Just saw him live for the first time about 2 months ago. He lived up to the legend! At 73 years old he STILL ran circles around everyone and did an almost 3-hour show. LEGENDARY!!
A testament to the power of youth. Shaves 5 years off my miserable middle-age whenever I hear the song. Springsteen has had an astonishing career. Anthems like this, thoughtful ballads and folk tunes about real life and real love. Never lost touch with his working-class roots no matter how much money he made. He will not be replaced.
Bruce and the E street Band ALWAYS put on a great show. Their energy is constant, which transfers to the audience, and it is normal for them to play for 3 hours straight. Bruce considers playing onstage to be like his "therapy".
I agree! Whaddya expect at 74 and recently ill. He burns on two cylinders, but I was stoked how good it was in Seattle. I'm lucky at $800 for nosebleeds that a pal treated me. We had gone to at least 40 shows together over the years. I believe in the faith that can save me.
Now that you've done this signature hit and "Dancing In The Dark", you got to explore his catalog: "Hungry Heart", "Born In The U.S.A.", "I'm On Fire", "My Hometown", "Glory Days", "Pink Cadillac" ...and so many more!
Spirit of the night, Darkness on the edge of Town, Tenth Ave. Freeze Out, Rosalita ( one of my favorites), My Hometown, No Surrender, I'm on Fire, and Fire ( two different songs), Cadillac Ranch if it hasn't already been said, just to name a few, then there are some like Mansion on the Hill, and Mr. State Trooper that most people don't know, which I like as well that are Worth checking out.
It's always hard for me to believe this was 1975; Bruce was so ahead of his time. It took the music world 12 years to catch up to this. The whole album is the Mona Lisa of music and you could pick any song off of it to react to and be happy. Genius.
Just so you know, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band is touring Europe and America this summer and fall. I saw Bruce at TD Garden in Boston earlier this year and the band still BRINGS IT, big time! Silas, if you liked what you saw in the video of Born To Run, make sure to see Bruce Springsteen live this year. 50 years from now, you'll be able to tell people you got to see Bruce Springsteen live!
I have seen Bruce live in concert 105 times, including 5 times this past April. I have tickets for 4 more shows at the end of the summer to bring my total to 109. Bruce by far, is the best live performer in the history of music. He routinely did 4 hour concerts up to the age of 66. Now at 73, he only plays for THREE hours! I took a lot of videos from the shows in April and put them on my youtube channel. Although he no longer runs across the stage and slides on his knees, or jumps on top of the piano, he is plenty energetic for his age. I hope he continues to play till he gets to be 100!
I miss him going to the piano, and I really miss him coming out early in a t shirt and acoustic to take requests. ❤ I bow to you. I've only been to 46. But I can't afford any more shows. I did see in Seattle. Have a good time. Godspeed if you're in the pit. 🎉
I'm seeing him for the 8th time in October and I am psyched. No one does concerts like Bruce. And if you want to rock out, try "Jungleland", "The Promised Land", "Born in the USA" , "10th Avenue Freeze Out", and even "Santa Claus is Coming to Town", if you want ballads, "Racin' in the Streets", "The River" or "Nebraska", for great music with a message, "The Rising", "Independence Day", or "Ghost of Tom Joad"
Not always a fan, not a fan of every song but holy Moses he gave it his all every night for 3-4 hours, easily double other bands, no lie. They put it OUT there. Respect.
Interestingly, he never had a number one hit song, although a couple of his songs were covered and went to number one. I was in High School when this Born To Run album came out, and it really "saved"' me. His lyrics can be really deep, like the song "Badlands" from the Darkness on the Edge of Town album. For a dorky kid who felt invisible, Bruce was a savior.
Clarence "The Big Man" Clemons (saxophone) was an amazing talent. The E Street Band, had a global reputation as a top notch group. It would be worth your time looking into who they are, and where their paths led them. This was enjoyable to watch.
