static grass using the machine.
Really liked the video and the model! But wouldnt use digital zoom, it lowers the video quality quite a lot, which is unfortunate bc the model is so nice
Thanks. I agree. Unfortunately I'm limited by my equipment until I can afford to buy new stuff. Also work in a very small space. I've found a way to get closer now so it should improve things. Thanks for the feedback!
Great vid and a beautiful end result! -But it just got me thinking... All the people (you) working in this the model/diorama/railroad building, are they (you) really buying these specific, and rather expensive, products like ModPodge, SculptaMold and small bottles of diluted acrylic paint? It seems to me that it is just watered down PVA glue, Plaster of Paris with some cellulose fiber added and regular acrylic paint that you can buy at the thrift store for a dollar or two for a whole palette of tubed paint, mix with water and put it in your airbrush... -Now, I don't mean to insult anyone, but I find it utterly satisfying to experiment with cheap everyday stuff e.g. mixing CA-glue with baking soda or using construction isolation foam and free wooden stir sticks from your local coffee shop. Please comment and share your own nifty and cheap tricks whatever they may be.
I make my own scenic glue from matte medium. I use Mod Podge because it's convenient and I got a load on offer 😊 Sculptamold...I've made some with toilet tissue and plaster, but it's a mess and I lack time. I'm moving further away from 'hobby' products, though. It is incredibly expensive.
I enjoy the craftmanship but I rather hear you speaking than listen to this annoying music... there are a few youtubers that have the courage and good taste to make videos without background music which is a blessing. Yes I can turn off music myself but I don't like muted videos.
You cease to amaze me with how realistic you make these landscapes
Michael Vermazani - .. do you mean “never cease”?
Another wonderful diorama. I would of never thought of using bark to model rocks. Thanks for sharing. Randy
Cheers Randy! 😊

I love watching these before bed 😩🤞
incredible realism .... GREAT !!!
Brilliant! I love the use of landscape bark. I really like the length of your episodes. Just right.
Cheers Norman 😊

You do good work, it may be time to upgrade that camera. Can't wait to see ALL of the fine details that make your diorama's great!
Thanks. It'll be time when I can afford it, alas 🙂
@@HighEyeWorkshop of course of course
Love the video! But I definitely enjoyed your voice! Keep up the good work! It's still very impressive!
Trying something new. Also, I'm going to be doing written tutorials on Patreon, so I want to give folk a reason for looking at those 😁

Thank you 😊
It's look realistic
Well done. What specific landscaping bark did you use for this?
I got it from B&Q in the UK and I think it's redwood.
High Eye Workshop cool, thanks
It's look like original

Amazing......
May I ask what airbrush you are using.
It's just one by SprayCraft, since I don't need an expensive one for intricate work 👍
And thank you 😊

Where do you store all your dioramas ? Thnx
In my garage 😁
"Do you want to know how I got these scars?"
Sawing the branches off a Christmas tree and washing a broken glass...not at the same time.
shit always looks good when its out of focus

Why did him wiping off the mod podge at 1:46 remind me of a cream pie or that one scene in the first boku no pico?
