      Except the part about Google/Alexa/Homekit interoperability. That is not the issue at the moment. The problem with current "mesh" technology like ZigBee is that devices require a hub from their manufacturer. And with Wi-Fi devices they require setup on the manufacturer's app and everytime you change their state your assistant has to make a round trip communication from your router, Google server, manufacturer server, your router and back to the device. But all of their services already integrate with those 3 ecosystems at the same time!
      One of the main issues is that although ZigBee was supposed to be a universal standard, today's ZigBee devices only work with manufacturer specific hubs. "works with Phillips Hue", "works with smartthings"... With matter you won't need any of those hubs.

    • @ManuelKampmann
      @ManuelKampmann Рік тому +1

      @@luisfpinho Yeah that part really wasn't that well explained. He basically explained what ZigBee already does (and Thread IS pretty similar to it). Also you don't need a manufacturer specific hub. Things like zigbee2mqtt exist and also ZHA in Home Assistant. Those can already do what he explains there. It doesn't matter if my bulbs are from Philips, the smart plugs are from Ikea and the window contacts are from Aqara. They all are running via the same protocal with the same border router (using a matter term here). They can also interact with each other. An Ikea remote can switch off a philips bulb and vice versa. It's also possible to use Google Assistant locally with these devices.
      Matter is just supposed to make this easier for the end user.

    • @luisfpinho
      @luisfpinho Рік тому +1

      @@ManuelKampmann exactly. And I do use Home Assistant with deconz for zigbee. But for non-technical users it's not an option at all. Also, it does not support every device. AFAIK devs have to manually add device configurations in order for them to work. I've had multiple switches and a few curtain motors not work with it :/

    • @ManuelKampmann
      @ManuelKampmann Рік тому

      @@luisfpinho I used deconz too. But have to say switching to zigbee2mqtt was the right decision for me (I also switched from a conbee2 to a sonoff stick). ALOT more devices are supported and I was even able to get a device that has yet to get official support working for now. I do agree on it not being an option for non-technical users. Though I think ZHA in Home Assistant should be a lot more beginner friendly. You would have to get Home Assistant running though - which for non-technical people is still not that easy.

    I have TP-Link smart switches throughout the house and they're great especially when some of them control multiple can lights and some adding dimming function. I do have color changing bulbs in the bedroom which I rarely change to an actual color but TP-link has an automatic setting that goes from warm, to cool, to warm, and brightens and dims throughout the day. And when 1% isn't quite dim enough, the color "Peru" is good.

I also have a couple regular LEDs on smart switches but they are a bit weird since they are stuck at whatever color temperature. But I do like the idea of a smart switch, what I need are toggles/buttons/knobs all over that will keep me from having to shout into the air when I want a light.

Mine were doing the same thing recently and once they froze I had to reset In order for them to turn back on. This dramatically improved the headphones. Hope this helps. 😎👊if this does not solve it try plugging in the lightning cord to charge it then unplug a few minutes later. Been known to happen more than once with multiple solutions 😂

    My old AirPods Pro got worse noise canceling with updates. Unfortunately, we can’t decide whether to install the update or not. Im using my AirPods Pro 2 with Android phone and iPad. I just removed them from my iPad so it won’t get updated. This sucks.

    About two-ish (maybe a week. It’s been a hectic two weeks around these parts. Someone please come take my children) weeks ago, I sold my AirPods Pro’s and bought some AirPods Pro’s 2. Two and a half days later I put them in for the third time and they were screeching with feedback when I was using transparency or ANC. I took them back to Costco and the lady said they were the second pair she’s taken back for the same reason. The other one was two days before me. 🤷‍♂️ I’ve just been using my Beats since then, until I know it’s not an issue.

    Does this mean you could buy Google nest speakers and use Alexa or Siri on them? Or do you have to use the "assistant" that was designed for the speaker?

    I’m super stoked for Matter to be released globally! This truly unlocks a consumer’s choices without having to be locked into one ecosystem or another!
    Furthermore, running Matter locally will mean that in the event of a power outage everything doesn’t turn on!

    The crazy thing about Twitter, they could've easily made the paid for badge Blue, and an official one White or another easily identifiable color. Doing this weird multi verification thing just makes it so hard to at a glance see if it's a real person.

    My airpods pro 2 definitely has a lower noise cancellation level than what i used to experience with the pro 1. The airpods pro 1 never disappointed me with calls and noise cancellation but airpods pro 2 seems to always give trouble like the other party is not hearing me properly if the noice cancellation is ON. The other day while I was in a bus, a guy in another seat was talking loudly and my airpods pro 2 with noice cancellation On, just amplified his voice for me, it was so annoying that I was trying cancel the voice out but instead it's amplified :( Planning to get a Jabra now.

    Smart homes have been around for 50 years. I love listening to people who have been involved with it for only 10 years try to explain the history. Smart Homes didnt start with Alexa, it wasnt even fragmented as it is today until wifi devices and Apple Homekit came along. Matter is an industry apology in the form of a new initiative to pledge to work together. It's also a new protocol for Wifi Devices to talk universally to any platform. As X-10, zigbee and Zwave devices can talk to any controller or hub, now Wifi devices won't be bound to their own app, and can easily talk to any voice controller. It also means Apple Home(kit) won't block devices not homekit certified. Apple wouldnt talk to an ikea bulb on a hue bridge, but would if it was connected to IKEA's hub. Now with Matter, you can put HUE, IKEA, sengled, INNR and any other Zigbee device to the one HUE bridge and have them work with APPLE, as well as google and Amazon which they could before matter. Now we don't have to rely on a $40 even plug anc can use $10 zigbee plugs.

    • @Bigglare
      @Bigglare Рік тому +1

      With Matter, We can automate with Apple Home, use echo speakers for voice, and google displays for visuals. Our devices will talk to any system and can control the devices.