Now that we got your attention LOL. I saw him twice in Chicago in the 80s…once at an indoor venue, the second at a sold out Soldier Field. Both had the same intensity, energy and total crowd domination. Bruce puts on a Live show like no other. But you should also know he can go from high energy to dark and melodic and still manage to capture the same intensity. He is as charismatic a performer as you will EVER see. I still think you should check out the studio version of "Born to Run". Then check out "The River" and "Hungry Heart". Sooo much classic Springsteen to choose from. Tip of the iceberg.
I became a Springsteen fan with his very first album “Greetings From Asbury Park”, followed by “The Wild The Innocent, And The E Street Shuffle”. Then came this masterpiece album “Born To Run”, and then “Darkness On The Edge Of Town”. In my opinion these first four albums came when Bruce was at the top of his game. If you haven’t heard what many consider to be Bruce’s “magnum opus”, then you need to listen to “Jungleland” from this same album. ♥️✌🏼😎
I saw The Boss twice in my country and in Spain, 2 nearly 4 hour long concerts, unforgettable! I understand these days Paul McCartney is blaming Springsteen for setting the bar so high😀...I f you liked the brilliance of the lyrics do listen to his albuns "Darkness on the edge of town" and "The River". Or just start anywhere else you can't go wrong with this level of mastery.
I saw him on "The River" tour. I was not a big fan at the time but I was blown away by the energy of his show. He really has an amazing stage presence.
I've seen him live about twenty times or so. Most recently in February 2023 in Orlando. No one can match the intensity of his live shows. I recommend the song Badlands from the Live in Barcelona video, its a very good example of how he runs his shows.
Just saw him in concert yesterday (after seeing him twice on the River tour), and seriously, that guy just played one song after another, no pause, no nothing, for three hours straight. Absolutely incredible for anyone, never mind someone who's 74 years old!
Silas - welcome to Springsteen nation. The very first time I really listened to that song and the power of it I wasn't much younger than you are now. 40 years later it still gets the same reaction from me. I hope you get a chance to catch him live before he hangs it up with the E. Street Band. Thank you for sharing this!
I saw him on The Born To Run tour, The River tour and the Born In The USA tour. Bruce is always great. You should listen to The River (the title track of the album) for a completely different side to Bruce.
Competes with “Layla” as the greatest rock song of all time IMO. I knew this one would get you out of your seat, Silas (which, of course, is your tell for how much you like a song). 🙂 Great reaction.
So I was born in 70 - knew couple of songs and then 'Born in the USA ' came out - dominated the charts (I'm not American BTW). Then I lost track - but rediscovered him with the Live at Hyde Park DVD (yes back in the day). Since then I've bought and looked up every concert throughout his career. I'm convinced his live shows are the best ever, With the 'E-street' band he's unstoppable, Lost a couple of members and also a period where he wasn't with them - but they're still doing live concerts today. And on average with over 3 hours per show and a catalogue of so many songs - they're the best live !!!
iwas lucky enough to see him live a couple times when he was at the height of hi popularity. both concerts, he played well over three hours. the guy was a bundle of energy and stamina. this song was my favorite of his, but he had a lot more hits for you to watch.
Three hours nothing. I grew up in Jersey, and when Bruce came back to the Meadowlands in the 80's, he'd go four and a half hours and break the crowd. we'd run out of gas before he did!
Great reaction, and way to bust up the studio! I would recommend "Thunder Road" and "Badlands" next, and imo The Boss is always best live, so check him out in concert whenever you can!
You just watched one of the THE best rock songs ever. This is more than a classic, it helped define what rock is. Very cool to see you appreciate it for the first time.
Seen him 4 times in concert, including back to back nights here in St Louis at the Opera House (only 3500 seats)> Had to enter a lottery to get tickets. First night lower mezzanine, dead center: Second night in the second row right in front of Clarence Clemons. If I could only get that lucky playing the Powerball lottery!
Clarence Clemmons (The Big Man) on the sax. Also Bruce's best friend. Little Steven on the guitar. Max Wienberg on the drums. Bruce is a story teller in every song. Every song is worth it.
easily one of my all-time favorite songs in the history of forever. this song never fails to get me amped the fuck up. bruce and the e-street band are in a galaxy of their own. I got to see them live back in september 2012 in philly and it was legit the best concert I have ever seen by lightyears. that shit was life changing.
In '75, Springsteen appeared on the cover of Time and Newsweek, (weekly news magazines before internet, when only 3 tv channels) which probably means nothing to Silas. I saw Bruce at The Kiel Opera House October 18, 1980. It had 3500 seats and i was in one of them. 2 sets plus endore he played well over 3 hours, running side to side on atage, climbing up, jumping off pianos. Best show I've ever seen.
Things you need to react to: 1)History of the entire world I guess 2)"Throwing out my $30,000 Pokémon collection, it was demonic" 3) Helluva Boss 4) In a Heartbeat
Four hours every night! Bruce is an absolute legend along with his late sax man, Clarence "Big Man" Clemons. Another huge rabbit hole to disappear in. Jungleland and Tunnel of Love are just a few of his prodigious catalog to explore.
Energy? Did you say energy? OMFG! It was pretty common for his performances with the E Street Band to go 4 hours -- sometimes longer. The single of this song was his very first hit. And that early on, his lyrics were already VERY cool.

Now, think about that likely being the last song of an over three hour set! We gotta find out what The Boss eats, and switch to his diet. Just MADE of pure energy.
🎸💯 Bruce Springsteen = the REAL DEAL‼🔥 🤯 Big Clarence Clemons on the sax was one of the 🐐s‼It's a blast to see you diggin The Boss, Silas‼I listen to my The River (double album) & other albums A LOT‼I've been listening to E Street band & Bruce for many, many years and I STILL love the vibe‼They're legendary‼☮ ❤ 🎶
46 shows at home and Spain. Blew out my knee and needed a teplacement after back to back nights. Here are a couple of requests that are not so mainstream: Quarter to Three (live) he played this live as the first Western artist to visit Russian East Germany Kitty's Back Ghost of Tom Joad (live in LA with Tom Morello. 100 % = if you were 18 - 25. Y o Old about during 1965 = THE BOSS Was your guy! UNBELIEVABLE PURE ENERGY and sound gad you FIRED UP IN A FUN WAY. I WILL NEVER Forget the 70s!!!
Hahahah! Excellent...caught in the mood just grabs a light stand as an air guitar....Anything goes, that's Rock and Roll dude. One for the swinging light bulbs above our beds!
If you get a chance to see him on this tour, DO IT!!! It will be one of the,if not the best concert experiences of your life! Suggestion for other Bruce music.Listen to all his music, you'll become an even bigger fan.
I'm glad you watched the video. That's why they call him The Boss. I consider this one of the most significant songs of the rock era.
Totally agree! You should check out Frankie Goes To Hollywoods cover of this, it’s superb
I'll check that out now!
That is why he's the Boss of Rock And Roll!!!
Just saw him live for the first time about 2 months ago. He lived up to the legend! At 73 years old he STILL ran circles around everyone and did an almost 3-hour show. LEGENDARY!!
A short show then!
I saw a 3:48 in 2014 in Melbourne and a 3:33 in 2016 in Brooklyn
Completely crazy how much stamina that man has
I almost cried, tho', when he tripped getting onto the stage...a mortality reminder....❤
Facts all around. I am reinvigorated anytime I hear this song.
Your reaction is exactly how we acted in '75 when it came out. Never question The Boss. Rock on!
Bruce and the E street Band ALWAYS put on a great show. Their energy is constant, which transfers to the audience, and it is normal for them to play for 3 hours straight. Bruce considers playing onstage to be like his "therapy".
Playing "air lamp" is a new twist I've never seen before.
But it wasn't acoustic!!!
What made me a huge fan of Bruce Springsteen and the E street band is they just seem to be truly having fun.
That is what REAL bands do! His shows are sold out in minutes and it's a good 2+ hours of pure passion. Thanks for sharing this! 😊
Congratulations for discovering the finest rock & roll band ever!
I've seen Springsteen live 12Xs. The first time was on my 17th birthday in 1977. The last time was in February. He never disappoints.
He burns it down. I usually go home injured in some way 😂😂
You simply can’t go wrong with Bruce. I encourage to keep exploring and if you can get to a concert…. It’s an unforgettable experience!
I saw Bruce in Boston, back in March.
Still sounding great at 73…..and the energy, though somewhat expectedly tempered, is still there!!
I agree! Whaddya expect at 74 and recently ill. He burns on two cylinders, but I was stoked how good it was in Seattle. I'm lucky at $800 for nosebleeds that a pal treated me. We had gone to at least 40 shows together over the years.
I believe in the faith that can save me.
Now imagine 4 hours of Bruce. He leaves you exhausted!!!!
Now that you've done this signature hit and "Dancing In The Dark", you got to explore his catalog: "Hungry Heart", "Born In The U.S.A.", "I'm On Fire", "My Hometown", "Glory Days", "Pink Cadillac" ...and so many more!

Back In Your Arms Again
Quarter to Three 😂
It's always hard for me to believe this was 1975; Bruce was so ahead of his time. It took the music world 12 years to catch up to this. The whole album is the Mona Lisa of music and you could pick any song off of it to react to and be happy. Genius.
Not really, perfect for his time!
Try Jungleland Live from
New York City
Hey Bruce! This kid needs a ticket to one of your concerts!!!
It happens
one of the great anthems of our time. thank you....

Great call on Racing and Nebraska. Both killers for new fans. Your list of ballads is awesome.
Not always a fan, not a fan of every song but holy Moses he gave it his all every night for 3-4 hours, easily double other bands, no lie. They put it OUT there. Respect.

One of the greatest rock and roll songs ever written. A true classic.
ever
I've seen them twice and screamed myself hoarse both times. They are just fantastic. RIP Clarence Clemons aka The Big Man.
Don't forget about Phantom Dan Federici. RIP.
Clarence "The Big Man" Clemons (saxophone) was an amazing talent. The E Street Band, had a global reputation as a top notch group. It would be worth your time looking into who they are, and where their paths led them. This was enjoyable to watch.
When they talk of a sea of people, look at the crowds, but remember, each person has a specific memory to the song.
Saw him in the 80s a 3 plus hour show, just amazing and watching this young generation ,enjoying this amazing music and keeping it alive THANK YOU!👍
Now that we got your attention LOL.

Barney Gumble: IT BEGINS!
I have seen dozens of videos of him doing this same song, and he puts forth the same intensity and level of commitment in every single performance...
Go to a Springsteen show. Still blowing away crowds at 73 years young for 3 hours straight. Simply the BOSS.
Silas - welcome to Springsteen nation. Your enthusiasm is out of this world, great job! For another awesome live clip look for "Rosalita" - definitely gets you pumped up!
Another great live video is “Rosalita”, it’s an earlier one, so he a little younger.
I love rosalita too especially live✌️
So I was born in 70 - knew couple of songs and then 'Born in the USA ' came out - dominated the charts (I'm not American BTW). He played LONG concerts (3+ hrs.) I saw him several times back in the early ‘80’s. Great memories. Thanks for sharing your reaction!
Three hours nothing. I grew up in Jersey, and when Bruce came back to the Meadowlands in the 80's, he'd go four and a half hours and break the crowd. we'd run out of gas before he did!
Rhapsody in Blue and Born to Run are 2 quintessential American songs.
Great reaction, and way to bust up the studio! I would recommend "Thunder Road" and "Badlands" next, and imo The Boss is always best live, so check him out in concert whenever you can!
Very underrated player. He can play lead with the best of 'em.
Fact. Thank you. Even among those who love him this is often not realized.
My dear. This is Rock,n Roll .This is Bruce at its best. Look at the audience....
He is touring all over the world now..check him out.He might be in a town near you.The Boss..the red head on stage is his wife..
3.5-4 hours.. every convert.. EVERY song with this much passion and energy....The Boss empties the tank---EVERY SHOW!!
Best reaction to a song and video I have ever seen.
Grew up 2 towns over from him and 11 years younger then him, I have seen him in venues large and small my whole life. You have love The Boss.
Ya gotta check out "YES" "GENESIS" from the 70s, "Emerson, Lake & Palmer" and "Dream Theater"
You just watched one of the THE best rock songs ever. This is more than a classic, it helped define what rock is. Very cool to see you appreciate it for the first time.

You got it, that song has a power rock energy that can’t be denied.
easily one of my all-time favorite songs in the history of forever. this song never fails to get me amped the fuck up. bruce and the e-street band are in a galaxy of their own. I got to see them live back in september 2012 in philly and it was legit the best concert I have ever seen by lightyears. that shit was life changing.
I am not really a fan of Springsteen, BUT THIS-------HOLY SHIT, ROCK MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Things you need to react to:
1)History of the entire world I guess
2)"Throwing out my $30,000 Pokémon collection, it was demonic"
3) Helluva Boss
4) In a Heartbeat
Babe...don't destroy your studio....there's a guitar behind you!!! Use it!!!🎸🎸🎸🎵🎼🎶🥁🎤🎙🎸🎹🔥🔥🔥😂😂 Exceptional reaction!!!
What a fantastic reaction from a young guy! and exactly what this song invokes if you have a soul...
You know what you were feeling? JOY!!!!
Four hours every night! Bruce is an absolute legend along with his late sax man, Clarence "Big Man" Clemons. Another huge rabbit hole to disappear in.
Jungleland and Tunnel of Love are just a few of his prodigious catalog to explore.
He'll be back in the USA on tour this fall. Go if you can! He's still terrific and always does Born to Run.
Energy? Did you say energy? OMFG! It was pretty common for his performances with the E Street Band to go 4 hours -- sometimes longer.
The single of this song was his very first hit. And that early on, his lyrics were already VERY cool.
Welcome to the world of Bruce Springsteen!!
That's "The Boss!"
His music still holds up..
The Born to run album is one of the best albums ever made
This is by far the best reaction to this song on youtube
To me, this is one of the last "love songs" dedicated to the American love affair with muscle cars... It was an instant classic...
I often back that song with Jackson Browne's "Running on Empty"
"Tunnel of Love" is a must...
Great song, I was about your age when it came out.....really hits the emotional side.
The power of the live version is undeniable, although I do miss the glockenspiel.
Please get this kid a ticket to a Springsteen concert!!!🤣🤣🤣👍
Yes the Boss! And the E Street Bands all-star lineup! Incredible talent man!
“Born To Run”
IS
Bruce Springsteen;
Phenomenal catalog ;
Enjoy it all
I hope he sees your reaction
Now, think about that likely being the last song of an over three hour set! We gotta find out what The Boss eats, and switch to his diet. Just MADE of pure energy.
I named one of my dogs after his song “Rosalita.”
The River live at Glastonbury is a must.
🎸💯 Bruce Springsteen = the REAL DEAL‼🔥

God, I feel old. Saw his 1984 Born in the USA tour at the Los Angeles Coliseum. Got so f***k'd up.
Your reaction is HYSTERICAL!!!🤣🤣🤣
I’m a Jersey boy and this song was our high school graduation song.
46 shows at home and Spain. Blew out my knee and needed a teplacement after back to back nights. Here are a couple of requests that are not so mainstream:
Quarter to Three (live) he played this live as the first Western artist to visit Russian East Germany
Kitty's Back
Ghost of Tom Joad (live in LA with Tom Morello.
Wait till you check out all the international artists that played with the band...mostly at festivals abroad.
See you further up the road!❤
A perfect song. And a wonderful reaction to it!
100 % = if you were 18 - 25. Y o Old about during 1965 = THE BOSS Was your guy!

RIP Clarence Clemons, The Tower of Power!
